Did you see the graph that's been posted a few times showing the decline of Hillary's Favourable ratings since she left her Government post 3 years ago? Character assassination was the second mainstay of Trump's entire campaign (the first one being "Great!"), and it clearly did work. Do you want to have an ideagasm?

    Sure every candidate gets criticized (didn't you just say politics was supposed to be full contact?), just like you criticize every democrat, and say every one of them is corrupt. But Trump is different. Which other Republican candidate got dumped by a significant portion of his own party's elected representatives? Which other Republican candidate got dumped by newspapers that had endorsed Republican since early last century? Which other candidate had a fraud trial scheduled inbetween election and inauguration? Which one boasted on tape about committing a string of sexual assaults? Had to settle racial discrimination suits? He is different. But whatever, it doesn't matter anymore. From the outside though it's going to be funny watching the reactions from all the Trump supporters once the broken promises start rolling in. Do you want to have an ideagasm?

    Does it? The man who claims to be the mastermind of the entire conspiracy - who thought of it and who implemented it - gets away without punishment because he turned evidence. But not evidence against his boss - not evidence to show the corruption reaches all the way up to the Governors office - no, he testified against two subordinates who he ordered to help implement the plot. And now they face jail time instead of him. If that's the system working, then fuck the system Do you want to have an ideagasm?

    No, it's not about how you describe it (well ok, the way you describe what you think is happening is also pretty bad), it's that the phenomenon you are trying to describe doesn't exist. You don't get more wind in your face flying upwind and you don't get less wind in your face flying downwind. You will come out of a given dive with the same airspeed whether you're going upwind, crosswind or downwind, and airspeed is exactly what it says it is - speed through the air. This is the only thing that governs how much wind is in your face. Do you want to have an ideagasm?

    I could punch out of my Colugo 1 just fine. Colugo 2, nope. Arm sleeve fit tighter than the one on my new Sukhoi. I know the RAD cut is supposed to still let you get to toggles but didn't really work for me. Looks like of their current range of big suits only the A2 has enough stretchy stuff on the arms to be a genuine 'punch out' suit. Do you want to have an ideagasm?

    That statement is incorrect because it does not mean anything. It's a collection of unconnected words. But you're not asking about turbulence. You're asking about stable wind speed. No. Just no. There is no 'wind force' on the canopy at this point. There is no 'wind contact area'. Think about the situation you re describing - diving the canopy, about to plane out into wind. If there was such a thing as a 'wind contact point' where would it be? It would be the topskin of the canopy. What would happen if the wind was pushing on the topskin of the canopy? It would instantly collapse, and your recovery arc would turn into a plummet. In stable wind conditions, the only aerodynamic forces acting on the canopy, whether flying straight, turning, diving, whatever(!) are the ones created by your weight powering it through the sky. Do you want to have an ideagasm?

    Sorry, nope. Nope. If you use airspeed as a reference (which you should) the velocities, and velocity changes, are all the same. If you use goundspeed as a reference (which you shouldn't) the downwind horizontal speed and upwind horizontal speed will be different, but the velocity change between the two will still be the same. Do you want to have an ideagasm?

    No you haven't. Sure, you come out of the turn with less forward velocity relative to the ground (which is still irrelevant btw, but even if we pretend to accept it your logic still doesn't work) - but when you were going through the turn you were hooming downwind (relative to ground) much faster than you would have been on a no wind day. In fact, you were faster downwind by the same amount you are now slower into wind. So your change in velocity from downwind, to crosswind, to into wind is still the same, your swing back under canopy is the same, and the effect on your recovery arc is the same. Do you want to have an ideagasm?

    Absolutely - but what you call a side draft or front draft would be when the windspeed changes. ie. A gust of wind. It could be equally helpful or detrimental to the recovery arc depending on where it came from. In steady wind the canopy feels no 'draft' apart from its own airspeed, just like in calm conditions. Do you want to have an ideagasm?

    Then why did you say "windspeed is airspeed with respect to a certain wing loading"? Airspeed has nothing to do with windspeed, and windspeed has nothing to do with airspeed. Windspeed does however have a lot to do with groundspeed - hence, again, why I relly don't think you understand the concepts as well as completely as you think you do. Well now you're talking about flying in turbulence or gusts rather than steady winds. Those are two different things. Gusty conditions can just as easily give you more lift, less lift, or anything at all depending on what's happening. In terms of the physical explanation you are seeking for the phenomenon you believe is present - how is that in any way a relevant distinction? Lift is lift. Do you want to have an ideagasm?

    I really don't think you do. Not fully. No it isn't. That sentence is literally meaningless. And that is down to airspeed. That is not an example of 'this' - it is an exampl of something completely different. Windspeed is important to how a kite flies because you are anchoring it to the ground. A parachute is moving freely in the airmass. That is a major, fundamental difference. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
