    I've seen it done in steady 30mph winds, on a smaller canopy than that, and, he stood it up if I remember correctly.

    speaking of transparent, anyone remember that rig that was made several years ago, don't remember exactly how many, perhaps late 90's... It WAS transparent, for demonstration purposes... but not jumpable... i think it was displayed at a symposium or something... maybe it was a javelin? i don't know... I just remember seeing the pics in one of the mags... anyone remember? Yes. I'm pretty sure it was a Javelin, but I don't remember all of the details.

    Whats happening this saturday? I am SO not in the loop. Well, at SDD it's the July 4th boogie. Skyvan, B-17, $20 jumps all weekend, a bunch of other good stuff.

    160+mph in a 3000GT VR-4 when I was 17. In fourth gear, on a 40mph road. With my dad behind the wheel.

    I've got a Smart 220 in my current rig, and I'll probably have another Smart in my next rig. I haven't jumped a PD reserve, but I was impressed with the Smart after my first ride on it.

    I think if people could understand what really is going on, they'd stop bitchin' about it. While PD has said it will be good for skydivers, dealers, and prices are going up, etc., I'm still kinda confused about what has actually changed, and how/why it'll be good for everyone.

    Yep, I've never had it happen to me, but I've seen it happen a few times. I did have a 12oz dr pepper can explode from the heat in my car last year. I learned not to leave anything pressurized in the car after that... I got rid of the radar detector. As it turns out, it's less expensive to just not speed so much.

    It may be more expensive to downsize quickly, but people will find a way around that.

    Either way, I doubt anyone will fall for them. One email usually is enough to tell that they're a scammer.

    Yeah. I'd bet money that it's a scam. For some reason the majority of the scammers will list something in Europe, but payment in USD. I used to check to see if they were copied from other ebay ads back when I had more free time.

    Oh so true. Gotta love windows breaking because the car gets so hot. I burned the hell out of my hand a few years back after grabbing a handfull of change I had left on the dash in the middle of the afternoon. I had an aluminum shift knob in the mustang for a while too . Yep, done that. I love when the weathermen say a cold front is going to move through with a high of 99.

    That's because the G4 already has a padded packpad. On the other hand a loop cut at the bottom now has to thread through flaps and grommets giving the potential for a container lock. One of the reasons Mirage moved it. And for bragging rights sake....go with an Infinity! Why infinity over a Javelin or Mirage? Why not?

    I love my pro-track. It differs from the neptune in that the Pro-track doesn't function as an altimeter. I've asked people around the DZ about their Neptunes, and I've heard no problems from anyone lately. I'm thinking the battery thing may have been an issue before some of the latest software updates. Keep in mind that even though L&B has really great customer service, Alti-2 does a pretty good job too.

    The Neptune has logbook functions, but IIRC, the Viso doesn't. Neptune - 249$, Viso - $169 I think. Not sure about the website, but they make good stuff, and their customer service is among the best in the sport.

    Agreed. I know one jumper that had one shipped to him last week, so I'm not sure what the circumstances are there, but I don't feel like waiting around any more.
