I only have the PC speaker here, so it was hard to hear the details of it. Sounded like he chopped the main didn't leave and he pulled his reserve around 1k but nothing happened. What were his injuries and is there any details on why the main didn't detach or why the reserve didn't deploy? _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... Looks like it was on the John Roberts show this morning. This link should work: http://www.emailthis.clickability.com/et/emailThis?clickMap=viewThis&etMailToID=658955120 Not sure where/when this happened. But it was Michael Holmes it happened to and another jumper, Jon King, was on the show as well. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... My roommate just picked up a Wii. My group of friends is split down the middle between hardcore gamers and those that never want to play them. Over Memorial Day weekend we had a group of people playing Wii sports all night long (btw, wear the wrist strap if there is beer involved). That game and Guitar Hero 2 kept us entertained for some time. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I'm surprised it took them this long to come up with that spin. They must need a nap. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again.....

I doubt it has anything to do with choice for the public or saving them money. Someone with deep pockets in this industry did something to sway the admin to push for this. More Ironic Hilarity from The White House
ChasingBlueSky replied to quade's topic in Speakers Corner
This has nothing to do with the global impact, nor do I believe the White House cares at all about addressing the issues. Read it close and you see he is talking about planning a meeting that will plan and then allow countries to make their own choices about those plans. By doing so, he is ignoring the real process and organizations that most in the world already look to provide solutions. This is all just spin. This administration is looking toward the future already. They are looking at the public's opinion about both the GOP and the Dems and see that favor is low on both sides. So...they start the spin for the next election now....they are offering up talking points that can be used down the road in even more baseless talking points....things that the uninformed public will just smile-and-nod about and believe cause someone said it from a stage. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... Didn't GW say recently that the surge is working and the violence is going down??? You mean we can't believe what the POTUS tells us? Funny enough, GW spent how many years telling us that we didn't need the UN and that they werel losing relevence in the world...now he may have to ask them for help? If this irony wasn't built on the deaths of so many innocent people in Iraq along with the tragic lose of so many of our troops, I would almost enjoy this. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I think some of those are valid points, and even thou I understand why Nathan helped, I think it was a bit corny. Suresh is essentially the viewer....his journey is roughly the same as ours....someone on the outside looking into this world. He is put there for us to identify with him so we feel closer to the story, his reactions would be like ours. At least that is my interpretation of him. Sylar and Peter fell into the same issue that most comic book ultra powerfuls fall into: there isn't much you can do with them and in the end you have to remove them from the book to help the story advance. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... Is that what bigway was confused about? It was just a solar eclipse...I just am still lost on why that image is so important to the show. I am hoping that comes up this fall. I'm guessing the start of the fall sweeps season in Sept/Oct. There will not be gaps this time around, but the show will take a pause. Instead of another show or reruns during that offseason stint, there will be a spinoff called 'Heroes:Orgins" which will be a bunch of stand along episodes that introduce us to a single new hero each week. So with Volume 2 and Origin we will get about 30 new shows this coming season. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... He can teleport and time travel/stop time, two seperate powers. I know season 2 will heavily focus on Hiro and his Father....introducing us to a bunch of new characters. There wasn't a full solar eclipse in 1671 (thank you wikipedia) so I wonder what that symbol means as Episode 1 in both seasons opens up with that event. I've read that they've told Quinto (Sylar) he could be used again and that he would love to play that character again. BTW - one guess on the two brothers. Peter came face to face with Jessica and we saw him use the strength on Sylar. But the other power that is never talked about is her ability to absorb a sibling (or something like that). That is a way to keep Nathan alive. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again.....

What exactly are you confused about, the entire thing was pretty clear to me. On the one question I heard on the radio this morning - why didn't Peter just fly up? Well, 1) He wasn't in control anymore 2) He was scared and 3) As he said early in the show, he was scared and needed Nathan's help. If you doubt this, revisist what the voice over said in the beginning and end of the episode (which is what Episode 1 opened up with): And then it ends with: Pretty much every story line was finished and they opened up a few more story lines in the final minutes. One of the better season finales I've seen on tv in some time. Mind you, most consider a season finale anti-climatic due to 20+ hours worth of TV buildup over an entire year, along with the public hype....all to be completed in 50 minutes. My only question is, when does Season 2 start?! _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again.....

Interesting enough, FOX news is attacking Paul and is part of the vocal majority calling for Paul not to attend anymore debates. Guess this is what happens when you speak truth and not spin. He is the first politican in a long time that didn't insult my intelligence and he had the courage to saw what needed to be said. I would love to see him be the GOP candidate for office but I doubt it will ever happen. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I think all stations let some shows die, FOX is terrible for that (re: Firefox, Drive, etc). The irony, however, is that this show dealt with that topic. Studio 60 was one of my favorite over the last year. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again.....

So...I'm reading the paper one day in the last month and see "Exxon posts 10% profit increase" then turn the page and see "Experts predict $4USD/Gallon by mid summer, $5/gallon this time next year." I haven't read your link yet, but doubt I will see much that surprises me. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... Do You Really Want to Reduce the Price of Gas in the US?
ChasingBlueSky replied to Gawain's topic in Speakers Corner
Or some of us already have and don't feel the need to pound their chest about it. But since you made this post, I'll toss in what I did. I went from driving over 20,000 miles a year the last 5 years down to 250 so far this year as I take public transportation everywhere now. I also went about weatherproofing my apartment to lower the cost of my heating bill this winter along with turning the temp down to 62F. Since I don't own my place, going Solar/wind is not an option for me. It was all common sense. It cut down my gas usage and saved me some money. I saved over $1000 in heating bills this winter and I haven't even figured out my savings from not driving...but I know that transportation for me is a fixed $75/month pretax. I also stopped skydiving due to medical reasons, so there is even more gas I am not using anymore. When I do drive, its a small 4-door compact car with good gas mileage, new tires and recent tuneups. So, due to the greed of the oil companies I became a better consumer while depriving them of several thousand dollars of revenue. Will it stop them from going up to $5/gallon any time soon? I doubt it and it may even help encourage that. So much for not changing lifestyles. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again..... -
Bruce Willis has been posting on a certain movie fanboy site this past week after his Vanity Fair story related to PG13 rating of Die hard 4. One thing he keeps repeating is that after the death of a certain MPAA leader, that the Movie Rating system will get a drastic change. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... You can only extend that trust and get burnt so many times before it has a negative impact on you. What makes it worse is when you find someone you thought was special and only ends up being like the rest. Despite all effort to heal those wounds, sometimes it just doesn't happen. For me it's routine to automatically distance myself from someone new that gets close to me...I don't put any thought into it, I just do it. I'm not sure there is a woman out there that can change my mind on this anymore. I'm no where near perfect and I've screwed up my fair share (but never cheated)....so maybe its a combination of not trusting myself (or not trusting who I choose) and others. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... NRA opposes bill to stop gun sales to terror suspects
ChasingBlueSky replied to quade's topic in Speakers Corner
So it is ok to arrest someone on suspicion and hold them without charges under the Patriot Act.....but not ok to prevent selling guns to them. I'll get around to seeing it. **Semi- Spoilers below from book** Read the book about a month back. It's decent, but too much of the same from other movies. The MJ character in the book is portrayed as an over the top whinny/bitching woman that is jealous that those in trouble get more attention from Spidey than she does. The Venom black stuff is just introduced with no fanfare and zero explanation altogether. There is a lot of internal dialog with Peter and his feelings with the suit, not sure how that will come across since Toby has about four different facial expressions total. And about that face, how many times can this guy take his mask off in public, near TV cameras and not get noticed....and how many people can he reveal himself to without anyone going public.....and since that mask comes off so easy, you think he would come up with a better way to secure it. Also, Gwen, Aunt Mae and Venom are all minor characters in this movie....so shameful that they used the best Spidey villan in this manner. The beginning stuff and the end are the best parts of the book, the middle had me wondering what the point was of making this story. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me....
