Hey, I don't hate the man. I used to watch Scarborough Country sometimes. Yeah, I like that he calls a spade a spade, and he calls goatfuck stupid "not the best idea." They're not tbad considering that they can be "stunningly superficial" at times (Mika's papy) and "naive" (the Donald). Sidenote: how can you bash Bush for driving the country away from something that wasn't the starting point to begin with? These problems have their beginnings before Obama, before Bush, and some before Clinton. My biggest gripe with him is that he supports Liver-FUCKING-Fool FC. Occasionally his show. Definitely not his personal policitcs. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

Because they donate lots of money to political campaigns and have a lot of lobbyists? witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

I had to laugh when he said he was going to leave the republican party for a conservative party. The man's voting history in congress shows either (A) he is solidly in the conservative camp or (B) he's a really good politician who recognized that his district is solidly in the conservative camp. But really, he hawks for MSNBC now. He and his sidekick have been bashing Bush and defending Obama religiously. He knows who his boss is and who his audience is. I wouldn't call him a liberal, but he (and his show) sure seems to spout democratic talking points pretty regularly. Good politicians and good actors know their audience and present themselves accordingly. Politicians and actors... kind of redundant, isn't it? witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

Israel used 'incredible violence' against Gaza aid flotilla
Kennedy replied to dreamdancer's topic in Speakers Corner
Come on Clint, they were all peace and love. Nobody said they wanted to be marytrs. They didn't attack soldiers before even getting their feet on the deck. It's not like Iran would ever ship weapons to another country and disguise it as food and toys and... Oh damn, so much for that. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1* -
Well, while this may not be what Tea Party people, or even Republicans, are suggesting, I do have a bit of an answer there. The first thing to do would be to adopt cuts suggested by the Joint Cheifs of Staff. That would hurt ceratin corporations in the form of contracts, and it would hurt a number of communities in the form of base closures, but it's a good way to cut miltary spending without weakening the overall military. Does it stengthen or weaken our military power to be committed to countless struggles around the world? Why are we committed to so many one sided treaties. Why should the US promise to defend other countries when they won't vow to defend the US if it's attacked. Also, if we stopped intervening across the globe, or at least slowed, our military would be "stronger" without growing in size because it wouldn't be stretched to the limit. disclaimer: Don't get me wrong, I'm no isolationist, but I don't see the value in having so much of our military overseas (bases or permanent stations in what, thirty countries and 2.5 million personnel overseas) witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

POLL: Dislike of healthcare law crosses party lines, 1 in 4 Dems want repeal So what does everyone think? Does the new Health Care Law go too far, not far enough, the complete wrong way? Is it really any different from what the US has been doing for years? witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

Get the all brown KSOs, folks call them Gorilla feet (thought they don't match the skin tone of anyone I've ever seen). Get the grey ones with mottled green print bottom and folks call them Zombie feet. Or get the all black ones, and no one will notice. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

I disagree with it. That doesn't mean anyone denied free speech. It means he exercised free speech. I do wonder why exactly they fired him. Generally, even in education, "I don't like your views" is not a reason to fire someone. Are some of the whiny parents overreacting? Sure. Is this possibly yet another example of some overly PC schmuck pissing his pants over offending professional whiners? Sure. Was someone's free speech limited or violated? Nope. Does that make all this right? Nope. Just don't put a pig in a pageant dress and expect the crown. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

I never said it wasn't, that was Wendy, but I think she meant the story in the song, not the story about the writer. But the thing is I don't think anyone stifled free speech. The guy said what he had to say. Some folks didn't like it. The cold hard truth is tht actions have consequences. Do you want a teacher in schools that has starred in pornos? Been part of hard lining Wahabi madrasa? Which actions push your buttons is dependant on the audience. Of course I didnt see or hear any racism. I don't see the big problem. But he said what he wanted to say. No one silenced him. He has a right to free speech. He doesn't have a right to keep his job of he breaks a rule or posses off the school board. Same as CNN firing dirty Ricky Sanchez. No one stopped him from saying his piece, but he has to deal with the fallout. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

That's what I was talking about. It seems like the only consistent thing across the Tea Party is the anti-incumbent sentiment. The really is no message across the movement. Then again, maybe they took a play out of Obama's playbook: promise what sounds good in the most vague terms and let folks use their own desires to fill in the blanks. It worked for him, it looks like it'll work for them (except where they picked damaged goods as the candidate). Too bad "Hope" "Change you can believe in" and "Yes we can!" were already taken. Otherwise the Tea Party could use them. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

I understand the value of surveys and have actually written and run a few myself. Because of that knowledge, however, I refuse to trust any pollster's findings until they show me the questions. It's just too easy to get the answers you want. [/rant] With this gentleman running the poll, well, I'm reminded of the old adage that when the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem needs to be solved by smacking it. Or however it goes. (1) OK, so I'm two shades from Casper. You'd never know I've got "tan" "brown" and "red" blood in my family tree. But I do. (2) Yep, I want limited government (the constitution is a good starting point). (3) Sorry, I don't much trust any news source. But when I want to know what might be going on, I range from NYTimes to WashTimes, NPR to MSNBC to FOXNews, Al Jazeera to Jerusalem Post to Japan Today. (4) Eh, I was raised that way (5) Nope. (6) Well you can argue that some folks who identify themselves as Tea Partiers don't actually agree with Tea Party platform, and others do agree with it but wouldn't call themselves Tea Party affiliated. It's what comes with having a new movement that isn't a party that stradles lines between two established parties (only one of which is a part of the "Two Party" system) (7) Nope, and that's where the Tea Party folks need to solidify their position, rather than just generate momentum in a vaguely right side direction. I mean, look at their name. The Boston Tea Party wasn't about social policy, it was about taxes, people's voice (or lack of it) in government, and having a good time protesting a soft target and screwing with somebody else's property. (8) More often than democrats but certainly not exclusive of democrats and third party candicates, and certainly not enough to be called a loyal little Reaganite (even though one or two label slingers here have tried calling me that). edit: spelling and grammar witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

Neither "tax and spend" nor "cut taxes borrow and spend" appeal to me. But the real problem isn't taxes or spending, it's creating money out of thin air. Nowadays, they don't raise taxes much and they don't borrow much. They just spend things and figure they'll account for it later (and never do). The worst kind of taxes are the ones you don't pay. I don't mean dodging the IRS, I'm talking about government stealing the value of your dollar without ever admitting to it. Sure, you still make X thousand dollars a year, but we're going to create electronic dollars out of thin air and cut the spending power of your dollars in half. But we cut taxes and funded your special interests.

Fucks sake, you call that humor? Benny Hill is one thing, but this is not humor. This is more whackjobs saying they think people's lives mean less than their views/beliefs. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

That's why I said underfunded and unsupported. They are in place for show. They are good men and women working a difficult job without cover from above. Their job accomplishes very little other than to give politicians something to argue about. Perhaps if immigration laws were enforced and the deportation process wasn't a joke, it might be otherwise. I'm not dilusional, I don't expect a Berlin wall or razor fence along the entire border and I understand how intertwined both side of the border are, but the system as it stands is a joke. I particularly like how they are sending drones to the border. Now we can ignore more illegal crossings than ever before. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

So what you're saying is; "The Left" is now "Forward." Seems to make sense since we've always considered "The Right" to be "Backward." Ha ha, funny one liner. But really, would you argue that left wingers and liberals like to call themselves progressive? Do you not think they're left? They would disagree with you, as would the NY Times. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

What's the big deal? you have Fox on one side and MSNBC on the other. Who has ever denied that they have a left slant. Claiming you are "fair and balanced" is a fucking joke. Hold off on the "you" there, skippy. Or have you been too busy throwing around labels and pigeon-holing anyone you disagree with to notice that I make fun of FOXNews as much as I do MSNBC? Or that I point out hypocrasy and factual errors by both? And there are lots of folks, even several here, who disagreed with the assessment of MSNBC as left leaning on the US left-right scale. Certainly more than the "many" who want to shoot all illegal border crossers on sight (a grand total of one). witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

New pairs will feel a little weird. Keep on mind that because they are made of stretchy stuff, they will fit lost any width and shape of fit with just a day or two of breaking in. New ones feel weird to me even though I know they're the right size. The important thing is length. I got an 1100 for my birthday, and it fits my pocket just right. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

With Tagline, MSNBC Embraces a Political Identity MSNBC knows it leans liberal and progrssive, and to hell with admitting it, they are advertising it. The question is whether folks of a similar political bent who denied bias in the past will come to terms with this. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

Let's not forget the near-border landowner the stopped illegals who had damaged his property and were trespassing. He's still fighting the lawsuit against him, without help from the govt, and CBP told him they wouldn't be back to pick up any others. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

Ramos and Compean. Or more recently, what do you think might have happened to the agents who shot the teenager at the bridge underpass earlier this year if there hadn't been video? Border Patrol is the single most underfunded and unsupported agency in all of American law enforcement. And you're forgetting about when agents are ordered to flee rather than engage Mexican army units or federales, even though they are on US soil. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

Who the fuck said that? (so I can adjust my opinion of them appropriately) edit to add: Nevermind, I found it, and will consider Zep appropriately from here on out.
