  3. well having flown 2 out of three I would say crossfire2 over stilletto in a heart beat... but that is such a personal choice go out and fly em although the katana in its largest size might be a bit of a jump for you at your jump numbers wouldnt want to have to sell you one of my "got titanium?" shirts Cheers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.

  9. Been a lot of focus on the Sabre 2. Are there any other canopies that has the same performance as a Sabre 2? I feel that this thread as been a free ad for PD ..lucky bastards And if someone could enlighten me on this: How does the sabre 2 behave during frontriser/hookturn approaches? I was told by some guys at my DZ that is was "wobbeling" or "wiggelig". I didn't get to try it my self when demoing a S2 190 If I'm going off topic, pleas PM me, so the thread doesn't spinn off
  10. if that was the case some of em would have to be dick down fliers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  11. Nicely put... D http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  12. dude you can swoop the balls out of a sabre2 so stop thinking you need an elliptical to swoop... I have seen people on sabre 2's outswoop people on crossfire2s based on ability to fly a canopy...why dont you stop looking for someone to tell you it is allright to jump a canopy you are just not ready for and learn to swoop on a sabre 2 or safire 2 I think just about anyone with sanity will tell you that is a good idea... Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  13. come to the ranch we will corrupt you back into having fun thats what we do best :-P get a wingsuit and a cute philly and have her smack your ass while she rides you during a flocking dive :-P or you could take in some newbies and get them excited about doing stuff (Iknow you are an instructor but hell take a bunch of newbies and get a team together and go to nationals or somethign) Cheers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  14. at least 40 jumps a month then I am current...anything less and I aint bringing my a game to the sky... so right now I am uncurrent as I have only done 10 jumps this month and know that I should take it easy on the 180 turn when I go out the next time ... Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  15. well that explains why my email wasnt replied to and I thought I just wasnt cool enough... Speedy recovery brothers... Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  16. and then there was that time that the pilot said it was allright and I was in a 206 and I started to try to climb out got frustrated by the door and lack of easy to get to handles and size of door (I am kinda tall) finally freaked grabbed my jumping partned by the harness and dragged him out the door...oh yeah that was dumb....we where still like 2-3 miles out fortunately we were the only idiots to get out and realized it once we looked down pulled a little higher for us 5-6K and it took every trick in the book to make it back...balling up reall small hanging on the rears openign chest strap...but we both made it back and just in enough altitude to pull a 90 degree turn...but I learned my lesson...look out first stupid know what the winds are and make at least a mental calculation of where you should get out base don wind speed up top (and oh yeah there are those flying machines below sometimes too) Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  17. when I originally demoed the crossfire2 I demo'd it on the 149 vs the Sabre2 150.... I liked the crossfire2 opening better...I liked the front risers better...I like the fact that it just kept wanting to fly... in fact I just liked it better (that being said I like the fact that I learned to swoop on the sabre 2) Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  18. why doesnt anyone mention that things go wrong a lot faster too ;-) For Instance... 2.5 line twists which immediately puts you on your back looking at the sky doing rotations losing altitude quickly... not saying you shoudlnt fly one...just throwing that out there...I love mine to death loading it abround 1.6 Cheers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  19. and I sell the shirts that say that :-P got titanium ;-) http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  20. dude I have the same feelings especially when I am in the last 10 miles of getting to the dropzone...its like wow I havent jumped in like a week...god my cnaopy scares me...oh my god the scary jumpers scare me...and wow malfuncitons scare me...and fucking up scares me and a lot of things scare me.... I think it is kinda healthy to have some fear about this sport...It reminds us that "this aint no book club we're all gonna die" and keeps us from becoming complacent in our safety checks and keeps us on our toes... Then as soon as I am on the plane I am like oooohhhhh yeah this is what I needed....get out the door and relax...and when suddenly I am faced with a 180 turn right into a guy who tracked int he same direction over me I am on my toes and ready to rock and roll... so your fear is healthy keep it own it love it and use it to keep you safe and alive and in one piece...but dont think that it is a reason to stop skydiving... Cheers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  21. yeah I am with spence...when I was injured I had a bunch of friends who were willing to come pick my ass up and take me to the DZ or DZ parties ... and then when I was able to jump they came and got me and took me to the Dropzone where we did a nice little reintroduction to skydiving together... heal well...remember a guiness washback with those pills and skydiving videos will be fun too...oh wait dont do that it is bad for you... Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  22. I would say talk to your instructors for sure... seeing as how you weight a bit more lightly the 150 should be allright but I dont know how you fly your cnaopy... but I reiterate talk to your instructors... Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  23. Dude there will always be good deals... buy a container that fits you now...and spend that "good deal" money on jumping your ass off. figure this good deal on an nj with reserve and say a stilletto would be like 1400-1500 thats like 70-75 jumps man...do the jumps man that way you dont get all horny to jump your good deal rig and then break yourself and wind up not jumping man... Cheers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  24. you must flog them heavily with elderberry bush branches... or you could say hey what happened and explain to that person that they did a bad thing and why it can kill themselves and others...and then if they do it again revert to elderberry bush branch option Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  25. its totally personal...for me if I go 2 weeks without jumping I feel as if I am a bit off and it takes me a jump or two to get back in the groove... as far as the reccomendations of the USPA they follow: A License USPA A-license holders who have not made a freefall skydive within-- 1. 60 days: should make at least one jump under the supervision of a currently rated USPA instructional rating holder until demonstrating altitude awareness, freefall control on all axes, tracking, and canopy skills sufficient for safely jumping in groups 2. 90 days: should make at least one jump beginning in Category D with a USPA AFF Instructor or in Category B with a USPA IAD Static-Line, or Tandem Instructor before proceeding to unsupervised freefall B License USPA B-license holders who have not made a freefall skydive within the preceding 90 days should make at least one jump under the supervision of a USPA instructional rating holder until demonstrating the ability to safely exercise the privileges of that license. C and D License USPA C- and D-license holders who have not made a freefall skydive within the preceding six months should make at least one jump under the supervision of a USPA instructional rating holder until demonstrating the ability to safely exercise the privileges of that license.
