    Yes. I check everything I can (leg straps, chest straps, 3 ring routing, etc) on the way up also. I've got a few minutes on the way up, so I figure I might as well be productive. In the morning I'll also check all the webbing and hardware on the harness for wear before the first jump.

    A teenage girl with a shotgun is no less dangerous than a middle-aged career criminal with one, but nice try. If a 17yo girl with a shotgun was likely going to kill you, how would you react? IMO, if someone physically threatens your life, they lose any right to live their own.

    If it was a rig I had actually packed that had just gone out of date, etc..: I'd be pissed, and I wouldn't pack for them again. If it was a rig someone else packed and they forged my signature/seal: A royal ass-kicking would be in order.

    The Alti-2 Neptune is purpose-built for skydiving, the watches aren't. IIRC, the display is going to be much easier to read on the neptune, it has logbook functions, can record freefall speeds, and does alot of other nifty things that the watch will not. Personally, I'd buy the Neptune.

    Just order a new one. I think they're only around 17-20$ I've tried to clean mine, but it only ended up making it worse, so I just replaced it.
