  1. Depends what the sickness is -- cough, sore throat, chest cold, that's not to bad. do not jump if you have some sort of head cold/allergy or something going on with your sinuses, blowing an eardrum or busting a sinus isn't good
  2. there was one at DeLand yesterday, and happened to be in front of me in the Van, looked to be a pretty solid rig to me.
  3. yup, I was on that one, then stayed with Solly for the rest of the day, did you get in on the formation load? that was fun, a few point 32 way.... On that first 18 way, I can't remember the formation, but I'm sure I was part of the base with Gary and Solly turning points till everyone else got there

    New York Help

Please forgive my total lack of knowledge about the New York area. We are staying at a hotel on West 44th Street. Not too far from the theater district as I understand. We'll be flying into LaGuardia. you're mid town, you're a short walk to times square, and the theaters. expect about a $30 cab ride from the airport, you can walk other places or take subway, there is not a good route to Manhatten from LGA, its strictly taxi....
  10. crap, you guys were there too?

NYC really gets revved up late night. hit all the tourist areas during the day, a lot were mentioned, something cool to do is to actually walk the brooklyn brigde.
  15. they were just at a different location and moved back didn't they? It's pretty cool that the police force has a parachute in their symbol in Orange.
  16. new "f-111" would flare the same as a Zpo canopy, it's when it starts to get porus where the differences really show, and you'd have to replace the reserve by then.

  21. on the other hand, though the old "F-111" canopies open "briskly". the newer canopies are a little more forgiving in that area. I've seen them both blow up. It is amazing, though to watch a canopy disintigrate that was sitting in the weather for a year.
  22. Doesn't ZP, when it rips, rip all the way to the seam regardless of any rip-stop technology that may be incorporated into the fabric? That's what I've been led to believe, of course I've also been told that F111 does not exhibit this rather nasty characteristic. ZP on a reserve, no thanks. - Jim not sure about that, the specifications in the little book DuPOnt puts out have them very close in all areas. I would think they would exhibit the same tear tendancies. (ever notice it is hard to get a tear going in material, but once it goes, it rips easily -- just a thought).
  23. I agree, those 4wheel drive-little-souped-up rice burners on snow/ice is pretty cool to watch (well, for a little while anyway). they take some serious chances.
  24. Dave...you know you have become a REALLY great skydiver when you get yourself a stalker. BTW....is this your FIRST stalker? actaully, I had a stalker when I lived in Baltimore, her boyfriend/husband whatever even called and threatened my life. I dont' even know what she looked like, but she followed me home once, and kept leaving notes on my car and calling my place. My G/F at the time wasn't to happy either.... but I guess this would be my FIRST skydiving stalker I'll buy beer, no problem
