  1. I still have yet to see anywhere in Austin get to $3.00, even at their worst. Right now they're around $2.35
  2. You didn't think "pitch 'em a bone" was at least notable? Damn you're hard to please!
  3. And I appreciate you guys making that sacrifice for all the Texas fans, since we're playing Sam Houston State that weekend.
  4. Well shit, just when things were going well for me, it's the first sign of the apocalypse.
  5. Dammit JT, don't you know fags like to be called homos these days?
  6. Some dudes with a really bizarre fetish are going to be ecstatic when those girls turn 18 and start doing porn.
  7. I don't know how it was when you guys were here, but there's 4 now. The original one on Kerbey Lane, the one on Lamar, northwest on 183, and the newest one is right on the drag. Much earlier in the thread I mentioned that there are several restaurants I would recommend that aren't what he's looking for. Kerbey is definitely one. And somehow, something tells me Dave has either been there already, or *gasp* would actually like it if he hasn't.
  8. Agreed, it could be good press if it were pulled off. But freefall and canopy control are hard enough for new jumpers when it's the only thing they have to concentrate on, when you add trying to perform a stunt into the mix it seriously increases the risk of an incident. And as for doing a tandem, A.) He's the kind of guy that goes all out, I don't think he would want to be a tandem passenger for his act (I could be wrong). And B.) obviously it's up to the tandem master whether or not they'd do it, but having someone trying to perform a stunt while being your passenger would make your job a lot harder, and probably increase the chances for a incident as well.
  9. NOTHING. The last thing this sport needs is a new-to-skydiving celebrity to die on video.
  10. Ok, I've been avoiding replying to this thread because, well, it's just so entertaining. But to answer your question, she did actually say that it's considered a racial slur, in as many words. And for clarification, I don't actually have any reason to talk to her on any given day, but I usually stop by her office to chat because we're friends (edit: friends may be a strong word. "friendly coworkers" is more appropriate). And this situation has not changed that, we're still friends. She approached it in a way that gave me the impression that she felt it was an inappropriate slur, but that she was kindly informing me of that fact for my own edification. And then it was over and we moved on. All I really wanted to know when I started this thread was whether or not anyone else thought it was offensive, but it's gotten much more entertaining than I expected.
  11. When they ask you for documentation, you say "otay"?
  12. OMG, you like Sports Night? I knew there was a reason I like you. But I've never even heard of this new show. What channel is it on, and when?
  13. Hijack: When The Matrix Reloaded came out, my SO at the time was in Colorado, so I went to see it with a friend. Right before the previews started I got a text message from her that said "I'm sitting in a theatre about to see Reloaded."
  14. Explanation Although that probably won't make much sense either if you haven't been paying attention all day.
  15. Very true, and I wouldn't give a crap if it hadn't been at work. I'd hate to get in trouble for something I didn't know I was doing.
  16. Yeah, I googled it and looked on urban dictionary as well just to be sure. But apparently at least one person thinks it is.
  17. http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/index.shtml Included in that list is the Couch to 5K program she mentioned.
  18. I was having a friendly conversation with a coworker of mine the other day and I happened to say "otay" at one point. Apparently she thought that was inappropriate and got a bit upset. Thankfully we're pretty friendly and she's not going to make a complaint about it or anything (which is good, because she works in HR). The thing is, I never even thought of it that way, it was just something to say. Looking back I guess I can see how it's related to Buckwheat, but I'm still not sure I see how it's a racial slur, and it certainly wasn't intended as such.
  19. Yeah, the floors of some airplanes can be pretty slippery. It's amazing how often people just fall right out of them.
  20. Is Janice Joplin following in the footsteps on Tupac?
  21. Has anybody mentioned yet that it's an Antonov AN-2?
