Ahhh... did the big bad airline give you imperfect food on the flight bought on expedia that you barely paid your share of fuel on? http://news.bbc.co.uk/today/hi/today/newsid_8626000/8626927.stm Edit: some muppets complained, so to explain, this article is not about the airline, but about current airline delays across Europe and how it is a good time to realize the distances and grasp other possible forms of travel. I just like description and fictional intro about a day without airplanes. -SPACE-

great now I am one of those losers that started a thread about their cat. lame. -SPACE-
-
I have tested about 10 different indoor models. BY FAR the best is the Lama V4. this thing is super stable and a retard can fly it. I have flown all these ships around the cat, and she is pretty afraid of all of them. wont get within 5 feet, but looks curiously. the one she is not afraid of is my 450 speed 3D outdoor heli, I hover it now and then indoors. pretty tight room, (8x4m with a 2.7m ceiling) this thing would take her head off, not kidding. but it is so smooth during the spool up she will just walk right up to it. I have to put her in another room. -SPACE-

what's your record of jumps in one week?
Calvin19 replied to cacb's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Packed or unpacked? All packed, All freefell. -SPACE- -
Open window. Shove cat out. Close window. Problems solved. I received explicit instructions from sister to not do that. coyotes/owls/mountain lions etc. It's a good thing the cat just runs back inside when brought outside. -SPACE-

I saw the scam thing, just yanking chains.

Quit playing with your pussy and get back to work....You don't by chance work at "Phantm Jumps suits " do you? Dont diss the phantm suit dude. I'll vouch. I have bought 3. -SPACE-

So I should get her a mouse or lizard? those are WAY cheaper. a bird is like 50$ WTF? -SPACE-

My sisters cat has been living with me at my shop, and it seems to be obsessed with birds. The cat does not enjoy the outside, but sits in the window to stare at the annoying chirping *#@#ers all day. Thinking of buying cheap pet bird for her to play with/eat. thoughts? Half serious here. (Half trolling too, but I think it's a good idea for the cat) -SPACE-

41 BASE/ climb/hike jumps. (no airplane, boat, or car) -
This I already know, yes. Stats are useless. I found them now, I had a brain fart. It would be nice to have incidents in there as well. we all know that what separates walking away and a fatality is a jagged weird line, I think the stats would be way more accurate if it included incidents.
-
hahahahahha... word. Ok. my bad. I only ever come to the forums page. that is good. BUT I was more looking for something like a fatality graph of causes. Of course collisions and low turns will be the big slices, but when flaming an idiot it would be nice to cite some sources when someone says "you're going to die"
-
I know this has been done before, it has to have been, but I cannot find it. Tried the search, etc. (dz.com search, google, etc) but all that came up was something about DB cooper and total annual stats. It would be great to have a breakdown of fatality and major reported injury/incident: jump number, USPA or equivalent license, equipment, contributing factors and probable cause. And then break that down. So... where did I miss it? -SPACE-

It's 43 people encased in 3450 pound robots that bash into each other at 180ish mph and occasionally into walls where the drivers can walk away unharmed. It's simultaneously immediately relatable by most people because almost every adult in the US drives a car, yet is almost unbelievable since most of the cars people drive would end up killing them if driven in anywhere near the speeds, proximities and g-forces these drivers do. It's a technological battle of wits, strategy and tactics beyond the comprehension of most, yet is amazingly easy to relate to and understand by the concept of "go fast and turn left." People look down on it for being "boring" yet I don't know a single person that would turn down the chance to get on the track and turn a single lap at +150 mph. I would do it. BUT i really, really dislike it because of the disgusting inbred rednecks that somehow 'drive' that industry. I would do anything to dis-associate myself with that.

No, I don't think my posting to this forum is necessarily the will of God. I began posting here about a year ago primarily for personal research and investigation. My first post was immediately attacked. My goal is to respond without sinking the level of maturity the attacker. Andy9o8 has on several occasions instructed me to try and communicate on the level of the attacker. I don't always do that well. I do not engage in debate. I share what I believe and where I have had positive experience. So, we are both here because we are bored and need to be entertained? I'll own my part of that. that's one way to nullify a thread.

whoa dude... You think that is YOU? I am pretty sure you think you are doing the will of god, and the rest of us are here because we are bored and this is SUPER entertaining. you can't have both.

If you know much about taking pictures, as in manual settings, etc, I recommend the SX210 from canon. if not, and you like super tiny cameras that take a beating I also have the Olympus TOUGH 8000. great pics, 14mp, waterproof and crashproof. (important while skiing and speed riding)

Malfunction/Cutaway & Ground Crash Video

how so? the picture (awesome picture by the way, hilarious [aside from being scary]) shows him sniveling under his reserve at medium speeds right? once the reserve leaves your back (that happened several seconds before that screen grab was taken) there is no point in throwing reserve handle. and he was at 2k, plenty of altitude. (right?) maybe. I feel like he deployed his main at a safe altitude and was under a good reserve at a safe altitude. The camera stopped him from cutting away one or two hundred feet higher, but he was at 2k, and though this should not have happened (mal or hesitation in cutaway) it was not the end of the world, no one died, and he probably got grounded and camera jump privileges taken away. or maybe I should just stay out of discussions like this. -

for ME, now I can honestly say I have never had this thought. I have been jumping a GoPro camera for two years and I NEVER think about it in flight. After 200 BASE/wingsuit jumps with camera, a few dozen skydive wingsuit jumps, and ~400+ speed flights I can say I do not think about it in flight. It has become part of the pre-flight check. the last thought about the camera is when i turn it on during gear check. On a second note, sure the 200 jump rule applied to this guy, but look at what happened. he messed up. but it was not because of the camera. he deployed at a conservative altitude and made the correct decisions. This does not mean the 200 jump thing should be changed, I am only saying that packing error aside, he dealt with it well. -SPACE- -
I have 30 hours in a Blanik. AWESOME gliders. forward sweep, all metal, badass. super fun to fly. watching this stunt was awesome, not really the jumper, kinda weak on his part. the pilots are jedi. the yaw control through that roll! amazing. And I have never done a two-ship landing in gliders, only airplanes. awesome stuff. -SPACE-

That is a good point, on my helmets I use the 3m adhesive. mostly for this reason (line snags). On my skis I use the 3m adhesive (that's included with the camera) as well as cyanoacrylate glue to solidify it. I have done about 250 jumps (mostly BASE) with the go pro and have broken the 3m mounts from riser slaps as well as broken the actual case of the camera once. I think since the camera only costs $250 the 3m breakaway idea is a good one. I was able to find the camera. -SPACE- -
The only convincing evidence will be the observation of Christ descending from the clouds and touching down on Mt. Olivet. That is the prophecy from Scripture. I think the animated show American Dad already did that in the episode "Rapture's Delight" so JC will have to think of something else otherwise there will be some serious copyright lawsuits. Honestly, and I mean no offense by this, but the more I read the posts in this the more it seems like a troll looking for attention and an argument.
