I really enjoyed it. As a Fire Fighter myself I appreciated alot of the little things that was shown that is kind of a inside joke to us. I also realize that being a tv show there had to be some bull shit included. Overall I give it a 8 on firehouse accuracy, 6 on fire scene accuracy 10 on comedy, and a 5 on person accuracy b.c. I have never seen anyone allow someone to drink alcohol(hard liquor anyways) around a firehouse. Cant wait till next season to see how the woman works out with the guys.

I broke my tailbone while trying to slide out a rear riser landing(broken steering lines). I would rather do a baseball slide on my leg or plf than experience that type of pain for months again.

I have been thinking about a group(1-5+) getting together in single file holding on to the legs of the person in front of them, and then everyone straighten their legs out to go into a track. Has anyone tried that, what would be the results? Would it be faster then a solo track even though your hands are not back, due to a "nascar" drafting, pushing effect? Or would it just be plain fun to try? I was thinking of 2 types of grips, you could have the person keep their legs straight out, and you grab their feet, which would have your arms stretched out in front of you(backslide postion). That would seem to take some of the speed out of it. The other position was to have the person infront of you hold their legs in a V and you pretty much have the top of your head between their legs, this allows you to being your arms more towards your body which is more "pro-track" that the above grips. It seems that it would work better if you line up like this trackers front to slower tracker rear configuration. I would like to see how this would work out in the air. I have done dives called the "shredder" where 2 jumper are facing each others feet, holding on to the others leg straps in their right hand. Out the door both jumpers go into a hard track with the left hand by their side. You start holding the other person at your side, then as you spin faster you cannot hold it, and you relax to arms length. Finally you cannot hold a grip any longer, and the 2 jumper blow apart in 2 directions. Then you try and redock with eachother. IT is fun.

How about a program that takes the "skydiving playbook" and puts it into a computer with a "magic 8 ball" feature that you can hit a button, and get a random exit, formation decided for you.

I had one that was herrrindous! The chick started to sense that I was about to break up with her, so she started saying she was pregnant, and started threating me with all that crap. I was scared at first thinking ooh shit I am with this crazy bitch/stalker and now she might be pregnant. Well come to find out she was lying, and could not understand why I was pissed at her and would not talk. She even went to my fathers work often to talk to him about me?? We only dated for a few months AHHHHH!! Then this girl I dated for 3 years up and left town to visit her "relatives" without telling me anything. After 2 weeks of no contact with her, I started to get worried, and phoned her father that verified the same story. Come to find out his sorry ass was covering for her while she went away with some asshat she was trying to marry I guess. The dude was way older than her and had her under the I am older and know and own all kinda shit spell. He screwed her over and I laughed pretty hard, then took her back out of habit. Then she did it to me again and that sucked....the end

An auto-drain for an ice chest. It sucks to have things in an ice chest that needs to stay cold, but dry I.E. sandwiches. Once the drain senses that there is more than a inch or 2 of water in it it kicks open the valve and drains the ice chest. You could even make it portable, it just slips in the existing hole in the ice chest.... OOH wait or you could just leave the plug pulled.... Oh how about canopy packing machine. I heard that once was being worked on, but was not perfected yet. An auto defogger for full face helmets, like the ones in a paintball mask. It has little fans that blow on the face shield to keep it defogged. How about a cheaper full faced helmet that actually provides protection from something more than a shoe kick, or a bump on the exit door. As far as every day needs go, a better way to clean the floors would be nice. The swifter? company has a good idea, but the little broom/mop heads keep comming off the damn handle. The articulating(sp) joint is crappily made, and pops off every time you put it in a bind. I sweep the floors , then run the wet pad over the ceramic tiles to get it cleaner, and hate how the head comes off 3 or 4 times. I have bought 3 of the damn things to see if it was a defect, but it sems to be a defect all have. The wipey mop sweepers are a quick alternative to a full fledge mop and bucket, with the cans of cleaner that you pop into the handle to spray tough spots is nice. I have even seen a new one that has a vaccum cleaner in front of the wet wipey sweeper. They are the only ones that I have mostly seen on the market. If someone could improve upon their flaws, and join the market, I think that would be great.

I cant help there, but there is a site I have saved at home that will do a pretty good job of that. You enter the site you want to be translated and it opens as if it were intended to be shown in english. It misses a few words here and there, but overall you can understand what is being said.

I have spent 8 years as a firefighter ans I still dont know what I want to do. Spending 120 days away from wife and home, and to this date all I have brought home money wise after taxes is $15,700. I have all the certifications, I am a leader of the search and rescue dive team, but I feel cheated doing this line of work. I can only imagine how wife feels. I know I know every one says you chose this line of work and you know how much it paid when you got into it, but DAMN it hurts when you spend all that time away from home, spend all day and night going to calls where 25% of the people do not appreciate what you are trying to do FOR them and only get paid that ammout. I went to a call last night on a wreck, and a driver of a car wating in line after I blocked one lane of the road off for safety had the nerve to come up to me yelling and telling my to move the truck.....I was like I will move the FIRETRUCK when I am done helping the INJURED person in the WRECKED car that is IN a WATER FILLED DITCH! In short(my vent lol) I know how you feel.
