August? Hell, I guess I'll be ordering one as well. I don't have any doubt that the Viso is going to be a great product, but I'm not going to wait all year for it, especially if they end up pushing back the date yet again. (This the 5th or 6th time now?)

I've got an idea. Do you have any cats? -

It's not an R1, but it's not far away. Not to mention that "mature" doesn't really apply here. -
Should campaign contrubutions be limited on location?

As someone mentioned earlier, there are alot of experienced riders here advising you against the 1000. I know what an SV1000S is. So does the RC-51. We know. Not true. It may not have the top end HP of the typical inline 4, but it makes up for it in torque. Yes it will. The fact that you claim to know this leads me to belive that you've tried it. There's no shortage of stupid riders, and anyone that recommended an SV1000s for a rider with no experience qualifies. I wouldn't have recommended anything above the EX500 or maybe the SV650. -
You always have the right answer.

My average now is around 118-128 and my max is 162 in a heavy cotton jumpsuit.

Whatever. Just don't take anyone else out when you panic turn yourself into the ground, or hit a car when you're speeding down the highway on your bike. -

Getting a litre bike with no experience or flying a small canopy at that loading with little experience is reckless. -

Everyone has their own speed of progressions, but starting out on a litre sportbike or 135 loaded @1.5 is fucking stupid. If he's lucky he'll live, but if he doesn't hopefully he doesn't take anyone else with him. -
I'd have mailed it to the issuer. Edit: I doubt the store employee would be dumb enough to actually go out and try to use it, so I wouldn't worry about that.

There's a difference between respect and control. Sorry if I'm being an asshole today, but given the choice of canopy listed in your profile I can see that you obviously don't understand that. Good luck, and hopefully you won't die. -

Duh. The SV1000S is not a good choice for a beginner to learn on. -

Did it actually come out of the container or was it just visible?

Ugh... Why is it that the government will keep people in jail for possesion of marijuana, but not for stuff like this? If they're any kind of threat, where they live shouldn't be an issue, they should be in jail. This kind of law sounds like something some politician came up with while posturing for an election.

Landing a step-through/tangled parachute
justinb138 replied to jheadley's topic in Safety and Training
You mean you've seen it stick together on the ground? I've seen a few canopies that have been packed for a while come out of the d-bag like a brick. I don't doubt that they'd open, eventually. -

Putting asside the alledgedly, is that a problem? With me it would be. Having seen new-ish ZP stick together after being packed for a relatively short time, I won't jump a main that's been packed for more than a month without repacking it. Hell, I'll pull my ZP PC out and repack it if it's been in the BOC for more than a week or so, but maybe I'm just obsessive about that kind of stuff. -

So he jumped a rig that a packer (allegedly) packed a few months before without opening it up and repacking it? Did he point him in the direction of the nearest bowling alley or golf course? -
Thanks for the info! I guess I can wait a little while longer and get the Viso instead of the Neptune...

I've put about 30-50 jumps on my 200 loaded just under 1.2 and it's plenty fast for me right now. I'll think about downsizing if I can lose about 40lbs or put at least 300 jumps on this one. I've got so much to learn on this one still (Scott Miller course in a week should help

Any idea when they'll start shipping?

I've got a Firebolt 200 and I absolutely love it. Best opening canopy I've ever jumped (gotta love that massive slider)... Have fun.

It's been a while since I've seen one, but I believe that Talon's have pockets on the bridle. I doubt there is enough drag from them to pull a reserve bag out of the container and get the canopy out though.
