  1. WORTH.. as you can imagine is sometimes 'subjective'.. I quoted $150K in terms of parts as well as value.. this tunnel is small is is perfectly suited towards an amusement rental/show type environment.. but only with experienced & trained flyers doing the flying. Because it's so small it's barely suitable for one person.. being so small.. there is little room for traditional safety features, such as airbags or cushions.. these should be added, and the modifications can be made. The crude harness system that is in place now.. seems to work OK, but is not something I would recommend keeping.. I would of course only endorse hands on training as a true flying experience is certainly the only way to build the industry and gain repeat customers. Also.. because it's so small... it's easy to move.. you can pack up, pull it with your pickup and move from venue to venue every day if you wanted, this in and of itself makes this a very valuable tour.. if you charge 3-5K per venue plus expenses you can get quite alot done as COMPARED to other portable tunnels.. but can you get a venue.. sometimes.. with lots of advance planning and a bit of research, you COULD locate several places to remain in your DOWN time from bookings... but they will not be easy to find.. OH THE NOISE from these things, and that will be the primary and in some cases ONLY reason you cannot find a place to operate. Typical 3 minute flights pushing them through you could probably run 15-20 flyers at about $20 bucks a head.. $30 would be pushing it.. people seem to give up twenty dollar bills much easier.. Operating costs.. 3 staff.. training time (+/- 30 hours at least).. 20 gallons (ESTIMATED) per hour of off road diesel.. insurance 20-30K per year, travel, expenses.. etc.. you can do the math.. (we offer full consulting svcs if you don't want to) Saftey retrofits... sturdy railing on the top, airbag/cushion of some type on the deck, and of course everything should be fully inspected prior to usage.. those sort of things..

  5. Hey! Good to hear from you.. Yes, they will be using VR Skydiving. It's not REALLY a championship, for several reasons, mainly, it's a showcase for an event coordinator named Tim John. Event planners, coordinators for colleges, corporate biz, etc will show up, take a look at the activities he offers and HOPEFULLY book some of them right on the spot. There are only a few participants at this point, it's been poorly advertised. SUPPOSEDLY there will be footage taped for some TV show spot.. but most likely that just means the local news. Even cooler than the whole event is the Convention Center it's being held at... amazing architecture, etc!! Pink Suits, Blue Skies & Fast Air, Dawn Suiter PMTS #3 You could be Next! Join @ A.A.C.

This can't be Keith Fields.. you wouldn't be saying that since I talked to you before they got there ABOUT their visit, and we've spoken since! ????????? Taken to PM..
  8. I guess it just provides a discretionary buffer.. for instance, I completed my AFF in only a couple of jumps.. but I still made all required jumps with an instructor.. we just added big ways to them, this way, my status wouldn't be removed in the future, for not doing the required jumps even though I was more than qualified after the first couple to move on.. SO... it was my interpretation, as well as the few tunnel flyer AFF instructors I know, that this allows them a discretionary buffer, where they could pass a student in LESS than the required number of jumps as a result of the logged tunnel time.. the REQUIRED Manuevers for passing would be the same, but they could be accomplished in less jumps without scrutiny in the future.. I think I'm rambling now.. I'll move on.. I am very glad though that I did make all the required AFF jumps with my instructor.. it did wonders for my confidence, I wouldn't be nearly as good today if he had passed me without a second thought after the first couple!!! 11. last time I checked Tunnel Time does count toward AFF requirements.. but only 3 jumps worth. I guess I'll have to go look that up.. now WHERE was that..... Pink Suits, Blue Skies & Fast Air, Dawn Suiter PMTS #3 Join @ A.A.C.
  12. It's never really been a formal competition although the 2nd was better than the first... the CHALLENGE is not to win, but to show up and meet & fly with new friends.. that's why I think it's such a great event.. plus it travels from tunnel to tunnel. AAC maybe the next location on the list for later this summer/fall. Post publicity is never very good, BECAUSE it's so informal... I'm usually there so I do the write ups.. but alas, couldn't fly to CA for this, not with my JFTC Cross country tunnel trip coming this fall!! Pink Suits, Blue Skies & Fast Air, Dawn Suiter PMTS #3
  13. 1. Because it FEELS amazing 2. There are TWO within 1 hour of my house.. the closest DZ is 3 hours away!!!(of course that's why I moved here) 3. The whole family can fly and does 4. It's cheaper than skydiving & less stressful 5. It's now a 3rd generation family tradition.. it's becoming a part of our heritage!!! do I have to stop with only 5??? 14. No Pictures necessary, details would be nice!!! How did it go? Who showed up? Who placed? No Injuries I hope... Anybody do anything spectacular and new??? How was the setup.. were there actual judges this time?.... The SUSPENSE is killing me.. I hated having to miss this one.. Pink Suits, Blue Skies & Fast Air, Dawn Suiter
  15. I could never freefall as much as I've flown and will fly.
  16. It is my great honor to do this for Gus, and for all of you. Being in Deland was especially hard, on a normal trip, I would've seen our close friends, and scooted out mostly unnoticed, but so many people singled me out.. it was a long crying fest. Spending time with Lydia and her parents & Gus's Brothers, was almost too much. Bill & Lydia, together, made everyone cry again. I think alot of people thought they had moved past the tears.. but no such luck, there wasn't a dry eye in the hundreds of folks there. This one is going to take a bit longer than usual. Earlier today, when I received the video clip (which was added today) and then I put his ashes & a rainbow in the header of the site.. well.. more tears came pouring out... I miss him... so many cherished memories and so many lost opportunities...

  20. SkyVenture would be nearly quiet if it weren't for the net... no leaks
  21. OOOOh, I always wanted to dig a moat... this could be the PERFECT EXCUSE!!!
  22. That's the tricky part of it... but I wouldn't consider it a success if we all got wet.. even slightly.. It would be similar to those misting machines you see at theme parks...
  23. Hey Paige.. Just for reference.... your home cooling systems takes care of a thousand cubic feet air.. and cools it... you know about how much that costs each month.. Now a tunnel AC unit.. needs to cool over a MILLION cubic feet of air PER SECOND... That would make it about what.. a hundred times larger & more expensive than the average home unit... Although we have our own working theory... that you could use water to cool the air, instead of AC... which, if we can make it work.. will mean ALL tunnels could afford a cooling system..
