Delta Wing Dream 205. (yeah, it's huge, but I have not rigged it in years)

Good post. -SPACE-

yeah... not a great decision. but the memory is awesome. dropping from strut, throwing, and watching runway lights flash past for the 2 second deployment sequence... oh man... My favorite was taking 2-3 second delays from 500' at 80kts. the ~220' was a one time, "oh... yeah... i guess that could be a bad idea" kinda thing. With an on heading opening, it really is no big deal at all. but with even a 90 degree offheading, really scary. BASE gear of course.

Yet......Would you ever rat out the pilot that let you do it? I would not. Even though the pilot turned out to be a piece of shit, I would never rat out a fellow pilot for something illegal. Even though the statute is passed. It's not like I did not fly loads those nights either. ;-P -SPACE-

Oh, and a few slider down jumps from below 500' from a quicksilver. but that is nothing special. -SPACE-

I have several slider up BASE rig jumps from a C205 at 80kts from 500, 300 and 220'. at this point opening heading is a HUGE issue. below 300 an abnormally long hesitation and 180 degree off heading would result in fast impact with the ground. All of these were done at an airport over a grassy area. -SPACE-

You got tired of the jumpers getting all the chicks? Got tired of following the rules, or being persecuted for breaking them. But I just found it again in skydiving. There is no escape. I just learned to not care (in PG and BASE), and put my nice pants on at the drop zone.

I've always called skydiving the red-headed bastard step-child of aviation. I like you description too. I was a pilot before I was a skydiver, and yeah. I think we both are correct.

A positive article in as popular and well written of a magazine as Air and Space is good. Jeb has made a career out of something he loves, the 'spin' he puts on it is his choice. Skydiving is the trailer trash meth boondocks of aviation. I call this a win.

Jeb was low guy at 2003 GoFast! Games, yes.

pretty sure murder/suicide is the only option. Sure am glad I don't have a subscription. I was enjoying being alive.

wait... "god" is supposed to be capitalized?
Calvin19 replied to Calvin19's topic in Speakers Corner
I would certainly hope so. As we all know, God is big business. And under-capitalization is a piss-poor way of running a business. Our operators are standing by to take your pledge. -
wait... "god" is supposed to be capitalized?

But, the conclusion on wether the cat is alive or dead is made using observations that you and him and I can agree on and measure. What you are describing is delusion, as defined by any dictionary, because you are "perceiving" things only you can perceive or sense. My belief is that I do not know, and cannot know, but as my main man Carl said, "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence." "You can't convince a believer of anything; for their belief is not based on evidence, it's based on a deep seated need to believe" -
Didn't parachutes and any ram-air canopy really suck 30 years ago? hell, 20 years ago? No one would die under a good glider because the fastest possible roll rate was 30 degrees per second?

wait... "god" is supposed to be capitalized?
Calvin19 replied to Calvin19's topic in Speakers Corner
I was reading a recent athiesm/agnostic vs the crazies thread and saw a website where an author was reamed for refusing to capitalize the term "god". Bullshit. I'll capitalize your Mom. -
~ wrong. I have over 1000 small cross braced canopy landings and only 200 small crossed braced canopy jumps. In total I have over 2200 canopy landings and about 600 hours of canopy time, a lot of it with close proximity to nasty terrain and in high wind conditions. Jumps does not equal risk, safety, or attitude. but jump numbers is all anyone has to measure by, even if the measurement is semi-relative. -SPACE-

If you find an area with a steep enough and long enough smooth surface I will launch it on lameblades.

Abby is the man.

No offense to the old school jumpers, you guys paved the way. Just sayin. -SPACE-

BASE tandem is nothing new, sure. but I am pretty sure commercial BASE tandem is. Like I always say, yes we are on the shoulders of giants every day we jump. But I still jump alongside Giants that are just as innovative and ten times as skilled as your muppets from the cold war. I was a BASE jumper when I was 19, so I think I am exempt from this "get off my lawn" speech. Check the attached

"Light sport" or "ultralight"? does having a passenger automatically bump it into light sport, or is it an illegal ultralight (part 103)? not that it really matters, just wondering. had to go through the N-numbering process recently for my weight shift, E-LSA. no one writes better "riddles" than the FAA. You might be correct, I just went on the assumption that previously "wavered" ultralights were gathered into LS. Assumed it would be the same. It possibly could be considered an illegal tandem paraglider? Legal issues aside, I think it is something that had to happen at some point. there is no way to avoid it. I would like to know more about you ELSA, I almost built one of those a few times. even last month with the research I did we could not get the numbers to work for the duration we want. not enough energy density. -SPACE-

Are speed wings under 103? Are skydiving canopys groundlaunched under 103? Are kite surfing wings under 103? You need to intern at fisdo office for a few. No airplane, no airport no FAA. Bra Again, yes, they could be if the FAA felt they were worth pursuing legally as a vehicle operating within the "Navigable Airspace" of the united states and its territories.
