Great movie. Same pacing as Gladiator, almost. Interesting that they took two books from the series for the title of the movie. Rain and snow both hurt - ice just feels more like needles. Coolest jump I have done in the winter - opened up just as some clouds started to roll in. I was just at level with the clouds around 2k when it started to snow!!! Sun behind me, clouds and snow in front of me. I know they have been in business for a long time - but three out of the four times I used that company, I received the same treatment - two of the times I was at the store in person to purchase an item (4 video tapes first time, full face helmet second time) I was told I should go home and order it from there and they would ship it to me. Huh? I asked if it was there in stock and he told me "yea, but we can mail it to you and you will have it tomorrow." I was sold the video tapes, but I had to ask for another person to help me out when it came to the helmet (he refused to get the helmet from the back). Oh yea, the store wasn't busy - it was the middle of the afternoon. I have never used them since. Three strikes. I've been car shopping twice in the last two years - which includes my recent trips looking at the 04 Prius (which is a kick ass car, the Civic has NOTHING on this thing). So far I've have nothing but great things to say about the salesman - not one slimmy one, and the one tonight was down right helpful. I'm not sure how to go about getting into Real Estate here in IL, but I'm sure with Google I can figure that out later. I'm certain the car sales route would be the easier and quicker route....but real estate would pay off better in the end. Not sure I want to fully trust my income on markets that fully rely upon the economy.....or if I did, how hard is it to survive in the rough times. I've been pondering a 2nd job to help make some extra cash. I'm sure I could try to find some sort of IT job, but I am really burned out on that field. I've also spent the majority of my jobs in communication or sales positions. I'm curious to hear from anyone that may have tried out or currently are in these jobs - what do you think? Been doing some thinking on this movie today since I may go see it again tonight. EDIT TO ADD _---MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW--- Some thoughts: They have a MMORPG (Massive Multi-Player Online Roll Playing Game) coming out that takes place after Revolutions in the matrix. WB has a successful franchise on their hands, why would they let it come to a full end? In Reloaded the elder spokesman took Neo to the basement and showed him that we needed machines to survive, much like they needed us to survive. That is why Neo asked for a truce, not the end of the Matrix - they needed to find balance. Which, if you go back to AniMatrix a truce or balance would have prevented The Matrix. The Machines couldn't punch thru the clouds and harvest the sun due to the lightning storms that would disable them (but not the Logos?). Agent Smith spent the entire movie making fun of, and removing any need of philosophy, deeper meaning, etc. Did the W Brothers pull a fast one on all the fan boys and the world? Think about what Smith said in that pit? "Why, Mr Anderson, WHY? Because of Love? Faith, etc...." Or in the kitchen how over the top he went mocking the Oracle. They mocked the fake depth they added to the series in Reloaded. The ending finally dawned on me - what the Oracle said to the Architect. "What about the ones that want to leave?" In other words, they have a choice now, or at least the illusion of choice, which is what she wanted all along. If you think about it - if humans are given a choice of the Matrix or The Real World, there wouldn't be a need to reset the Matrix all the time, humanity would embrace the fake world. DLP is cool - saw Attack of Clones there, however, there is a warmness missing from DLP that you only seem to get from film - I wish Lucas hadn't convinced Spielburg to do Indy 4 on DLP. Still, I will go see Matrix on IMAX tonight and let you know how much they chopped from the film so it could fit the 2 hour IMAX limitation. Dave, the movie was 2 hours and 9 minutes long - even for a wrap up movie, that was too long to go without more story - for a wrap up movie they wrapped up two things - the Smith line, and bringing Peace to the Matrix. That leaves EVERYTHING else to be answered. There was a lot in the movie that was pointless, such as the trainman, the train station, going to Hell. (I still think the Rave scene should have been cut from Reloaded and the Osiris story line should have been put in the movie instead). I was one of those people that didn't think Reloaded was bad since it was "the setup movie, the middle movie".....if they had spiked the ball they setup in Reloaded, then I would have LOVED Revolutions. Instead, they do almost nothing with the characters introduced in the 2nd movie, spend more time with characters introduced in a lousy video game (trainman, the indian-programs, Sati), and leave you feeling like this movie was a setup for a TV show or something like that.
