    as Remi said it takes lot to dislodge a properly seated pin. if it was already on its way out yes a pin check before the door opened would have helped. Otherwise no but since we dont have a way back machine only thing we can do is offer suggestions to help prevent possible scenarios...     Thanks for posting. Don't be so cool that you don't get a pin check before exit. I didn't bother with an in plane pin check for many jumps until I was at an airspeed camp and watched the airspeed team all give each other pin checks. If these folks with 10's of thousands of jumps get a pin check in the plane every single time why am I not doing it? Changed my outlook and have not made a jump in the last 600+ jumps without getting a pin check at 9k then making extra sure not to move around in any manner that might affect the pin. P.S. if your on the plane you should be ready to fucking exit the plane. Hate it when people get on the plane with their shit loose even my Friends. Tell them if shit happens and they are in front of me they are exiting exactly how they are as I'm not waiting for them to gear up. As for SB what new jumper is jumping in 20 mile and hour winds [/crazy] the point is developing a sight picture correct? Whats the easist fastest way to do that?     Not true. At my home DZ, the "spot" is at 476 feet and it only gets you within 4 feet of the peas in wind conditions between 3-76 MPH on hot days. LOL ok I gave real basic info and said talk to your instructor. No matter where you jump if you turn your final at 500' your gonna land in "x" area. This will give him a basic sight picture and a starting point instead of just trying to figure it out all on his own.     Guess the guys that fly with us must really love us because they sure make more then $10 an hour when they are in with us. $20 tip for 15 minutes rotations is a pretty damn good per hour wage. Then there is the block time with $200per hour added for coaching. Guys here seem to be doing ok. MAKE EVERY DAY COUNT Life is Short and we never know how long we are going to have.     every DZ will have a "spot" that you need to turn at 500' to put you in the peas. Ask your insructor where that is and start practicing.     Currently having trouble with a notorious drop-shipper in Florida. He's got my money tied up in "pending" status for about a month now. Paypal refuses to deal with it, because it's pending.     Water and Gatorade/Powerade work as well. Not all of us drink alcohol and it is nice to have a free cold drink in the afternoon before the beer light comes on.     That's awesome. I look at it like this, I'm 46 my boy is six and my daughter is 13. Neither live with me full time.     Cool. Some advice. Don't push or expect much let him decide if he likes it. Bring a neck gator in case the wind bothers him. My boy wore it over his mouth and nose from 4-5. It was wierd at 3 it didn't bother him at 4 he couldn't catch his breath with out it. I also ask if he wants to go instead of just saying we are going. Sometimes he rather go fishing or shoot his .22 and thats ok too. I don't want him to ever feel he "has" to do anything because its what I want. I'm just glad he loves it, not sure about him wanting to be a freeflyer though Kinda like my wife not digging the fact he wants to get off his skis and snowboard as soon as he turns 8...guess we are old farts.. Quick funny story he walked into the shop and wasn't listening to our service manager. he told Kade if he didn't listen he would have to leave and Kade played the well my Dad owns the place card. Took TW less then a second to put the boy in his place LOL. Kade didn't even want to come tell me he got smart with TW. LOL he even did his time out in TW's office so they didn't have to tell me.
