Same here...I've been harassing BeezyShaw for a while now...last I was told...there are some prototypes being jumped, but still being refined.

That's a very positive sign. After reading Bonnie's reply (re-establishing her business relationship) and yours...I will at least demo their canopy and go from there. Thanks for the reply!

http://www.dropzone.com/dropzone/North_America/Canada/Ontario/index.html Those are the ones in Ontario...and then there is Frontier Skydivers in Niagara Falls, NY. Only about 2 hours of driving to there....look @ the "Dropzones" link above...

Hey, can you two take that crapola to PM's...your dorking up my thread! I'm currently demoing the Sabre 2 190, and the Safire2 is in the same class. I'm working on lining up a Pilot demo also. I plan to buy in the spring. There are a bunch of rumors that Hiper is developing a intermediate class canopy that will compete in the Sabre/Safire/Pilot class. If I knew when they would market I'd hold out some. Hiper has a STRONG following @ my DZ and if they're intermediate canopy is as well receivedas the Nitro then I'd definitely check it out. Thanks for the replies all!

That's what I'm looking to hear, thanks Bonnie!

Not really, but I don't mind.

I've read some archived threads on the dissatisfaction with Icarus customer service and was wondering if it's improved any? I'm in the process of demo'ing canopy's and wanted to demo the Safire2. But if the C/S is horrible after the sale I don't wanna go that route. So if you've ordered or more importantly dealt with Icarus lately, say in the 05 year tell me about your experience, I'd appreciate it.

Anyone have this combination? I'm about to buy a Neptune and wondered if it fits. Seems like the internal audible pocket is a bit small. Thanks.

I cannot comment on the rig size/spec/cost etc....but I'm having a hell of a time finding a used AAD for a reasonable price. Once you take into account the asking price (or negotiated price) shipping, maintenance that needs to be done, etc...your only a few bucks short of new cost. It's frustrating to say the least. In the end I'm going to end up buying a new AAD.

I have yet to see a weekend without jumping if there's a sky to be had here in VA.....cold doesn't bother these people...just a plane a enough alt for hop-n-pops if we can't get all the way up..... Leading the pack of course is Carol Clay...she's amazing!!! 15,200 some and counting...we can't keep up with her on the weekends...granted she has 2 or 3 rigs....hahaha

USPA downsizing guidelines proposal
Spatula replied to HydroGuy's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Here's a question... Lets say that this proposal is approved and put into effect. What will happen to those jumpers who for example should be jumping a 210 and are jumping a 190? Would they be banned from jumping that canopy? Just curious how this would be enforced and what would happen in a situation like this? Thanks! -

More "great" skydiving publicity on cnn.com
Spatula replied to Spatula's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
[replyIf you have enough money to skydive you have enough money to get at least major medical coverage. If you choose not to, don't come asking for money later. My words exactly!!! It's all about the choices we make in life. -
BH Gunner - Like the design, and comfort was a big factor. Tried on the pimp daddy, evo, and none were as comfortable to me. Oxygen-got a killer deal on one, and liked it much better than the z1...didn't feel as smushed into the thing. Plus I like that's it a bit more solid than the z1.

You should come down to Skydive the Point in West Point VA. We've been jumping a PAC 750 for the last month. Heated, QUICK ride to altitude (12mins), plenty of jumpers....
-
Jump year round @ Skydive the Point in VA!!! We have a PAC750 almost every weekend!!!

Would you mention that you are a skydiver?
Spatula replied to Superman32's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Hate to break it to you but an Air Force recruiter wouldn't label you as such, since there are a few jobs that require jump wings (statis and HALO). They would probably lead you towards them since that would earn them a larger bonus by enlisting someone into those career fields (Pararescue & Combat Control). -
I've been wearing UA Cold Gear for the past few weeks here in VA. This past weekend, ground temps were 45 on the airport and I wore: Cold Gear Leggin's & Mock Turtle neck shirt Sweatshirt Sweatpants Jumpsuit x2 socks liners and winter weight neumans. With that I was fine....actually quite comfortable...oh...and a full face!!

Retail jobs are easy to come by, and usually quite flexible in scheduling.

Could do what we do @ our DZ for boogies and random weekends...BEER TRUCK!!! $75 gets it there, plus what you use....choice of 4 beers.....all you have to do is change the key when empty...although this might be overkill for what your after...hehehe I'd go bottles...COSTCO is a great way to go....
