Does anyone else get really amped just prior to working out???
Spatula replied to Spatula's topic in The Bonfire
Holy hell!! My thoughts exactly. WTF is the point of waiting 15 minutes between sets....Do you really think it's effective? Or how about reading a book between sets...GET THE FUK OUT THE WAY!!!!! WOOO!! LEG DAY STARTS IN 21 MINUTES! -

It doesn't have to be in a gym or on a track/trail. Being "in-shape" can be done a ton of ways. Find someone active that you enjoy and do it. Tennis, racketball, swimming, mountain biking, ultimate frisbee, etc.... Hell site seeing, hiking, climbing...there's got to be something active you enjoy doing...find it.... -

Amen brother...music can make all the difference. I always train with music. When I put my headphones on I just shut out everyone else in the gym, on the road, etc...Puts me in a place where I can focus and do my thing!!! -

I just start thinking about training...what I'm going to do..how heavy I'll lift, the exercises I'll do....how far I'll run... I guess I'm weird about it...but I envision what I want to achieve and exactly how I'm going to do it...maybe I have a problem.... 30 minutes and counting... sorry for the rant.... -
For the love of god..A WARNING!!!! Its a courtesy!!!!

Yeah that takes some time to get used to, I guess.

I'm all about it!!! I have yet to meet one person from DZ.com that doesn't jump @ my DZ. So it's due time!!!!

Nope, but I've heard a few rouge comments from those who have some memories of the events I'm there! I've got about 10 people so far coming along, hopefully another 5-10 more.

You got this.....your friends will understand and support! Stick to it and you'll get to where ya wanna be soon. I have a lot of respect for people who choose to quit. If there was an applause thingy I'd use it here. Good Luck!

The Mamba looks sweet EXCEPT that they wont paint the lens...so if you get a color helemt, the lens will be in the carbon fiber matte....that drives me nuts!!!

Skyhook licenced for use by other manufacturers?
Spatula replied to Tonto's topic in Gear and Rigging
How could he not, if he's the one who licenses it? Unless I don't understand it correctly. -
Just did my first (beer) night jump this weekend. It was UNREAL!!! Totally awesome time!!!!

When I was in the military and at indoc, they mandated we drink a mixture of gatorade and water. 2 parts water, 1 part gatorade. We were training on black flag days (ie, 95 degree + in San Antonion) and they said this was more beneficial than straight water, or striaght gatorade. I still drink this combination on hot days. Nalgene bottles are great, 1000 ml bottle...650ish ml water, 300ish ml gatorade. Just my 2c. Glad you have good people around you Bill!

Go to the photography and video forum. Read the FAQ, scroll through all the past threads, then do a search. Been asked numerous times and recently in fact.

For that persons experience level it is according to USPA guidelines. Plus what is this individuals hard deck? I have no experience in the sport but just that statement alone leads me to believe that the surrounding jumpers are not doing enough to mentor. Granted it's not their job specifically but we should always try to look out for one another, IMO.

My rigger charged me $50 on top of the reserve repack. So $100 beans. But as luck would have it the first jump after I got it back I smucked it all up on a crosswinder!! Son of a!!! Oh well....
