  1. I've never hurt anyones pet intentionly. That said I backed over my cousins dog with a combine and had to shoot it because it wasn't dead. I also ran someones (I never found out who) dog through a haybine, it just spit out with a bang and was flat as a pancake.
  2. How the hell did you pull that off with out getting hurt?
  3. What do you think? I live on a farm.
  4. Major pac rat here. I've got almost every receipt, bill, canceled check, and weight ticket there ever was for our farm. Some are 50 years old. It is neat though to be able to look back at what we bought and sold in the past.
  5. Maybe 41's jumps had something to do with it. He still has some pull with the secret service.
  6. Try the fast ferry out of Rochester to Toronto. It's all they talk about on the news here. When you come back make sure to stop by Frontier Skydivers near Niagra Falls. I'd also check out Lechworth Park They call it the Grand Canyon of the east. If you like history you could also try Genesee Country Museum. If you need any directions send me a PM. Marc
  7. Canada was your choice until you wanted some place decent to eat... I'll agree with you there. Canadian food sucks. Why not try Upstate, or western NY you won't spend much time driving. There are all kinds of lakes and seanery up here.
  8. Glad to hear you made it. Now get that license so I can jump with you. Marc
  9. 0-2-1 Two jumps on Sunday morning. Owe beer for my first six way attempt.
  10. Yea it sucks here in Western New York to. Rain and 67 today. we've had rain 19 out of 27 days this month, over 7 inches on our farm. I've pumped out my basement three times this month, lost most of my wheat crop to rain, had a field of peas left because of wet ground, still haven't finnished baling hay, And have the worst looking beans I think I've ever raised. To top it off I've been to the DZ and not been able to jump twice because of bad weather, and when I did you had to pick your landing area so as not to land in standing water.
  11. Fuck that I think I'd have let it heal on it's own. My cousin has a little finger that points south when his hand points west. He ran it through the track of a snowmobile years ago and they just fused every thing together.
  12. How do they get them out? Do they just pull them out or cut them out?
  13. I beet you by nine numbers. A-45369 Congrats!
  14. great minds think a like. I got blue wrench too.
  15. 0-7-2 An assume weekend for me. One solo five two ways and my first four way, got six points on that. Also bought beer for my new jump suit.
  16. HELL NO. I've been chased by a bull once and never want to do that again.
  17. At first that happened all the time. Now most folks I know just ask if I've jumped lately, I think they've gotten used to the idea.
  18. By Jesus I think I might have to get a DVD player so I can see that. I think I've still got the Dukes play set around somewhere.
  19. I've been stacking hay for three days now, does that count.
  20. One of the problems with Bio diesel is that it is primaraly made from soybean oil. Soybeans are a more costly commodity than corn and don't have the yeild potental of corn. In recent years corn yields have gone way up 140 bushels an acre can be expected. Soybean yields haven't followed suit and hover around 35 to 40 Bu. per acre. If there's a market for the corn, as with ethanol, it will be grown.
  21. That Cornell study is very flawed, and was done by someone who hates ethanol. One thing that realy stands out is that it says that it takes 140 galons of fosile fuel to grow an acre of corn. If that were true it woul take over 28,000 gallons of fuel to grow the 203 acres of corn I've got planted this year. Last year I had 175 acres of corn and used about 16,500 gallons of fuel. That doesn't take into account that I grow alot of other crops besides corn. I work about 900 acres total if I divide 16,500 by 900 I get about 17.5 gal to the acre. That also dosen't take into account that alot of that fuel was used in my truck, the lawn mower, snowmobile, you get the picture. Cornell also didn't figure any sale of the byproducts of ethanol, such as DDGs and CO2. Both are sold and help make ethanol production very eficiant. They also only figure on about 2 gallons of ethanol per bushel of corn, when the real production is more like 3.5 gallons per bushel.
  22. 0-0-0 Cloudy Friday afternoon when I got to the DZ so no jumping then. Saturday way to windy. Today I baled hay, have to pay the bills somehow. I did manage to break the mower Friday night at the DZ while mowing the landing area.
