Well, Have a wedding on the 2nd and a bit broke at the moment. So not looking like I will make it. However, I soooo want to jump that Twin Bo and the Heuy. Since the WFFC is only an 80 minute drive from my door, I may just drop in if I happen to get some cash. What about a list of those that will be at Summerfest? Or a list for those that will be at ZHills for Xmas? You can put me on both of those! _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again.....

Discussing happening right now... If you do, please consider 802.11g - it will work with the more popular 11b cards, but the 11g will cover more space and allow more bandwidth. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... Well 192.168.0.x is perfectly legal in a WAP environment, as most of these wireless routers default to that subnet. The reason I was asking him not to use 192.168.0.x is because I carry an IP phone with me (which runs on ethernet) so on my laptop I have the wireless connection and the wired connection and use internet connection sharing in windows, unfortunately internet connection sharing wants to setup 192.168.0.x as it's subnet for the wired card.. and if the wireless card is on that subnet already it won't allow it -- you can't change the subnet in ICS but you can on the wireless router :) So it's cool i can pick up my phone plugged into my laptop and get a dialtone, as well as get all the calls that are dialed to my "home" phone number. i know i'm a geek. Kevin Is that the VoIP Vonage service? _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again.....

Twin Otter Bench Seats and lights?
ChasingBlueSky replied to tkhayes's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Do you think that the fact that you're 5'2" may have something to do with that opinion? Well, I'm 5'9" (I was 5'10" before I started jumping, damn Sabres) and have been in otters that have benches and floor mats. I vote for floor mats - easier to do gear checks, easier to move around the otter in case exit order needs to be changed, easier to get a 10 way speed out of the plane, less to get gear stuck on....benches and leaning on them during altitude is very painful for those of us with lower back injuries and I tend to not go to dzs with benches). Kris, I'd be careful picking on those short girls...they are just tall enough to punch you where it could cause some serious pain. Besides, they are the perfect height to rest drinks on (remind me to wear a cup the next time I go to Zhills). _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... Sure, there is a chance of that. But it's kind of far fetched, and what's to prevent a straight, unmarried teacher from being caught getting busy at the movie theater? Wouldn't that have the same effect? I think the more damaging lesson is demonstrating through hiring policies that lesbians or anyone else should be shunned or treated differently when the supposed message of the church is one of forgiveness and compassion. The Catholic Church is not a democracy, nor is it eqalitarian; plus it was created by humans and thus is flawed, as are all forms of religion. Want to know just how flawed the church is? Join the seminary like I did. Needless to say, after eight years of schooling I have more examples than most. You would be surprised just how bad it really is. Thanks to the seminary, I am no longer a practicing catholic. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... Why is it that its those people that "sinned" the most in the past always seem to get the strongest religious convictions? _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again.....

Better than Gollum/Smeagol? I saw T3 last night. Overall I wasn't that impressed. I'd rank it in the middle of the pack of "mainstream" shoot-em-ups. Blues, Dave Dave, Gollum is in another category. Far beyond CGI used for stunts, etc. Only Gollum in RoTK will beat out TTT. The worst special effect in T3 was the leather jacket ...if you see the movie, you will understand. It looks like liquid....they still can't figure out dynamic realtime lighting that will absorb light, reflect, and cast shadows all at the same time (esp if the lightsource is dynamic). _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... Then wait till you see the prod placement in T3! It isn't even subtle! HUGE semi truck with the add on the side of it, and that truck is involved in one of the stunts. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... This is not the first time Bush has been quoted along these lines. I believe in the past he mentioned he didn't understand why he was going to the middle east since they were all going to hell anyway since they didn't believe in his god. I did not vote for Bush. Bush's god is not mine. I prefer to have Bush make decisions that effect my life, not his god. Religion and faith is a very dangerous thing when put in the hands of a person with power. Bush right now has more power than anyone else on this planet. And he has rather conservative, close minded beliefs. There is another man out there right now that believes his god has told him to strike against the infidels. There is a fine line between leader and lunatic when the person is admiting conversations with an entity that has no voice. Reminder: Beliefs have been the reason behind more deaths than anything else. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... They took off from level ground with the engine. I had the same thought about the ultralight, however, this was instant up, steep climb if they wanted it. Almost zero runway space needed. Plus, no wheels, so any surface would work. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again.....

Just watching Tech TV, and they showed a bunch of hang gliders that hooked up a small jet engine to the back. And they say bored skydivers are dangerous. The program went so far as to point out there were no deaths or injuries. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... All the lockers are up against the wall at SDC. About 150 lockers. Mine is on the floor, so it always has the cool cement below it - never any direct sunlight in there. However, I did actually bring my stuff home this week..... _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... NYPD Shut down car rental-weapons found
ChasingBlueSky replied to ChasingBlueSky's topic in The Bonfire
They have mentioned that 8 blocks around the area is closed off. They mentioned they still saw airplane movement....so hopefully not affecting travel. The fact that someone called this in makes this feel fake. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... NYPD Shut down car rental-weapons found
ChasingBlueSky replied to ChasingBlueSky's topic in The Bonfire
Watching CNN right now - outside of LaGuardia Airport - they are reporting they found "one firearm" in a rental car, and are now looking for explosives. Guess someone called the cops and said there was a "susupicious vehical." Edit to add: The car was across the street from the rental place. Cops now saying there was "an unusual device" in the car. For those in NY - CNN is saying this is on 95th and Bitmore(sp?) Why do I have a feeling this is going to happen a few more times this holiday weekend? Panic or real? _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again..... -
Well, I gave him my last Diet Pepsi. Hug? Hell no, its about 100F up on my roof - I'm not gonna hug some sweaty guy. Well, I had a hard enough time asking him if he wanted a pepsi, so the jumping was out of the question. I HAVE TV AGAIN!!! woohoo! _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again.....

Numerous? Such as? I do have to admit - prob the best integrated CGI in a movie in a very long time. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again.....

Always pack at the dz, sometime during the day i do a full inspection on my rig...usually after lunch or after last jump of day. I never leave my rig unpacked since I don't want to chance the brake lines getting tangled or the fabric ripped. Also, I almost never bring my gear home. It's great to have a secure locker at the dz. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again.....

Think the booties helps that one guy with his hop-n-pop/swoop? Intersting to watch these guys do really quick, jerky control inputs and their canopies don't even respond. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... Noticed something on the PD site today I don't think I have paid any real attention to in the past: Vengeance, the first in a series of airlocked canopies from PD http://www.performancedesigns.com/vengeance.htm _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... Yea me too!...mike I was just recently told it might be a good idea to be at Rantoul....hint hint. Also - had a talk with one of the biggies at PD a couple years ago right when the Crossfire came out... Asked him if he was going to update the Stiletto or come out with a 27 cell. His response was that they had been testing those designs for a while and they would only be release if their was a demand from the market place. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me....
