well, there's fairly cheap direct flights into Orlando...
-
actaully that's the start of the dry season in FL. We had great weather right up until Vmax came over to train, then the skies opened up and it rained for 3 straight weeks, but that was in June
-
yes, its a NJ jumper putting it up out there, or so my sources tell me.
-
nope - i'ts only legal at state parks, not all over.
-
almost.... you can't compete in an open class at USPA nationals without a "D".....
-
yeah, that's the easiest way to do it, helps keep the canopy squished in the D-bag too.
-
Lori -- you guys made the name change eh? Viking -- there are 48 different formations in the official dive pool. many combinations of arm and leg grips. As was stated earlier, you have to have the formation (but it may not look like the "official pool picture") show control and key all at the same time.

DeLand has hosted Nationals in the past successfully (albeit a while ago).

About the same amount as: wood a woodchuck could chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood, I imagine.
-
yeah, my thoughts too, how do they know when to start the clock. That's the aircraft for the world meet next year. For 4 and 8 way -- a porter, mirrored exits and dead air included!

www.skyleague.com you need to right click and "save target as" it will download and you can watch it. man is it fast, those guys must have been tired!
-
LOL. actaully a bit! We're going to go to the ranch meet in NY this coming weekend. We'll be at the August FSL meet in DeLand though!
-
sure it would, I wasn't trying to say it wasn't

Kurt at the NSL has the video of the 42 point jump, he watched it and said there was a bust in there the judges missed, but he had to watch it in slow motion to see it, so easily missed. He expects to post it today or tomorrow. probably tuesday because he looked pretty tired when I saw him in the airport last night

I talked to Marylou over the 4th of July weekend, and although they wanted to model the 1 round meet minimum for FS, there wasn't a valid motion to do that, so they had to keep the meet minimums as they were. I expect that to change for next year (esp if nats are at Lake Whales!) All other disciplines had a motion and are at a 1 round minimum - I hope there is a good tie-breaker system.

Believe me -- I would love to ask him, unfortunately I can't.

the report in skydiving was in error, the canopy pilot ALWAYS un-did his brakes at altitude. What happened is anyones guess, but for some reason the right toggle could not be released under canopy. How do I know? I flew by him under canopy no further than 25 feet away, and my last 800-900 skydives were with him.
-
bummer on the 2nd point, but a 120 wawy is still a nice accomplishment. out of curiosity -- were there many high performance canopies/loadings on the attmepts?
-
That's interesting because the aircraft being used for the World meet in Gap France 2003 are Porters with a right hand door.

Uhhh, that's what teams do typically. first and foremost is the team and it's established goals when at the DZ. all 5 people working together. The camera guy is just as important as any other member, IMO. He (or she) is part of the team. Now, what I don't understand is why as team members, they are paid while others are not. The argument can be said that the equipment is expensive. OK, so if people are paying to cover the equipment, doesn't the equipment then belong to everyone, and if ever sold or used for something else the team would get a rebate? If the camera person is not part of the team and is getting paid for a service, they are a hired gun and would be similar to a coach or packer. again, IMO.

well, there's another movie coming out soon with skydiving (at least a cool base jumping scene) in it that defiantely doesn't look fake (at least from the trailer). Vin Diesel is in it, I forget the name.
-
Wow, that's all I can muster at this point. Stacy , I never knew.....
-
she'll need more of a hint than that, cause it happens all the time!

on the hill, absolutely!
