I purchased a new car at the end of Jan. A couple days ago JD Power sent me a postcard informing me they were sending me a survey to fill out to help them understand what I found helpful during the purchase process. They mentioned they would include a token to show their appreciation. Today this huge envelope with one of the largest surveys I have ever seen shows up. As I am taking all of this out of the envelope, their "token" falls out and floats to the floor. A crisp, brand new one-dollar bill. I played with one of those at the Sony Store not too long ago....Damn nice monitor. Bill, Let us know how this works out - my friends and I have been talking about this ever since we returned from Mexico and saw the fairly simple setup down there at the place we stayed. What I haven't been able to find online is the Total Cost of Ownership for the setup to compare it to the long term savings buying from the grid. I hear ya on this one - Dad smoked about 2-3 packs a day in the house, and later on one brother and one sister smoked in the house. During that time I had Pneumonia 12 times and countless infections in my lungs. I lost count of the chest x-rays, hospital stays, etc..... Moved out 5 years ago, there is no smoking in my car, camper or apartment. Divx players were cheaper than the ones Best Buy was selling at the time, and they played DVD format as well. The concept was a bit to hard to understand, one of the reasons consumers didn't support it. $2? Hmm, if that is so, I would be all for this - as long as it still came with digital sound. I doubt all the extras will come with it. However, would a company be able to make a profit on a $2 chemically enhanced, specially marketed DVD? Here is a good thing about being a packer and full time resident at SDC (I did the same thing two summer's ago): you can make the loads during the week. The bad thing - you barely get a chance to jump on the weekends. Not too much within walking distance as far as jobs go, and there is a payphone in the laundry room. are you on NTFS or FAT32 - that will also effect how security is handled. But they are right - log on as admin and take ownership. Have you seen the new KTA board? The 600A I think it is - outclocks the nForce2 in every area. I have a pcbv2.0 Asus nForce2 deluxe myself - running both IDE drives off SATA converters - running my Thunder-A 2000+ at spec right now. System hauls ass as it is. I agree - you could build a much cheaper Athlon system. Just looking at that - I would change out the Thermaltake - I have one, and I have seen better active cooling HSF combos, no need for an audigy 2, esp since secure digital rights will is hard coded into it - Audigy or the Sound Storm that comes on board with the nForce2. The 9800 ATI pro is sweet but will becoming down in price as soon as the next R3xx core comes out next month. Spoiler talk Seen the movie twice now - and playing the game as well. Have a few thoughts on it - more may come as I think about it. And what about the kiss? Don't suppose the lipstick was a program do ya? Hmmm...maybe that allowed the one to use his powers in Zion? I believe a big part to guessing what happens next is in the Pesephone and Merovigian story line. Read up on what those two are (I may have spelled them wrong). Persephone was married to Hades and trapped in the uderworld and was ofter overshadowed by her mother and was the daugher of Zues. Merovigian may be a descendant or an offshot of one of the original "One's" - or for some reason he is directly connected to the one is some manner (I've survived all your predecessors). But all he wants is more power now, much like the Oracle mentioned. Persephone, trapped in this hell of a crashing/rebuilding Matrix finally wants it to end, and sees the love between Neo/Trinity and it reminds her of the love she once knew. Merovigian - couple things there - a group of kings over an area that eventually became France. Also - they were an order tasked with protecting the Holy Grail who's lineage comes from the Templar Knights. Also, they were believed to have magical powers and be of direct lineage of Jesus (divine orgin? related to the One?). Also, some stories of them all thru history and in Atlantis. Seraphines are of the highest order of angels. Why would the Oracle have many enemies? Why would the agents try to kill Neo if they need him to get to the source? What exactly does Smith want now? He is a free agent now (pun?) with his own agenda that works against what the matrix wants. But what is it that he wants - he talks about purpose, but never gets further than that. My guess - the full destruction of humanity so he has the matrix to himself. Neo isn't a savior, he is a puppet. 99% of people will allow the illusion of choice to keep them in the matrix, but there is that one percent that can't - so the machines have built in there own backup plan and recycle bin. They created Zion as a recycle bin to get rid of those that can't accept. Zion is most likely fake as well. Intersting that the architect says that he needs to choose 23 to rebuild Zion, not the Matrix. Why is that? Why does the architect want to diseminate the code and redistrubute it into the matrix and zion? Did anyone else catch the huge amount of foreshadow in the engineer section? Yea, lots of talk about control and destruction - but more of a realization that a balance between both sides is needed. You really want some insight on the movie - do a search on what their names mean. A few of us sat down last night a figured them all out....but since everyone hasn't seen the movie yet I won't put spoilers on here.. PM me if you want to hear some of the stuff we figured out - a lot of the answers were there in the first film, and we think there are a lot in this one as well. I still have a mark on my inner left leg that is healing from a friendly fire incident a couple of weeks ago. I own a few markers, and my whuffo friends are heavily into it. They have some serious custom guns and sniper mods. Personally, I want a new A-5 with the flatline barrell! I fired one last week and instantly fell in love with it. Come on out - it's a great place and a few DZ.com folk out there as well. As far as night jumps - I was as scared for my first one as I was for my first jump. Now, I love them and do as many as I can in a year. At last count I think I had 23 night jumps. I'm still a bit nervous before each one, but once I am in the air I'm laughing all the way to the ground. They really are that amazing. For the first timers - make sure you ask about moon shadow, it is a very real thing and I have seen a couple people ger hurt because of it. The WRX always gets great reviews, and if I could have afforded higher payments I would have gotten either the WRX or the Mazda6. The Neon SRT is getting some fantastic reviews as well - I have the 2003 SXT Neon with almost 10,000 miles on it (purchased it Jan 26th) and its a great little car and holds up well. No real complaints. The RSX seemed a little small inside for my taste, but its also a nice car. My roommate has been looking at the Nissan Maxima (03 and the very expensive 04 model) and loves both versions. Also the VW Jetta and Passat are great cars as well. Hulk - Heard Lou was going to play a security guard. Doubt you can miss that guy, or that they would hide him much. Kinda like all the Stan Lee cameo's in the movies. [geek on] I collected comics up until college. Xmen was always my favorite. For some reason, I didn't care too much for X1 - but X2 was fantastic IMO. Good use of most of the characters, while some very major characters had very limited screen time. Most of the characters held true to the books (Pyro still needs a source to control) - but I felt all the artistic takes on the characters were well thought out (ike Kurt Vagner and Stryker who is a reimagination of Gyrich) - and at this point, can you really be upset that Bobby Drake isn't in the original line up, and is essentially a New Mutant (btw- I hope they never do the Nathan Dayspring/Cable/Stryfe story line, it just wouldn't play out well on screen - but look for the brief mention of Franklin Richards :)) Btw - can I tell you they nailed the -BAMPF- sound? And yea - they didn't use the re-entry from Space, but it was still the choice that mattered (also, I don't think the Shi'ar-Krell war would play out either). I don't think most of the non-comic audience will understand what happened however-too subtle. My hope for the next movie? Introduce Genosha Island, Muir Island, Havok (maybe even Mr Sinister), Beast, Gambit, mutant slaves, Mutant 147-aka wipeout. I think showing what Genosha does is a logical progression on the whole "coming war" theme they have been working on. Maybe even a sentinel??? End the move with Magneto and his Brotherhood taking over the island and running it. Start to mix in the Phoenix in X3, and you would have a good start for the Age of Apocoplypse and Dark Phoenix in X4 and X5. I couldn't tape it since my family didn't get a VCR until after I moved out of the house. Always found that strange - first on the block in the 80's to get cable, but never anything else. So on the nights I was allowed to stay up and watch it - I did. Testament? Wow....now I need to go find those old tapes. Haven't listened to them in years. Same with Suicidal Tendancies.
