that particular injury is referred to as getting "gloved". we've had some guys at work get caught in ladders and that was the resultant injury. ouch.
-
panty flashing and here I thought you didn't wear any but I'm sure we can work something out!
-
back to work, eh? Yup will be there on Labor day weekend, we have our last training camp before nationals, so we'll be getting out early in consideration of everyone else I hope (dream, wish, fantisize) we can catch up there
-
Hey Elisa whatcha been up too? what Dove says is true... especially if any of the monkey boys are around! although September is usually very good weather wise.
-
I never expected it, but it was appreciated, and we helped out around there to show our gratitide (wasn't a club), the way I read the original posting -- she was manifested and then got bumped -- I can understand if it was a student, and it was getting close to sunset, yadda, yadda, but if it was another up-jumper I don't think it's right.

Wendy, Cross Keys is 25 minutes from PHL (wicked easy to get to, Walt witman to cross keys berlin exit on the atlantic city expressway, and a couple more turns and you're there), then there's Delmarva (De), parachutes are fun (de), the Herd (somewhere in PA), a little further is Skys the Limit, skydive jersey shore, Chambersburg, and a few more. Cross Keys is the place though. (skyvan, otter, caravan - 2 sometimes, biplane and that 182 you were looking for)
-
I learned at a cessna DZ, my first 200 or so jumps were out of a 182, the DZO was the tightest guy around with a penny, BUT, he would sent the plane with three people up, and he would send the plane with just a student and a JM. the experienced jumpers might have only gotten to go to 8 grand but it was a skydive. There was a manifest yourself list, and it was FIFO (first in first out). bumping someone like that is wrong, IMO.

people have used the little cleaning kits for guns to clean the inside of housings with good success. Not sure on teh freqency though. Petroleum based products could damage fabric, but since you wipe them off (you do wipe them right?), there is probably not much to worry about there.
-
uh, that would definately be a political move. bumped off for full ride studnets is one thing, but if you're manifested and get bumped by other up-jumpers that's not right in my book.

graphite can get messy - think powdered pencil lead. it's slippery though.

so there I was sitting on the picnic table last night and who comes over wearing nothing but. Oh wait, I wasn't supposed to start telling that story was I?
-
Hmmmmm, Arlo this seems to be a pattern with you, next thing you know at nationals, you'll have everyone jumping naked...
-
yes and no, depending on the container, you can downsize a main a lot (rigs with bottom of tray closing loops like the racer come to mind). you can also get a pillow added to the main packing tray to take up volume -slightly ugly but functional.

brass and stainless have a very low coefficient of friction. these have proven reliable -- there are manufacturing concerns, too, that would have to be addressed in trying to use any type of plastic. In my experience brass will discolor things, but it doesn't change the integrity of the material in question. That said, I thought Dave Brownell (of slider rebound fame) was playing with a slider that had some sort of engineered material in it where the lines went through, but can't remember exactly what he was doing (he could have also been using metal, but not as much -- if I remember correctly he was trying to make the slider lighter in weight to help with hard openings)

Majik trains in DeLand Florida -- 4way, yeah baby!
-
well, IMO, Airspeed's mentaly not ready to have someone challenge them like majik does. busts (and not busting) are very mental, and if you're not calm it's going to happen. I think that majik has gottne in their heads. I wouldn't be surprised to see them (airspeed) take bronze behind majik and the knights this year.

ah come on now Betsy at least spell it correctly!
-
Oh I've always got a lot on my mind....

www.omniskore.com for the lazy butts... Hey Arlo, what's the bet for August?
-
you may want to consider a fun dive where you concentrate on nothing, smile, look around, and pull on time! worked for me in my student progression many moons ago.
-
good replies already, as BillV said, there is a major climbing area near the ranch in NY (New Paltz area -- the Gunks). there are a few skydivers that also climb that may be able to help you out. Most notibly Jack Jefferies and his wife Orla - they're spending the summer up there, so you could look them up, too.
-
do you have the specific draw for the event? thanks for the info, I had the BPA website up, but should have refreshed it!

some planes run with a 5 degree or so attitude, so if you think you are looking straight down you may not be and 5 degrees over 13,000 feet can lead to a way different location over the ground than one thought. that could be what was meant, but heck, what do I know.

last I knew they were a canadian concern.... There is that company in canada (forget the name) that built the frankenotter and Cross Keys new otter, I'm sure they wouyld have had to include that with the mods.

that's true, PD Blue used to swing into a head down at the end of their training jumps.... was pretty cool.
