    The bill passed by a large margin, but doesn't go into effect until September. I hate to say it, but I kind of hope he gets sued by the guy he shot, might change his way of thinking on the bill he opposed.

    That's fine. Doesn't bother me at all. What does bother me is the anti-gun people trying to make the same decision for me. I take comfort in the fact that if someone breaks into my place in the middle of the night, I have more options than calling the police and hoping they get there in time. A .40 with 12rnds of 180gr HPs always seemed like a much more effective method of defense than my phone.

    I don't think I've seen a freebag land downwind of a main before. It's got that nice heavy spring and not a whole lot of fabric like the main, so it'll usually fall faster and therefore spend less time in the air.

    For the record, in 2006, Texas CHL holders were over 7 times less likely to have been convicted of a crime than the rest of the population of the state. My Texas CHL was issued today.

    My opinion: Go with the desktop model of the Core2 if you can. If it's a store-bought computer, don't worry about RAM/FSB speeds too much, you're not likely going to be able to mess with the settings that much anyway. If it's not going to be used for gaming, etc, you probably won't notice much difference between the different speeds..

    Got a better Idea ever thought about Installing a Big Ass Train Horn. I had a buddy do that no shit. It was Loud as Hell I tell ya. It almost made other people wreck it was so damn loud. I have an air horn installed on my civic because the stock was a joke. People move when I hit that thing!!! Damn! I want one! Where and how much??? Google them/ a few hundred bucks.

    Please do not do this. The eye drops can do some pretty bad stuff, I believe they're quite toxic when ingested. In addition to that, I'm sure it would qualify as some type of serious criminal offense in most places.

    Ever heard of Mike Nifong? I haven't, but I'll google him when I get home. I just can't see a jury sticking the kid with a felony charge for this. The DA has to know that taking the case to court would be a major waste of time and tax dollars, especially if the ACLU gets involved.

    The DA would have to be an absolute idiot to actually pursue the felony wiretapping charges. I'm assuming they'll let him off with lesser charges simply because they know they have no chance of getting a conviction.

    You left out: "Because I can." I bought my first handgun (SA XD40sc) late last year because I wanted something to go target shooting with and wanted a carry gun for when I got my CHL as well. I bought my second gun (Kel-Tec P3AT) because I wanted something a little smaller I could carry with me when the XD wasn't an option (while out on my mountain bike riding around town). I rarely shoot this one at the range becauase it just plain isn't enjoyable to shoot. I bought my third gun a few weeks ago (a Springfield 1911 Loaded model) because I wanted something that was more accurate at the range and had less recoil than the smaller XD. I like this gun so much I'm thinking about using it as a carry gun, but it's kinda big. The next gun I buy will either be a .22 target pistol or a carry-size 1911 (Colt Defender, etc..).

    While at the range on Sunday shooting .40 and .45 a guy fired a .454 Casull revolver while standing about 10ft away from me, and I wasn't expecting it. I nearly jumped out of my shoes when that thing went off.

    Per 18 U.S.C. 921 and 2332a, any projectile over .50 cal is a WMD. So DU, per the US government's own definition, fits the bill in large projectile form. Then by that definition it's not, and I believe the term is "destructive device", not WMD. Uh, yeah it is. The GAU-8 Avenger gatling gun fires a 30mm projectile, which is over a 1 inch diameter. And look up the U.S.C. definition of WMD. It includes all 'destructive devices' including projectiles over 50 cal. My mistake, I was assuming the discussion was only referring to the .50BMG pictured above.

    ermm you answered your own question, well in a way. What you seem to "forget" is that a gun was designed soley as a weapon to kill, yeah yeah we can argue that they are now used for target practice, or shooting clay pigeons.. etc but they were still invented with a single purpose... No neither the Knife, the car, the match, alcohol, drugs or even cricket bats are desinged with the sole purpose of killing... Oddly enough, my guns haven't killed anything...they must be broken! Damn, mine must be too....

    Not sure about the .577, but you can pick up a .700 nitro express double rifle at Bass Pro Shops here in N. Texas for around $60-70k.
