ARCH, Maggot. Jes Keeeding!! NOT. You will be more relaxed and improve with that relaxation. You still have to give a good arch on exit. Russell M. Webb D 7014 Attorney at Law 713 385 5676 https://www.tdcparole.com

Mini war story. Sad ending ... for my SHOE
efs4ever replied to efs4ever's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Cessnas. Don't ya just love em; especially 172s with the regular door still on. Analise Bennett took me for a little cross country from her house (airport) in Crandall, Texas, over to Larry Portman's dropzone in Caddo Mills. I was located where the front seat used to be and a young lady was sitting in the back as an observer. So we fly over, and I jump in and yuck it up with Larry and some Dallas folks. I get a pack job and we head back home to the Bennett farm. This time, however, I don't get the door open far enough or Analise doesn't give me as good a slip, but, anyway, my shoe gets neatly caught as the door slams shut on it. I'm gone, and Analise sees the shoe in the door and is leaning down to rescue it, when the observer feels a sudden desire to set me free. (because she thinks I'm dangling from the plane) She beats the pilot to the punch and opens the door setting a good Sketcher to freefall to someone's farm. It was a fun weekend anyway, and Bobby Bennett is still 60 years old. So, pilots, and jumpers, what do you tell the pilot to do to keep the door from slamming so hard. (Gotta keep this on topic as a skydiving discussion) Russell M. Webb D 7014 Attorney at Law 713 385 5676 https://www.tdcparole.com -
The Oldest Tandem Student I Have Jumped Was . . .
efs4ever replied to slotperfect's topic in Instructors
I also took my 71 year old former teacher from my days as a kid growing up in Saudi Arabia. He was the English teacher, coach, band teacher, Scoutmaster and music teacher. We had a good jump in Marana during a reunion of other Aramco Brat "kids". (Some past 70 themselves.) We made the front page of section two of the Tucson paper. -

I took the 72 year old father of a jumper at our DZ on one of the last jumps on my EZ 425. He really hated it when I told him to grab his harness and ARCH again as we spun through the sky with a nasty line over. Chop was good, and the landing was a nice slide in front of his "cheering section." -
I remember him at Muskogee in the early 80s. He had some very unique items for sale, and I still have some.

Nah. It was just locked up. It had been a mite windy that day, but it was great at the time I showed up. Russell M. Webb D 7014 Attorney at Law 713 385 5676 https://www.tdcparole.com

I've actually gotten somewhat of a tour every time I've showed up! (3 times since 2000) There's always something I didn't see the previous time. You gave me the last one when I came to pick up my rebuilt Sigma that I've worn out in Texas.

Just wondering. We used to get golf carted back to the packing area, but now it's hoof it all the way. (Party maggots ruined the carts with after hour activity) Good exercise, though.

This photo supposedly shows an impact crater at either Perris or Elsinore that happened over 20 years ago. It was in a photo album, and I just snapped a picture of it. Anyone know the validity of it or the story behind it? Russell M. Webb D 7014 Attorney at Law 713 385 5676 https://www.tdcparole.com

I've had two different riggers leave packing tools in my tandem rig. Both of them realized the error of their ways after FINALLY counting their tools. Each of them contacted me immediately (like the next day...) and opened the rig up to get the tool. The first rigger GAVE me his trusty ole paddle. Russell M. 1:2:6 April 1, Bobby Bennett turned 60 and had a bash at his home/airport in Crandall, Texas. After the winds died down at the end of the day I took his daughter on a tandem and set her down in front of the arriving guests. Next day, while every one was sleeping it off, his wife took me on a cross country over to Caddo Mills, where I jumped in to yuck it up with Larry Portman and other old timers. Got packed up and jumped back into Bobby Bennett's place minus a shoe. (That's another tale coming soon) Went back home to Skydive Houston and did six tandems Sunday
