  1. Not sure. Do you believe every word of the bible is the literal truth? If so then no more inquisition nor interpretation is necessary, you are a fundamentalist. If not then no you are not.
  2. Deist sounds about right. It seems you clearly believe in a god, just not the Judeo-Christian one. You seem to be unsure of the nature of your god, but so are most of the great Hebrew, Christian, Islamic etc. scholars throughout history. Only the fundamentalist fools think they have it all figured out. Back when I considered myself agnostic I really wasn't sure whether there was anything there or not. Then I did the math and rounded the probability to the nearest significant figure. P(supernatural creator)=0. It does not mean I have reached a religious style belief in not God; It merely means I have come to a conclusion based upon the available evidence. If more evidence becomes available I will reconsider.
  3. The 182 poised exit is one I refuse to do; if the student goes up you grind your pack against the door. This can happen at any time during climb out, no matter what exit you are doing. True but the motion if I am diving out will not catch my reserve flap.
  4. Where are all the lithium mines and is there enough on the planet to do this?
  5. The 182 poised exit is one I refuse to do; if the student goes up you grind your pack against the door. It is also the one that is hardest on the TMs back if the student isn't helping.
  6. I think you are making some mistakes about the tie-breakers. 1) Division records do not count for wildcard tie-breakers, conference records do. 2) head to head records only count if they include ALL tied parties.
  7. As long as the power comes from a coal driven power plant there is nothing green about it.
  8. As much as I hate the Redskins I had to feel sorry for Campbell last night. He deserves a little protection now and then. But only a little.
  9. The Church of England is a large institution, steal from them.
  10. WTF? Of course they count. 7 of my 10 were tandems.
  11. Legalization would have to come at the federal level to be effective. States could keep their own laws if they wanted to but would quickly find it untenable. The cost of trying to keep pot out of (say) Mississippi if it was legal in Tennessee would cripple the government. Add some tax dollars for the coffers of the legal states and it would be fait accompli. Prohibition ended in Canada on a province by province basis and the domino effect was quick and unstoppable as soon as Quebec registered the country's only surplus budget when they led the way. I do think the fall in revenue would further destabilize Mexico and British Columbia in the short run.
  12. The federal and local government worked very hard to fight all the gangsters and put them in prison. To shut down their illicit networks and trade. As history has shown, it didn't work over night and it is still a fight that is being fought. The mob is still active, but not as overtly violent as they had been. So, now how would we accomplish the same with large Mexican Cartels? The same cartels that are more heavily armed then many nations. The same cartels that employ rogue Mexican and rogue US Special Forces. Watching the historical trend over the last 30 years, it would appear that the days of the Mexican government is numbered and that an out-right civil war is imminent. The first step still seems to be to attack profits. Legalization remains the most cost effective way to do it.
  13. Assuming the bill passes this year or very early next year: Political capital is a funny beast. In order to accomplish things you need to expend it and thus people feel you owe them now. However success tends to increase your base power (not good to be on the other side from the guy who tends to win), but not always (if the perception is that the accomplishment was not what it was made out to be or that the price paid was too high). So the question is has the prez blown his load on this file and will now be so beholden to Congress Dems that their agenda becomes paramount, or has he gained a Johnsonesque ability to grab hill types by the lapels and bend them to his will?
  14. And when you are burning in Hell Bill, then and only then will you truly realize your folly.

It was either Me or Amazon. Amazon was there a positive 1999999 when you posted?
  17. It was my experience that FXC "misfires" were usually FXCs doing their job after student/novice altitude awareness failure.
  18. Where do you draw the line? Theists and Atheists? Theists and Agnostics? Christians and Muslims? Protestants and Catholics? Russian Orthodox and Greek Orthodox? Presbyterians and Baptists? LDS and FLDS? The history of religion shows us that the lack of an external faith to hate yields more and more particular sectarian divisions.
  19. Some instructors want to teach you from a "blank slate" but others expect you to have studied under a current rigger. Since you live a long way from any instructor your best bet is to get your ten practice packs in before you even find a course. That way the fly-in guy with a limited schedule can hope to finish in a reasonable window. Make sure you learn from someone who will teach you by the book though, Al MacDonald in particular will make your life miserable if he detects the slightest tendency toward innovation in a rigging candidate. If you really want a course this winter the best way is to organize the candidates yourself and then find the RI. Good luck.
  20. 50550 + 5159 = 55709 97 + 10 = 107 55709/107 = 520.64 Note: Peter if you aren't counting CRW wraps you should not count CRW jumps.
  21. The thought of good people eating Oxycodone scares the shit out of me. Lets be careful out there.
  22. I realize San Diego is a pretty benign environment but there must be some allowance for storm damage. Certainly there will be in most other locations. A few years ago Neal Houston picked up a system for his brother in Grand Prairie Alberta. This is an area that can expect several 40-60mph wind events per year as well as severe Hailstorms. I think the value of Solar in many places is limited by expected weather events as well as limitations of effective sunlight.
