My newest carry is the Springfield EMP in 9mm was going to get the 40 but the 9 was so much lighter. I love this weapon dead nuts at 10 yards and tight groups even out to 25 and you can't. USPA Poll on AFF Instructor Requirement The USPA Board is soliciting comments from the membership regarding the acceptance of some wind tunnel time in place of some freefall time for the USPA Accelerated Freefall Instructor rating. A proposal was presented at the 2012 Winter Board meeting to change the current requirements for the AFFI rating. Presently, USPA requires instructor candidates to have completed at least six hours of freefall time to earn the rating. The change proposed would allow instructor candidates to substitute wind tunnel time for up to two hours of the required freefall time. (All other AFFI requirements would remain, e.g. C license, have held a rating for at least 12 months or have at least 500 jumps, etc.) Please take a minute to complete this online poll so that membership input can help guide the Board’s decision regarding this proposal. Here is my response... The tunnel does not replicate the seriousness of freefall. Anyone call fly safely in a tunnel if something goes wrong you can just get out. You cannot do that in freefall. get a few jumps on the 260's you been jumping on AFF then look for a rig. I have one i am thinking of selling and a 230 is a tight fit. It likes the 190 I have it in right now way better. I am 6'2" 260+ out the door. I jumped a Lazer 290 in a really old Javelin for close to 300 jumps before buying a used 230 sabre then finally bought this rig I am thinking of selling (wings) at around 400 jumps for $1800 without a main. Sorry to hear about your bad luck. It should have taken 5 minutes to fix. All they needed/need to do is request fed-ex to pick up the package and re-deliver it to the correct address. I would think if someone attacked your integrity Ron you wouldn't need to say much as lots of folks would be defending you even folks that disagree with you. Sounds like we have a lot in common. Why I am not overly concerned but there are things I wish my parents had taken notice of as I was/am the same way as my son. I think Life would have been a little easier with some direction and understanding instead of punishment which just taught me to be more careful with what I could get away with. As for Teachers (which was a HUGE thread drift) I think they have a hard job and for the most part they really love what they are doing or they wouldn't keep doing it. LOL yeah he spent 10 minutes in the tunnel yesterday and he has been skiing all day today at Alta. I'm actually sitting outside the lodge as he and his step mom just went up for another run.
