  1. Perfect timing for the Pelt Head Boogie in Chambersburg, PA
  2. Selena, you got to talk on the phone to Strato today... he said he called the DZ looking for JR. So, enquiring minds want to know... did he sound like your accent when you read his tales of Kyle aloud last weekend???? Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda
  3. Because it wasn't posted by BillyVance so you thought it might be safe.... ? Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda
  4. I agree... but how much of a vote do you think he'd get given the pictures circulating on here??? Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda
  5. Shit, I about spewed my coffee laughing so hard at your post and the pictures!!!! Thanks!! You'll be pleased to know that your previous posts about Kyle were printed out and read aloud at the DZ this weekend. Selena did an incredible job reading your stories and had quite a number of us entertained. Kyle just emailed me that his life is over and told me that the odds of him running for public office just ended thanks to you though Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda
  6. That's Eye Snot. In very technical terminology, of course. Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda
  7. Because most conjunctivitis isn't viral, so not contagious Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda
  8. I can't speak for the line set issues, but my Spectre 150 did open consistently more briskly at Mile Hi than at home in PA. Out of 400 jumps on that canopy, the only time I've ever had a hard open was that last jump I made out there. I'd email Brian Germain... I've watched him lengthen lines just by stretching them, he can probably walk you through how to do it. Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda
  9. Grant! How the hell have you been!! You haven't even been to Cburg lately.. they make everyone sign a 'rules of DZ' now with regards to dogs being on leashes and being picked up after and away from packing areas. When are you coming out to jump??? Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda
  10. Sounds like you are describing the Pelt Head Boogie Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda
  11. I agree about kids vs. dogs. I love some kids at the DZ though. One guy brings his 8 year old and I love it when the kid is in the hangar while dad's in the air. I put that little guy to work. He knows more about packing than some jumpers. I keep him busy cleaning up broken rubber bands, checking windows on bridles to make sure I cocked the pilot chute right, getting me rubber bands and pull up cords, chasing down packing tickets when people forget to get them for me. He's a great kid, very smart, asks a lot of good questions. He's very proud of how much he 'helps' the packers and we give him a couple bucks at the end of the day. One of our packers talks a lot and gets distracted from packing, so this kid will even tell him to 'shut up and pack'
  12. I don't think the dogs are the problem based on what you wrote... the owners are. My 3 are in our trailer all day long, they are all lazy and happy that way. They are walked at least 3 times a day away from other people/dogs, and clean up after them. We only have one at a time (if any) around the bonfire, and even then only if we know everyone is ok with it and there aren't already a lot of other dogs out. Most people have no idea that we have 250 lbs of dog in our trailer... they don't make noise. Any owner can control their dogs the same way we do. Dogs are happy, we don't have to worry about driving 1.5 hr home at the end of every day to feed them/let them out, and they don't bother anyone. If your dog isn't on a leash, it's a problem dog... it's not getting cleaned up after, it's not being kept away from people who are afraid of or don't like dogs, it is a nuisance dog. 13. There are a LOT of dogs at our DZ every weekend. The rules are that all dogs must be on leashes and owners must pick up after their dogs. As far as I know there haven't been any problems. Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda
  14. I weigh every morning. After I pee, of course
  15. I started about 2 months ago at 155.5, today was 139.0 Goal is 125, so 16.5 down, 14 to go! Of course I'm heading out for a nice dinner with my husband, but my body seems to do best when I give it one meal a week of 'real' food. Today's the day.
  16. Why waste time with stitching when you could solve the problem with duct tape!!! Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda
  17. Shit, that was funny... and not surprising at all for some reason. It must be Kyle's signature maneuver, stripping the first time he hits a new DZ... he did it here at Cburg too!! What a man-whore. Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda
  18. I think so. But you can't really decide that until you've seen me pack, and unless you were lurking the tandem tent in Dublin, you missed that particular show Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda
  19. My boobs got electrocuted last time too. I'll volunteer them again. But only to Chad. Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda
  20. I'll be there Thurs night or early Fri am... so will Chad. Bring the blender and the electric 8 way gadget
  21. Do you really think I leave the brakes stowed the 'creative' ways? Hardly. I point it out to the jumper if they are available and show them how to do it properly. And I always fix it. Plus stow the excess for the jumpers that are too lazy to do so. My 'very repeated process' includes checking brakes on every rig. No exceptions. DZ policy does save me significant time every day since 99% of the time brakes are set properly. My personal policy of brakes getting checked twice on every pack job ensures that it is done properly. It's the best of both worlds. Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda
  22. I go to the gym M-F (I figure packing all weekend is more than enough work out for weekends!). Been doing it for 2 years now. Some weeks I'm lazy and only go 3 times, but never less than that. It works, I'm glad I do it, I just hate getting up that early to go. I'm under 140lbs for the first time, now! Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda
  23. Hmm, I've never seen a packer drag a rig out to the landing area to set the brakes Our DZ rules are that experienced jumpers set brakes, uncollapse slider. Personally I double check brakes at least twice in the course of packing (when I first start with the rig and again just prior to putting bag in the container). It amazes me how many experienced jumpers manage to come up with creative ways to stow brakes. Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda
  24. I don't consider packing for myself packing. I know, it doesn't make sense Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda
  25. Oh, that's the sweet irony, there was no trouble with the audible, in fact rumor has it that it was screaming until the end. Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda
