I think you are confusing testing for presence verses testing for concentration. If trace amounts are detected they will not be able to establish impairment in court any more than they can for 0.001 ppm alcohol.

Chainsaws don't kill people, trees do.

Last year full price (~$32US 206/182 11,000). First time in six years I had to pay anything.

So you think it is OK to carry highly explosive materials aboard commercial flights? Think of the children.

The woman is definitely too small to be jumping with this guy. The main side guy may be as well. Neither one of them had any reason to let go of this guy as he was stable when they did; inverted but stable. Good thing he fixed it himself because they would have been no help to him. What I also found strange was the casual way the main side guy re-docked. If you are main side and you lose your guy you do not need a smooth dock, you need an immediate dock.

Although traces of THC remain, they do not remain at toxic levels. If the levels were high enough to indicate legal impairment he deserves to be charged thus.

There are two reasons not to leave them dangling. The first one is the case of the canopy wrap where the TM and passenger suffered broken necks after cutaway due to them hinging on the upper clips. Although I do not do tandem crw I do occasionally engage in proximity flying. When I do I always reconnect the lowers. The other scenario is when you are spiraling after releasing the lowers the hook to the inside of the spiral can (and apparently has) catch the steering line causing an uncontrollable canopy that cannot be cut away. In my experience this is not a problem with a thin passenger as the strap is not long enough to be a problem. For thicker passengers I do them back up after extending them. I do however re-release them once I enter the pattern. One rather thick TE told me he sticks them between him and the passenger and they stay there. This method does not work for me due to my svelte form (well, compared to him anyway).

On a related note Amy M. is oh so happy to be home and out of the desert.

i would boo Vick, but that's just because he is an Eagle. Seriously, I think the punishment he served was appropriate for the crime. He served it and now is trying to rebuild his career. By the way is not the first sports star to be in the dog-fighting business. - In the 90s Nate Newton proudly claimed to be breeding American Pitt Bulls and was arrested in 1991 at a dog fight. -Clinton Portis defended Vick to the press saying dog fighting was just part of southern culture and if on private property was no one else's business. -LeSean Johnson received a 5 year deferred sentence in 2005 for owning an operation where 200 dogs were seized. That's right a deferred sentence. - Basketball player Quyntel Woods (Portland) received 12months probation and community hours for hosting a dog fight. --USC running back coach Todd McNair has been twice convicted of cruelty but not convicted (charged) with keeping dogs for fighting. 17 adults and 5 puppies were found. Fine and Community hours.

New York Times article about American Muslim terrorists
Andrewwhyte replied to SpeedRacer's topic in Speakers Corner
I don't think we should underestimate the importance of this event. Many, many Americans feel that most or all Muslims are at least complicit by silence with terrorism. These Americans have stood up (not without fear of violent reprisal) and said loudly "This is not what Islam is all about!. The local Imams are telling their congregations (and the TV cameras) that they must fight extremism in their own communities. I think this will be sen historically as an important thing. -
Italian president gets a toothjob and a nosejob...
Andrewwhyte replied to piisfish's topic in Speakers Corner
Random violence toward politicians can only lead to a further isolation of the powerful from the rest of the people. I fail to see where this is good. For every Italian who hates that guy, I guarantee there is another willing to assault whoever replaces him. -
No way of knowing that. Michael Irvin's marriage lasted.

But that has nothing to do with the seasons. Christmas isn't actually a season either.

No, the holidays evolved out of Saturnalia. The tradition of bringing trees indoors is a winter solstice celebration of pagan Germanic origin. There you go, fucking everything up with facts again.

Full Face vs Open Face Helmet Question?

Iad's suck with a full face, so does teaching spotting. Other than that I prefer it on all jumps. -

SIM 3-1 E. 2. Persons holding a USPA B license are able to exercise all privileges of an A-license holder, perform night jumps, with 100 jumps are eligible for the USPA Coach Rating, and must have- -
Riggerrob's predecessor for that area did just that in one case I know of. When asked for a course he told the guy he would need an official transcript of his criminal record. No one knows for sure but a birdie had whispered in his ear something about previous sex crimes. No rating was ever given.

Where does it say no night tandems? you are correct, providing the passenger has a B-license. -
As I said, question all data. Being a scientist doesn't mean he's right. But not being a scientist means the best he can do is quote someone else's (a scientist perhaps) work.
-
What about service charges? Did those fuckers pay service charges?
-
Why? If you are interested in the truth you will question all data, not just that you disagree with. More importantly you will limit your inquiries to people whose training indicates they might know something. ie scientists.

Jumper Integrity & Logbook Veracity
Andrewwhyte replied to GLIDEANGLE's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Since night tandems are not allowed it still makes no sense. Accuracy requirements make sense for tandem, PROs and wingsuiters and probably should be tightened, but night jumps, not so much.
