It's not "unconfirmed" any more. Folks are scared for their lives down there. Mexican Investigator Was Beheaded to Intimidate Cops ...but lots of sources are talking about headless body in a suitcase, and a head without a body in a suitcase witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

So who doesn't think there's a problem with border security? Illegal alien rape suspect has been deported nine times disclaimer: No, I don't want to close the border or deport everyone who doesn't look like me, but this country needs to secure the border so it can control who and what comes across. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

I know how you feel. I wasn't on dz.com for a year or more. I came back, and there's a lot more shit slinging (as opposed to shit stirring and shit talking), a lot more name calling (aimed at groups to include other posters without directly naming them), and even greenies are shorter tempered and more likely to be provoked (and respond in kind). But then when you have entire threads bashing mods, I guess it'll happen. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/39637423/ns/world_news-americas/ Yep, nothing to see here. These aren't the droids you're looking for. Move along. Move along. No reason to put additional federal law enforcement/homeland security types in the area. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

Yeah, well when he gets calls for subscribing to "any fringe theory which explains a historical or current event as the result of a secret plot by conspirators of almost superhuman power and cunning" (whom he generally describes as imbeciles in other settings), he likes to trot out the general definition of conspiracy. He likes to pretend he doesn't know that 'conspiracy theory' has its own negative connotations. I'd have to guess his homepage is probably http://www.abovetopsecret.com/ or http://www.conspiracyplanet.com/. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

But hey, it's only one group of voters, right? I mean shoot, NY lets felons vote, so who cares about thousands and thousands of men and women serving the country? [/sarcasm] EXCLUSIVE: New York Violating MOVE Act edit to add: for those who doubt it, NY does allow felons to vote. They only bar inmates and parolees from voting. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

(popsjumper) (quade) And I think we can agree, yes, you and I agree, that this is a pitiful state of affairs. This is EXACTLY why I made the comments about CNN and the station originally reporting were being douchebags for not showing the piece in their stories and that the Christians seemed to have them in the same state of panic as they are about pictures of Muhammad. It's a pitiful state of affairs. I'm wondering why this thread is still going. I'm pretty sure I covered all the bases in the second post in the thread. By the way, did you notice in the sixth post of the thread that one media station did have the cajones to post a picture of the piece before it was destroyed? Funny that, it was FOXNews. If it were the crazy Christians preventing this from being shown, wouldn't you think the right elaning station would've been the first to listen to their audience and not show it? It looks to me like CNN is just too PC. And my particular favorite was quade quoting the creator of this piece: Check in the sixth post of the thread. Looks like the artist in question is a liar. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

Well she did march into the gallery with a crowbar and destroy it, so I wouldn't exactly call her level headed... Anyway this article on foxnews describe the art as a lithograph depicting Jesus Christ receiving oral sex from a man. Nice. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

What, did I miss the part where church leaders are calling for the artist to be killed? Did someone suggest beheading the artist? Have there been riots and mass protests that the news didn't report? Of course the woman is a dumbass. She's also being charged as she should, so the system will take its course. Paul, I know you're mostly California based, but I was in NYC for the Piss Christ bruhaha. A lot of people were pussed off. They were pissed off that tax dollars were supporting disgusting things called art that attacked religion. I'm sure some of them would have destroyed the "art" of they could. But I don't remember death threats or artists having to change their name and go into hiding. Yes morons and fanatics of all religions and ideologies do stupid things and makelahr larger group look bad, but let's not pretend all things are equal. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

I'm sure there are facts we're not getting, but I doubt that's it. They have the suspect in custody. If they laid a hand on him on the way out, I'm sure the girl would be holding an assault on law enforcement charge. I wonder if it's worse than embarassment. I wonder if/worry that it might be incompetance/negligence they are trying to hide, or of someone broke internal policy but no laws, so they can maybe spin things into a happy story. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

The article is poorly written and clusterfucked in terms of order for telling the story, but I think it's all there. The "victim" is just another suspect who lied to the responding officers. While the uniforms were on scene, there was no crime to arrest Toles and Pearson (I've never seen a cop so bored they are unwanted guests for trespassing if they're willing to leave). After the two left, the "victim" change his story from unwanted guests to forcible kidnappers. Officers now had a violent felony to investigate and they chased the suspects. The part I don't get is the confiscated guns. Could be one of the two was a felon but denied ownership. If you can't prove possession, you have to cut them loose. All this looks like another disagreement over drugs, and there are no victims, just varying levels of suspects. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

Best I've seen is about half an iPhone, but that one had to be wired into a car battery. But that's for constant monitoring. If you will accept breaks where a certain time frame is recorded and sent in a burst, you can get them as small as a thumb drive. Smaller than iPod nano if you are going to manually recover and download info. The biggest limiter is battery size. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

I agree that we're capable of retuning fire by artillery in two shakes. Hell, we're deploying systems to identify and shoot down mortars. USN ships have computer controlled weapons to shoot down missiles. I also heard they are deploying a system similar to ShotSpotter to find point of origin for snipers, mortars, and other attacks. Nothing better than blasting the bastard trying to blast you before he even finishes trying. However, I don't think that's what happened here for two reasons. First, the blast from our artillery would have shredded the camera and videot along with the target. Second, my understanding is that three to six shells are genrally used to return fire, not just one. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

UCMJ penalties are set out in US Code Title 10, Subtitle A, Part II, Chapter 47 Sunchapter X and limited by subsection 855. For death penalty to apply, it must be listed under appropriate penalty. Sedition, mutiny, murder, and a few others have it listed in law. As far as I can find, adultery is not even a specified crime. It falls under subsection 934, aka article 134, the general article. "Punished at the direction of the court" does not include death penalty. Crime carrying the death penalty have it spelled out in USC along with "at the direction." Until someone can show me law or legal precedent stating otherwise, the "death penalty for adultery" idea is nonsense. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

Did you really just post the link in your reply that I put into the OP? I even quote the first few paragraphs. WTF? And what's with you including your bad taste in music? Fox News Reports LA Police Dept. to Purchase $1B Worth of Jetpacks
Kennedy replied to quade's topic in Speakers Corner
Good luck with that. Everybody is too interested in "breaking" the story. Too bad they don't use their brakes, instead. This one was even worse. An aero ENGR genius I graduated with is working on a smaller version under DARPA (or other mil research) contract. Their goal was allowing a grunt to jump ten or fifteen feet up or twenty five feet forward, or something close. They had the same problem, scale and fuel weight. Military wanted something wearable but worthwhile. I expect they shut down already. Sorry, but no jump packs this decade boys and girl. edit: spelling witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1* -
Yeah, they sound like they're saying they stand for Hope, Change you can believe in, and saying Yes we can! Too bad those are slogans from two years ago. They don't have anything as catchy, but they're right up there in the vague and generalized category. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
