But they could be using those knives to butter their bread Bill, come on, don't hate the tool man I always carry a knife. I use it everyday even though I've never stabbed anybody with it. Come on lighten up a bit, it was a joke, we know you're not a murderer Rick Never go to a DZ strip show.

They may not have rights under our Constitution but they do have rights under the Geneva Convention. But in that case, what about Jose Padilla, an American citizen, held in military detention without being charged or given access to counsel. He's an American citizen, either he has rights or none of us do, at the whim of GWB anyway. Never go to a DZ strip show.

Well we agree on that anyway. Never go to a DZ strip show.

Not true at all. Many guns are designed for the purpose of target shooting. The primary reason someone may own a gun: -Target shooting, competition -Hunting (ok, yeah, that's killing...but only of dangerous or delicious animals ) -Collection -Self defense -Killing I own handguns for self defense. What is their primary purpose? To save my life, not to kill. Killing the target is an unfortunate side effect necessary to accomplish the primary goal of saving my own ass should the situation warrant it. Edit to add a primary purpose to the list But you've got several other non-lethal self-defense strategies available. The real reason, and we all know it, that guns were invented was to deliver a projectile into a body (whether an animal or a man). I can't believe people are really trying to argue that guns aren't weapons. Besides, your gun couldn't save your life unless it could kill, maim, or in some other way incapacitate. Without those capabilities it's just a paperweight, although those have been used to kill in the past too. Never go to a DZ strip show.

The TOP 3 Things People Seem to Lie about....but why?
benny replied to MochaSkyChick's topic in The Bonfire
Hahahahaha . . . yeah, sort of. People keep saying I'll break my tailbone, but I'm like, uh, I don't think so. (All in jest. Please no flaming.) Love the sig line, by the way, Benny! That's freakin' hilarious! Sorry I picked on you so much . . . next weekend it'll be someone else, I promise. Kelly That's ok, you can pick on me all you want, I'm still gonna be freeflying and swooping before you! HA! Never go to a DZ strip show. -
That depends on how they are used, does it not? Or do you insist on calling knives, baseball bats, scissors, your hands, the thorns on roses, and your chairs weapons, weapons, weapons, weapons, weapons, and weapons? It is a tool. Nothing more, nothing less. Yes it is a tool and nothing more, but tools have purposes, some primary, some secondary. Your list only pointed out that things can be used other than for their intended purposes. I'd say it's fairly clear that a gun's primary purpose is to kill. Now, if that's not it's primary purpose, I'd say it's poorly designed. Never go to a DZ strip show.

Must not have been a busy show. Private attendees can walk in and out with their own firearms. [why do you insist on calling them weapons?] They can also trade, swap, loan, or sell the same as they can at home or anywhere else. Until this bill, anyway. They are weapons are they not? The TOP 3 Things People Seem to Lie about....but why?
benny replied to MochaSkyChick's topic in The Bonfire
No, but if I were to go skiing on my normal-sized feet and fall on my ass, let's just say I wouldn't really feel it. Kelly Is that why you're resigned to landing on it Kel? Never go to a DZ strip show. -
Probably...I don't think there's anything in their religion prohibiting it. This seems like a clear violation of Freedom of Religion. They are being denied the ability to adhere to fundamental rules of their religion. They weren't giving benefits to some and not others, so it's not discrimination. They're not required by law to provide any prescription benefits. But they are now required to provide benefits for something that is against their religion or stop providing all prescription benefits. If I were them I would choose the latter rather than compromise my religious morals. I agree with you along your line of thought, however if the church receives state funds for anything then the state absolutely has the right to make this determination. This is why alot of religious officials even decry Bush's faith based initiatives. But I also simply find it ironic that the church would refuse medication to women of non-child bearing age on the grounds that the medication's primary use is birth control while at the same time paying for old men who should not be producing children either to get boners. It's just laughable, particularly in the light of the recent scandals. I wonder if any of the accused priests were prescribed viagra. I doubt it but wouldn't it simply be shocking? Ok...so even better...now they get to shell out money for ALL their prescriptions when they stop giving them any drug benefits. This is stupid....they are giving them a voluntary benefit, they're not discriminating against anyone....it should be up to them. So my question is, does the benefit cover viagra? Hey Kel, I for one know for a fact that those "cases" were twelve packs. Now my #s: 3:6:0 3 consecutive days at the DZ:6 jumps (all Sunday):0 beer owed BTW Kel, you missed a kick-ass 12 way tracking jump at the end of the day. Never go to a DZ strip show.

Damn it's amazing, by the conservative posters' general labeling of us "liberal moron circle jerkers" you should be in a position to have children (you're a democrat, you must be gay right??) And those you do have you would just treat like crap and you wouldn't be nearly intelligent enough to play chess, spotting a queen even?? Never go to a DZ strip show.

I agree, Fallrate needs to relax. I also agree that noone's mind will be changed. I also wonder if I am the only one who sees the irony in the bolded statement... and maybe it's not really eyes that we should worry about being open here, but minds. Now, I wouldn't dare suggest that Bush or his proponents would ever do something so sinister as orchestrate or even wish for a terrorist attack. Then again, I can see the logic of such an attack helping their political aspirations. And tuna, I apologize for replying to you when this was most directed at Fallrate. But Fallrate, as for putting a bullet in my head, I'll do it if you go first and sho me how it's done properly Never go to a DZ strip show.

It'll seal the election for Bush, regardless of the left wing conspiracy theories. Why would this seal the election for Bush. In reality, people are already starting to hold things other than the war on terrorism in high priority. Therefore why would the Republicans want to go and basically take the issue off the table. No longer will the American public believe they need Georgie there to protect them. They will breathe a collective sigh of relief that the man (OBL) is gone and wake up the next morning to the realization that many of them still don't have jobs and that those who do are facing stagnant wage growth. No, better for Bush's chances of staying in office would be if he doesn't catch OBL before November and there is another non-US terror attack, like on the scale of the Bali bombings, sometime in the fall. I personally think the idea of a never-ending war on terror is the dream of these old white men who run our nation. Ok, I'm done with that. Never go to a DZ strip show.

Hey man, I'm not sure if I met you today but we jump at the same DZ. Today was great. I "jumped my ass off" for what will definitely not be the last time today. Worked on my fall rate variation, biffed a landing hard, got in a 12 way tracking dive and tried sitflying. Oh hell, I think I'm glowing. Never go to a DZ strip show.

The common wisdom is always that the more jumps, within a shorter amount of time, the better. However if you want to do it you should do it however you can. Personally I worked through AFF paycheck to paycheck. Everytime I had the money I'd jump. It took me just over two months. I didn't fail a level. Saying you'll probably repeat may be the case, but for the matter most have to repeat levels, whether or not they do it in one chunk or spread it out. But that's just my $.02 Never go to a DZ strip show.

Listen man, I know we disagree on the nature and state of political affairs, so I think we should just agree to disagree. Besides, you seem to be unable to compose a logical response to anything I write and would rather attempt to denigrate my current job. Not that I even know or care what you do. It doesn't matter. I know that what I do takes more thought and effort than you put into any of the tripe you go spouting around here. Anyway, why don't you do me a huge favor and forget I ever existed? I'll do the same for you. Benny Never go to a DZ strip show.

Ron now you're just being inflamatory. Sure, he gets more direct information than I do. So yes, maybe he is more prepared to make the decisions than I am. I suppose even a monkey, well maybe not a monkey, but then again, the monkey would get all those briefings. You can throw all the information you want at a fool, that doesn't mean he can synthesize the info and make inferential decisions on it. Anyway, GWB has been in politics longer than you've been alive? Gee, here I was thinking he was driving oil companies into the ground till about the mid-80s, was I misled? Wow, if he's been in politics longer than you've been alive Ron, you must be pretty young, can you buy beer yet? Never go to a DZ strip show.
