what kind of plane did you exit? and why would you take an B slot Murphy coming out of a round formation?
-
that's not what you told me after we landed
-
I wasn't suggesting it was bad or it was good, just clarifing construction materials. Tim really didn't give me a feel for a canopy comparison, he just indicated he liked it a lot, and was going to build himself a smaller one
-
If it is a kit, is it a Saleen kit?
-
it's not uncommon to have a DBA under another name. the name on the building is Jump Shack.... oh, and the canopy is non-Zpo on the bottom skin. They did it to get the opening characteristics they were looking for.

oh wow, don't even attempt to decipher that if you are new, they use a continuity plan that only a team with 1000's of jumps together can accomplish. plus they run a west coast offense, east coast continuity is different, the exits (some) are different than a lesser trained team will do also. it is a good tape, though. you should also get the Russian meet that Majik did and see the differences. check out www.skyleague.com for different video's quite frequently.

unless they evacuate the town I'm guessing, yes.... sorry couldn't resist.

[replyWith all due respect... Well, the wing loading is very high I will admit for my number of jumps - I have definitely down-sized "aggressively." However, a stilletto 120 was a sick crazy "state-of-the-art" canopy 10 or 12 years ago and you were an expert just to be jumping one. The sport has definitely evolved a lot in a small time from what I gather. Just wait 'til kids trained in tunnels hit the air at 18 with already several hours of freefall under their belts. There is beginning to be a lot of "experience" gained the hard way from others that younger jumpers can now use for their own safety and benefit. Also, always consider the time period in which a certain "# of jumps" was performed, because currency is very important in this sport, I think especially with canopy skills. And don't forget, canopies don't kill people, the people flying them kill themselves. I will head your warnings and be safe. Blue Skies Thanks freefall skills and canopy skills are not related, the only way to learn to land a canopy is to do just that. I've jumped with a tunnel rat with 16 jumps turning a bunch of points, but he's still jumping some big bed sheet, as he should. a stilleto 120 loaded at 1.7 is still a "sick crazy" canopy, it will kill you if you are not careful. yes currency is important, especially if you insist on a high loading with out much experience. be careful out there.......

and we both said yes, but I also said you probably wouldn't do it very often (unless maybe you're juping a right hand door vs left hand and everything looks different.

what Quade says.... 90% of the time the IC is going to have the tail catting. there are only a few instances where the tail would cat the OC in the random build.... we only did it every once in awhile, and I can't remember the formation we were coming from where this engineering worked better.

I personally like the one attached... if you want to look at real live pictures of various combos check out http://www.miragesys.com/order/rig-samples/rig_samples1.html

a friend of mine's mom is a real estate agent upstate NY (where this silo home is, near Plattsburgh) they went for over a million when they were first on the market, they are cool, although no sunlight would kind of suck.

You lost me there. Sorry, maybe I'm just stupid the grips are designed for competive 4way -- judges like dark suits/white gloves, very easy to see that all grips are there that way, hence black only for the grippy things.

you're grasp of logic is astounding Ron
-
it was a way cool 82!
-
I should have clarified that I meant chronic long term noise exposure, not the sudden rupture. long term noise exposure leads to hearing loss that will not recover
-
I'm thinking he wanted you to model it and show off the bootie
-
on another note along that line.... hearing does not repair itself, if you've lost it, it's gone permanently. loud aircraft can hassen hearing loss, it's not a bad idea to wear ear plugs for noise (hello Skyvan!).
-
im my experience slightly slower -- this due to the constant pressure you're holding on the air with your arms for the most part.
-
here's a website, take a look for yourself. Tensile strength is the important part. http://www.perftex.com/ exacta-chute is the "F-111" and the Soar Coat is the Zpo. you'll notice a significant difference in tear resistance -- the zpo is mush higher.

Not that I actually know anything about this sort of thing, but, good RW doesn't rely on a vise-like grip. OK, it does help if the tail-flyer has a good grip on exits sometimes, but generally speaking, if you need to resort to tricks and jumpsuit magic to keep your grips, you probably are doing something wrong. My guess is that most of the stuff Airspeed does, including exits (but excluding some block moves), could be done with just hand placements and not "grips" at all. randoms, yes, block moves no.... you use energy from your piece partner to go faster. it's a fine line between letting the other person fly and helping or feeding off that energy. zig marq, comp box, tee/tee, ritz/pick, they are very aggresive, high energy, I've pulled grips out of peoples hands before (mental note to self after that -- slow down to others speed). you definately need to have a firm grip. the rubbery stuff, I'm not so sure about though.

Yeah, I was on that one, I was diving to the formation and saw Gary doing his 720 or whatever it was and then I docked on him. You guys did a bipole and since I know Gary and Solly, you must have been one of the outfacing guys, probably on the side opposite me. Anyway, I overamped a little so I docked harder than normal. We got that point and the next two as I recall. Failed to get the BAR at the end, but just by seconds. It was a great time. Oh yeah, I was wearing the really butch-looking lavender bandana. That's correct, Russ was on one side and I the other. We did 540's , you must have docked on Russ's side of the formation, I have a Black and charcoal mirage, the canopy is a white Velocity with a Lemon end cell and lemon x-braces. Zippy little thing

I only use two of the three, one for breakoff and one for pitch your pilot chute dummy, everything else after that is -- IMO -- good or not? no good, CYA; good -- swoop it!
-
I'm guessing you're getting a Tony Suit... unless you're doing hard core 4way, it probably isn't necessary, although, why not get a Bev Suit and not worry about it at all, her comp gripper design is da bomb!
-
interesting... do you jump with more than one person? Do you track away, do you look at the airspace around you before you pull? It's hard to do all that if you are fixated on your altimeter.
