  1. No argument here Wendy. I frequently have to check a printed spreadsheet to convert between the two when building model airplanes.
  2. . Well good then because I'm not a cop i'm a full time firefighter since 2001...
  3. This shows you have no clue about swat tactics. You cut off the utilities first...no gas no electricity, no water..... They diddn't use c4 shape, or strip charges to explosively breach, looked like a ram attachment to push in the holes. There would have been little life threat to anyone inside. Trust me your over your head in understanding the tactics. This is where I used to work as a contractor. http://m.state.gov/mc8583.htm
  4. Who cares if we know or not, what does that change? Is there a special magic that happens if everyone knows we switch to metric instantly?
  5. Ooh yeah how many times a week does people barricade themselves up with guns in your neck of the woods? What's the standard SOP over there for such an incident?
  6. Ok the article on reddit never said the dispatcher got the kids out, it just said he took hostages. I bet they tried gassing through the existng windows but he barricaded himself in interior rooms with so they made exterior openings to get the gas in or flush him out. Another option was to cut utilities off, and sit there with a negotiatior for however many days it took this dude to come out peacefully, comit suicide, or go out by suicide by cop. The next option was a static or dynamic entry by swat....it probably would not have ended without someone getting shot. As for the man saying $250,000 damages....bahahahaha really!
  7. If you were the man whose wife and child were inside with a gunman who already fired shots at police then took them as hostage what would you have wanted them to do?
  8. We tried water in the 60's it wasn't a hit with some.
  9. Understanding that I think we both agree the book was written as a story, and not a historical documentation of a magical flying man, do you agree that there are topics, and stories inside that are actually a good way to live by if your smart enough to filter out the BS and crazy parts? Such as not killing, not stealing, how to treat one another kindly, etc, etc.
  10. Here is a great breakdown of what happened frame by frame. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lw1DSiJ5hEc -The cops stage and make a plan on contacting the subjects that met the description of persons brandishing a firearm -The cops pull up with their lights on all three subjects are outside and all notice the cops are there, and 2 of the 3 raise their hands -Dillon turns around and starts walking down the sidewalk while the others continue to keep their hands up. -Both officers are surrounding him, and are yelling commands, and one officer is in front and off to the side of him and witnesses agreed. FRAME BY FRAME ENDS HERE From the other original video you can stop/start pausing it and see the rest described below. -Dillon puts his hands inside his waistband, and at that time both officers pull out their weapons without even having to coordinate that. -Dillon turns around with both hands buried inside his waistband continues to walk backwards. -He then pulls both hands up in a rather rapid manner and the cop shoots. Total time from Dillon seeing the cops till he was shot 24 seconds. He knew the cops were there and not for a soda from the get go, his friends froze and raised their hands, he stuck his hands in his pants, and then turned around. Although none of it illegal it was a stupid fucking thing to do.
  11. Sorry thought it was more of a statement than question. Yes you go through training like that. When your doing your use of force training your always switching between officer/suspect. There are also shoot houses set up like any number of buildings, vehicles set up to do traffic stops. When doing that training sometimes the lights are dim, and everyone uses hearing and eye protection so you can't really hear or see. I have also been a role player for the state departments ATAP program and been subject to surprise raids by military and police officers from around the world, and have been on the receiving end of this many times. They can't just shoot an innocent role player they have to respond to actions we do, while instructors are above watching. If I comply they have to also, if I'm behind a couch and stand up with my back facing them I can't be shot in the back, etc etc. You are taught that under stress hearing is one of the first things to go then fine motor control, and vision last. That's why officers are taught to give loud simple commands so people can understand and hear you with the added benefit of witnesses also hearing the officers commands for later. I you are supposed to play out the use of force properly, and give loud commands and ample time to respond, which this cop did not do. I can't go look at the video right now or I will loose everything I just typed, but I want to see how long it was from the time the guy noticed the cops, they approached him, and the the first shot. Once again this cop was wrong if anyone continues to think I am defending him.
  12. Are you religious in any way?
  13. You guys should write this down, it sounds like it would make a best selling book.
  14. Here's a hint you missed the point of what was trying to be said to try and pin me down on some irrelevantly accurate number so I purposly toyed with you. You to this day still miss the fact that The only thing that was trying to be said was the starting point certainly isn't 75k everywhere......
  15. I have plenty of gay family members, and co workers, and friends, and skydivers. They are not running around throwing glitter in the air and preaching about how different they are. These people that do that erk me on the level of a cross fitter, or marathon runner that always feel the need to slip it into every conversation is what I'm getting at. Why voice it on an opinion forum? It's my opinion on the topic. Like I said before make everyone equal as far as laws go, and quit making it the prime news spot.
  16. I couldn't give a damn less about gays, lesbians, transgender, transsexual, etc, etc. Just quit shoving it in my face on tv, radio, and internet already. This Bruce Jenner or however you spell shit is out of control. Make everyone equal and then quit fucking talking about it. The only thing thats worse these days is those nasty quit smoking ads. Especially the one where the dude has the trachea port, and its all slimy and hes cleaning it. Then the other one about vaginal wall collapsing and talking about mesh and rebar footings, or something.....ewww
  17. He was 20 years old. A 20 year old can vote, go to war, be charged as an adult, and go to real person jail, not juvie.. You click baited everyone here with that title. You cant possibly have a hard time understanding that can you? You dont happen to work for a media outlet, or web ad design firm do you? Might have a very good career making misleading titles. Now back to the topic. "Cop MIRDERS unarmed kid in cold blood."
  18. Headoverheels Me Headoverheels Me The point is he stated the starting salary there was $75K, I recognized something out of the ordinary, and realized it was San Jose, and it was an unusually high cost of living area and that's why the starting salary was that high, I then used the link to show the range was from 35K-85K start to retirement in the US. From there you stepped in and started nit picking to the point no one knew what we were talking about anymore and the thread died at 3 pages. I AM DONE WITH THIS TOPIC WITH YOU, go back and read the damn thread if you wish the things I posted above were what I was referring to.
  19. Yeah less than the $75k the person I was talking with said they get paid starting out which was what I was getting at. I took it as $35k average it might have been 45,261.11 and a free coupon for doughnuts, but the point is and your missing it is that the average wasn't $75,000 as he thought....I was right, this cop was wrong, and you can't see the forest but for the trees. I'm not responding to this again.
  20. What opposing argument? I have stated I think 3 times here the cop was wrong. I'm simply showing how it came about. There is a history of cops getting shot by citizens("as is citizens by cops" hur hur got that reply out of the way for you). It usually starts with failure to obey commands, sometimes the person is turned away, especially if they are doing both and have their hands inside thieir pants where weapons are carried. Combine that with cops that are actually looking for a person that fits that description who was just brandishing a weapon and you have a really good chance at this happening. It isn't supprising to me given the nature of the game. Once again as I said before it will be overlooked that I AGREE THE COP WAS WRONG.
  21. That MAN got shot because this cop got shot https://youtu.be/q4lkK0Si-1g?t=43s And this cop got shot https://youtu.be/_IIt4mwFe04?t=22s And this cop got shot https://youtu.be/i4FbLm99znU?t=1m46s And this cop got shot https://youtu.be/b5qDRDPI2xQ?t=26s I could go on and on, but lets not line the pockets of those youtube users. What would you do in those situations? Too late your dead..... You act like the mayor that wants a new police SOP that states you have to get shot or shot at first to return fire....I think that's the only thing that will make people like you happy. You cant just accept the fact that sometimes shit just happens due to the situation lining up just right, and the operator of the weapon being a human and not a robot. A cop responds to a call of someone brandishing a firearm, guy is walking away, turns around to see multiple cop cars, cops approaching him yelling, and he puts both hands in his waistband.... From what I have shown you above it takes a FRACTION of a second for someone to draw and shoot on you when they already have their hands on the weapon as this person might have already had. He was wrong, and it still amazes me how people like you are "shocked" that something like this could happen...its a bag of bones with a sack of jelly making a fractional second decision of life or death. Its funny when people bitch because they get hardcore training and good weapons, then also bitch that they are under trained, stupid, and should never be a cop.....I get it, I get it.
  22. No he is an idot just like all people who think they are sovereign citizens and laws do not apply to them. Like I said in the other thread when I posted this video, the driver failed to stop and identify his window was about to get busted...
  23. Just caught your thread title.....cop shoots unarmed kid. Wtf he was 20 years old!!!!!!
  24. Ok just asking, all you hear about is BUSH lied, but all he did was embellish what was fed to him by the CIA. I have never personally heard anything ever happen to the CIA over it either.
