The question is whether the dead guy is eligible. I doubt that the SCOTUS would rule that he is. The EC would have no choice but to choose from the eligible candidates. It would be McCain-Biden.

EVERYTHING in the US has a racial component. I helped to elect a Chinese Canadian a few years back. There were Chinese people at the party crying. Was it a racial issue? To them, yes; to me, not so much.

My parents made a point of bringing one or more kids to the polls. It was part of our education.

It is a hard decision. It's hard for everyone. If you decline to help make that decision I hope you are not going to complain about the decision that others make in your absence. You have forfeited your right to complain for 2,4 and 6 years respectively about the actions of the House, POTUS and Senate. Ten years from now if the SCOTUS makes a 5-4 decision that you don't like; one that is affected by an appointee of this president, remember, you didn't help, so shut the fuck up.

You would think that those who are would not be reading the threads. The truth is the US election is important to all of us. The US economy is still ~1/3 of the world's. The US war machine is involved in some way in virtually every conflict or potential conflict on the planet. US social values bleed through to the rest of the world incessantly. We may not have a vote, but we are all stakeholders.

Did the commissioner of baseball change the rules in the middle of a game last night? At the end of the last complete inning (the 5th) the score was 2-1 and the minimum 5 innings had been completed. I think the game was over. It would be a shitty way to end the world series, but those are the rules.
