  1. About the only thing I can figure is that most C-182 DZ's have a 3 person minimum for a jump. About the only way the operation can even break even. It was a CARAVAN. Russell M. Webb D 7014 Attorney at Law 713 385 5676 https://www.tdcparole.com
  2. Well, I have a card that says the RWS qualifiies me as an Examiner. I'm on the internet as a staffer at a major DZ. I have a logbook full of tandems. Aaand I have a well used Sigma Rig with my NAME embroidered on it. My WHOLE LOGBOOK is HERE TOO!! V V v Russell M. Webb D 7014 Attorney at Law 713 385 5676 https://www.tdcparole.com
  3. 1. We got the last two slots before the plane took off that would have been EMPTY. We got out at 9500 to clear the traffic. 2. She doesn't want to, and probably would be incapable for various reasons. Russell M. Webb D 7014 Attorney at Law 713 385 5676 https://www.tdcparole.com
  4. Yes times two. The youngest will soon be 21. Both girls were tied off with my personal pull up cord before the umbilical was cut. Russell M. Webb D 7014 Attorney at Law 713 385 5676 https://www.tdcparole.com
  5. Generally, I buy my girlfriends a USPA if they continue jumping with me. (Or a FJC if she so desires) Most have chosen to take the "Jump with RW" route, howver.
  6. Fifty bucks is a big deal. Twenty Five is too. Remember, tandem is not "experimental" any more. I had to point out a mis routed cable to one of their own tandem instructors as he was boarding the plane Russell M. Webb D 7014 Attorney at Law 713 385 5676 https://www.tdcparole.com
  7. In this case, her USPA was expired. (I would have re-joined her if they wanted) In all other cases my friends WERE USPA members. Our system of ratings and documentation, along with my logbook should be sufficient evidence that I am who I say I am. Someone with 13 jumps is not necessarily a "non skydiver" I would expect to, and gladly would pay, extra for a first timer at any DZ. Russell M. Webb D 7014 Attorney at Law 713 385 5676 https://www.tdcparole.com
  8. My girlfriend, traveling with me from out of town, is NOT someone in the pool of people EVER likely to go make a tandem jump at a dz I visit, thus, not taking beans outa the pot of some TI. Me having a "complete day" with my passenger is also NOT an event that deprives some poor local TI out of a paid jump. Russell M. Webb D 7014 Attorney at Law 713 385 5676 https://www.tdcparole.com
  9. I explained that she had 13 jumps, and that I was the one having to PAY. If I bring a paying student, I TELL them and work it out. Russell M. Webb D 7014 Attorney at Law 713 385 5676 https://www.tdcparole.com
  10. I have some girlfriends who are experienced tandem jumpers. (Hope they aren't reading this) I own my own tandem equipment, have the appropriate ratings and provide all gear. I've jumped at many DZ's with this configuration, and all just charge us for the slots. We've made jumps at Rantoul, Skydive Texas, Sky's the limit, Beeville, Texas, Skydive Houston, Skydive Spaceland, Marana Skydiving Center, Taft, Skydive San Marcos (That was just a favor for a soldier, but thanks Phil) Skydive USA and Moss Point. (Had a great time at every place, THANKS TO ALL OF YOU) Today, however, after traveling many miles to visit an out of town place I was shocked to find that the DZO wanted an extra FIFTY BUCKS for us to make a jump together. I talked him down to 25, made the jump and left. Instead of us getting several jumps, we had to leave or go broke jumping. Should an experienced jumper be charged EXTRA just because she chooses only to ride on a tandem, and the DZ does NOT provide any of the gear? Explain if necessary.
  11. In 1980, during a boogie in Dallas, I won a door prize, which was a gift certificate from McElfish Parachute Supply. I used it to obtain the Boenish video that had Skydive, Wings, Masters of the Sky and Sky Capers. (as well as the base video, which I watched last night.) They were $80.00 back then. After hitting a pick3 recently I bought a nice DVD recorder and saved the media by transferring it to DVD. I'll be bringing it out to Skydive Houston next time I come, and I'll probably have it on me where ever I travel in the future. (AZ and CA at Christmas) I've tried to no avail to reach Michael Lloyd, who did the cool songs on the skydiving programs, in hopes of working out a deal to use the tunes on my own tapes. I had to settle for royalty buy out stuff that wasn't too bad. Anyone know Michael Lloyd? Ask him to call me. 713 CALL WEBB Same for Jean Boenish.
  12. Just bought one. Got the new lens too. Had to move the mount back on the helmet and put a lens support on the front. Dam bad weather prevents a maiden flight. I have to get some jumps on my brand spankin new canopy before putting a 4 pound camera on. Russell M. Webb D 7014 Attorney at Law 713 385 5676 https://www.tdcparole.com

  16. This is old, but I was in the American Photo Contest Edition with it. (2/3 of a page) It's a good feeling to see yerself in print. Parachutist rejected it. Haven't sent a single thing to them since. Russell M. Webb D 7014 Attorney at Law 713 385 5676 https://www.tdcparole.com

  20. Nope. I met with Kim and saw his stuff. Mine is crisp too. When I went to Granbury to jump it the wind prevented it. Russell M. Webb D 7014 Attorney at Law 713 385 5676 https://www.tdcparole.com
  21. Hey, I jumped it six times last year at 270+ exit weight. No problem.
  22. I was just tossing this around with my rigger. I've got a mint condition ParaCommander in a conventional rig. B4 and belly wart is not my favorite configuration, so I was wondering if i could just put the PC on tandem risers and stick it into my tandem rig. Seems doable. Could probably use the hot dog type pilot chute inside the container and close it up with the golf ball pin. (Sigma) The only thing I'm concerned about is the long closing loop. Of course I wouldn't want someone picking up my rig and strapping on a rider Anyone? Bill, don't shit a brick on this one!! Russell M. 24. Just got a call from Eddie Ambrister in Fort Worth: Russell, Sorry for the bad news I had to give you this morning. It was nice to talk to you, wish it would have been under different cirmcustances. Randy's funeral is tenatively scheduled for Tues. at Greenwood in Ft Worth. I will send another email when I know for sure. Thanks for your help in getting the word out. If anyone needs more info they can call me at 817-426-0734. Thanks for your help in getting the word out. Regards Eddie Ambrister amb7878@aol.com Randy and I ran students at a strip in Fort Worth in the early 80s. They were on T-10s and belly warts shooting for a field surrounded by subdivisions. We'd throw multiple wind drift indicators upwind until we nailed the center of the field. That and Radio Shack walkie talkies on the reserve kept us accurate 100%. Heart attack suspected. Russell M.
