  1. I read Happy years and years ago. I don't need to pick up the script to remember the story. I used the title because al Awlaki was a salesman, and because the refusal of so many posters to listen to each other reminded me of the story. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  2. Try again, Jeanne. I already said he was a terrorist. Fundraiser, recruiter, aid and comforter, and maybe more. Like I said, I'm not sad he's dead. I'm not even upset the US government was involved. My concern is that he was killed without involving the courts and without any active combat. Were it court ordered after due process, give him the needle or the noose. Were he involved in combat with US troops, give him fifty five grains of copper jacketed lead. Were he caught by security or law enforcement trying to attack targets or posing a threat to innocents, if there's no chance to rough him cuff him and stuff him, then snuff him. However, I am uncomfortable with a president having the power to place US citizens on a kill list. What about you? Do you support POTUS having the ability to place US citizens on kill lists? witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  3. You call others bloodthirsty and too likely to support military action/intervention. "Do you support POTUS being able to order the death of a US citizen without involving courts, combat, or other exigent circumstances?" witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  4. This poll was inspired by the circumstances surround the death of Anwar al Awlaki. He was killed by a US drone strike. He was a US citizen. He was a terrorist fundraiser, recruiter, etc. I don't mourn his death. I'm not upset that he is dead. My concern is that he was killed without a trial. No courts, no judgement, no death sentence. He was not attacking a US target. There was no combat in the area. So, my question is: should POTUS be able to order the killing of a US citizen when there is no court judgment, no combat, and no exigent circumstances? witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

  6. What hypocrisy? I consistently support the rights of everyone, including criminals, enemy combatants, and mentally ill. I wish you would do the same. 7. Interesting that you support a terrorist.... quite telling.. I guess you do not support your country after all... Even criminals and enemy combatants have rights. Go back to your whining about Bush thread and answer the question. I'm not a fan of killing everyone who is unpopular. I leave that to your heroes. Stalin, Che, Pol Pot, etc. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  8. OH COOL another TERRORIST SYMPATHIZER So Jeanne, what law or reasoning did the most open administration in history use to justify authorizing a military strike against a US citizen abroad who had not been convicted of a crime or taken part in combat against US targets? Tsk tsk tsk.... nice support of... treason Definition trea·son[ trz'n ]trea·sons Plural NOUN 1. betrayal of country: a violation of the allegiance owed by somebody to his or her own country, e.g. by aiding an enemy. Aww you look so cute with that big hypocritical ALLIGATOR tear there in your eye. DUDE.. just think of him as a liberal.. I know the good conservaturds here wshould be good with it then Oh no Jeanne, you're not going to weasel out that easily. You don't get to cut the thread and start over when you don't have an answer. Also, don't act like I'm crying crocodile tears. I don't give a damn that he's dead. I never claimed I did. What I am concerned about is our government killing a citizen by remote without due process, combat, or other exigent circumstances. Then to top it off, said government refuses to explain or defend such a killing by saying "it's secret, so I'm not telling." 9. Spot on, winsor. Anyone can complain about problems. Solutions is a much tougher business. That's why I tend to have no respect for protestors but I'm willing to listen to campaigners and producers. Sign carrying marching whiners don't accomplish much. Being against greed, or gun violence, or abortion, or racism, or whatever doesn't accomplish anything. Being for fair application of the legal system, limiting monetary influence in political elections, an informed population to prevent unwanted pregnancies and a healthy home for infants, equal access and protection under the law, etc is much more productive. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

  12. Yup, it's all Bush's fault. Clinton left him a well funded utopia. Nothing to do with Clinton's Fannie Mae Freddie Mac banking changes. Nothing to do with the Fed. Nothing to do with fiat money. Nothing to do with anything but Bush. It's all the fault of the right. Perfect logic. [/sarcasm] You know you're getting more repetitive than Rhys, right? Less reasonable to. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  13. In that case I'm impressed. Maybe I'll read more later. I'm not in front if a computer all day anymore, so news reading is limited. So what about witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  14. That. there used to be a duty to find and report the truth that the media carried with some integrity attached. Now it's all about the advertising dollars. Well there are plenty of alternatives to FAUX News.... but I know you guys love that whole...."Where never is heard... a discouraging word" Red, if you think fox is the only outfit guilty of whoring themselves out, you're further out of touch than I thought. Have you noticed that when others talk about something general like media or politicians, you can only rail against "rightwing" things. Can you even see that left is as guilty as right? Or is it "left is right and right is always wrong" in your world? witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  15. He's a good actor, like any politician. You say stoney coolness, I wonder if he knew it'd be the next day. (maybe he did, I haven't read when or how he gave the green light) As for knowing when to push the button, when exactly does that include drone strikes on US citizens not involved in any sort of combat? witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  16. ....... Breath ..... Breath......... I couldn't make it past that sentence..... Too many big words for you huh I'm guessing it was the failure to mesh with reality. Can you find an example where officers were deployed with orders to assault? (remember assault is unlawful touching- using force to effect an arrest for illegal conduct is not unlawful, hence not an assault). Then there's the issue of "polite". Sure, some of them are polite all the time, and most of the are polite most of the time, but how polite is blocking traffic? Insulting pedestrians? Assaulting cops? Fighting? Stealing? Raping? Shooting? Really, how many polite crowds have been in physical confrontations with police? witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  17. So, how would you fix things? Wave the magic wand, you're queen for the day. What would you change? witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  18. He purchased (or otherwise acquired) firearms before he was disqualified to buy/own/possess. He was later determined to be unfit for possession of firearms. At that point he was required to give up ownership and possession and not acquire any in the future. He failed to comply. Do you want law enforcement to search the residence of every patient once they are committed or adjudicated? If not, what would you change to prevent this from happening again? witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  19. So given the choice between the two... I'd want the victim to have had a gun. No, the RO does not hurt, but it clearly does not really work. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  20. OHHHH so you dont REALLLLY want to help them after all.... If your definition of "help" is shipping them off, segregating them, and letting some panel decide whether or not they have rights, then no, I really don't want to give anyone that kind of help. I prefer lawrocket's method of defending their rights, and allowing the medical field to treat them. If you like the idea of having some panel depriving people of their rights because they scare you, because they are not like you, and becasue they are an easy target, then you are a good little Citizen and approved for all Traveller meetings. Have you returned your norsefire enrollment package yet? witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  21. Not really. Wendy mentioned guns because they are the "arms" of the age. I seem to recall an amendment in there that mentions the right to keep and bear arms. Now unless you're ready to say the constitution is wrong, you have to admit that there is a right to own guns in the US. If you think the constitution is wrong on that point, say so and back it up. Otherwise your word games are not cute or valuable as a contribution. Do you believe humans have the right to own weapons? Do you believe humans in the US have the right to own weapons? witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  22. Not sure the ATF would agree with you. Best confirm before doing. Oh, the joys of dealing with bureaucrats who make law by flipping a coin. I particularly live it when they change their mind without reason, or contradict themselves and expect you to figure it out. 23. Try again professor. I think we all agree that he did in fact deny the sexual harrassment allegations. If someone said he did (or didn't) commit those acts, then you could argue for misleading titles. Besides, why do you care. To you it's just another lying politician. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  24. Tsk Tsk Tsk/// There you go again Ooops, my bad. Nazis were there supporting Occupy Phoenix, not a Tea Party event. Wow Jeanne, maybe some fucknut showing up to an event doesn't mean that the entire event and all attendees are equally asshatted fucknuts. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  25. Well, isn't this interesting... Nazis Show At Rally With Guns To Support Cause Armed citizen militia group US Border Guard is making its presence felt at the Phoenix demonstration to protect free speech rights, arguing that the second amendment prevents the state from abusing the first amendment. The group has been labeled “neo-nazis” by the Southern Poverty Law Center, which is usually a demonization tactic, but the individual shown in the clip, “JT Ready” has attended neo-nazi rallies and is closely affiliated with the fringe National Socialist Party. The group has also operated as a “Minutemen on steroids” outfit, organizing armed patrols of the US border with Mexico. snip witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
