    HOLY CRAP. right out of High School I took 7 years to get a degree in aero, learned how to fly airplanes, bought an airplane, learned how to skydive, paraglide, scuba dive and BASE jump. and started a company. I took only 20k in student loans and borrowed 45k from my dad (for the plane). I paid my dad back, but still have the student loans. of course the whole time I was also working. How the hell does one spent 170k learning to use a camera? Shit. I bet you my student loans I am a better photographer than she is.

    that is cute. None of these muppets could do a clean Split S even if they had the equipment. A barrel roll is a great tool to clear airspace. but not really necessary in all situations. I do one on maybe 1% of my jumps (for the purpose of clearing airspace) they are fun to scare people with doing it low in a wingsuit on a BASE jump. -SPACE-

    I have (on many occasions) used my BASE canopy as my main parachute freepacked in my container for Vampire jumps. this is pretty much the exact function of a BASE rig plus a few kgs for the reserve. hop n pops are cheap and I can get a minute flight from 5000', if the DZO's narc is on holiday. -SPACE-

    I enjoy packing. I remember not liking it at one point. but now, it is a meditation. Make peace with packing, you are reverse-engineering a parachute jump. it's pretty cool. I also have nearly 800 BASE pack jobs (I regularly pack for friends) and those take 20-30min. -SPACE-

    A lot of skydivers disagree, and will say 200 jumps is the number. however, I know BASE jumpers that started at 200 and never should have started even skydiving. I also know some that started at 40 skydives and are the safest and most skilled BASE jumpers alive. (one in particular has 1500 BASE jumps now) The amount of preparation needed depends on how willing or able you are to absorb the information quickly, and also how much of it is already there. -SPACE-

    I hate it when these intense jumpers are mad after coming down from a jump, because someone "didn't get in" or their swoop was not good enough. fuck that shit. this is not football. nobody "loses". I am here to have fun, not a perfect fucking stupid diamond out of wingsuits. AND I hate that everything awesome (IE wingsuiting) and stuff that looks pretty cool (IE freeflyiing) has to be turned into RW. there was a post in the wingsuit birdie people place about "acceptable formation distortion" or something super lame like that. ----REALLY? you are flying three miles above the ground going 120mph with clouds and friends in bad ass wingsuits and you care about THE crooked SHAPE YOU MAKE? go line dancing or something. so, yes, to recap. what do I dislike about skydiving? Skydivers.

    Stimulating is great, once the pilot can control it. It's all the same shit, pull left, go left. pull right, go right. The most stimulating glider I have ever flown is a FLX. and it's 180 square feet. -SPACE-
