Keith I am so sorry for your loss, but you gave Scooter the best possible chance with all you did for him, please trust in that. The reason Furosemide works in heart failure is it makes the body clear the fluid that has acummulated in the lungs due to the heart's lack of ability to clear it itself with normal circulation. So while he was not 'in heart failure' the only way to clear the fluid (and quickly provide relief) would be to either draw it off physically (thoracentesis-which presents a WHOLE bunch more complications in an already compromised patient) or give the drug to make the body clear it (the safest option). It is highly effective, I have seen it help thousands of patients, and never had an adverse reaction to it (just makes them urinate A LOT more). Tyring to humanize them does not make them any less guilty. You are living in the real world and as such you can't be too surprised when you have to be responsible for your actions. While I can appreciate your unbiased view on the subject.... I do understand what goes into 'the making of that magazine', the costs, the expenses, and so forth. I also clearly understand where the revenues are generated. I also very intricately understand business budgets, costs, and revenues. I posted my opinion on the matter and I respect that some of you do not share my opinion - doesn't change my view. I can buy a full page ad full color in a premium location in several medical journals for less than a memorial page in Parachutist. Funny how that works. We also live in a society where people follow blind faith without questioning and improving their world, but to each his own!
