Maybe its because most of them know us from the medical field, thats why the question was polled. Do you deny that it is rampant for doctors to phone in an antibotic?

Its pretty simple Norm. Either you or a family member has had a RX called in by a doctor without out coming in or not. Its a yes or no. I put in the narcotics because you cant phone those in it requires a hard copy AFAIK.

I was born with Psoriasis. I have used certain topical creams and lotions for as long as I can remember. Every time I need a renewal, the Dermatologist will not renew the script without me coming in for a visit. This is not just my current Dermo, but every one I have ever had (many over the years). It is absurd that I have used the same stuff for over 10 years and yet they will not renew without a checkup. It is an auto-immune condition, they know I have it, they know the topicals that I have used and what they do. There is absolutely no reason for me to come in there for a visit unless I have some new development and yet, there I go taking time off of work to make go see the doc just to get a script. There is no question, that is just about revenue for the Doc. You're forgetting something important - liability. It's your doctor's chop that's going on the prescription form. Were I a medical professional, due diligence would be to schedule periodic revisits. Some medications do lose their effectiveness over time, for example. Naturally I know nothing of your case, and I had the same problem trying to get refills when I was overseas, but one time I lucked out and had a doc in Kuwait give me a year's worth of a med because he knew I was going to Djibouti and couldn't get it there. Just my $.02... mh . Some times that comes into play, and most of the time it doesn't. There isn't much liability for things like heartburn and allergy meds, and if it stops working you make an apt and get it fixed, but you might never need it to be done.

I appreciate the immediate action, the issue is on the follow up. Let me puty it this way, if you had been shot and injured, would you have been able to stop and get help at that point? Both are potential deadly incidents, both really need the same level of action. Not doing so is a violation on your employers side. What is your argument here?
