DSo you think the $400 billion price tag for an AFF course is acceptable then? Dave
-
Sod the research, I'll go with 300 sq ft and use trail and error. If something goes wrong I'll post it in the incidents forum and get all the replys I'll ever need. Anyway, I have not got any takers yet. Dave
-
Doh! I wish I never posted this now It doesn't matter how long the track is.
-
180 mph means you have an hour to do 180 miles. So, assume the race track is 180 miles long. How many hours does he have to drive to average 180 mph over 16 laps?? Now assume he has spent the first 8 laps travelling at 90 mph. How long has he been driving? Simple subtraction will now give you the answer as to how long he has to complete the next 8 laps.
-
Then try thinking about what 180 Miles per hour actually means

oh Shit

Great post! Never seen anything so funny for years Keep em coming Edited to add: Ahh, the attachment is now there. Wasn't that funny after all

As long a you know Kallend was right you are allowed not to know who Michael Schumacher is

Clever! Now solve this one. G W Bush has started the ball rolling so I am going to open up the first Martian skydiving school. The question is for student gear will I need larger parachutes than on earth due to the thinner atmosphere? Or will I need smaller parachutes due to weaker gravity? By the way, an AFF course at the Martian school of skydiving cost $400 billion. Any takers?

Michael Schumacher starts a 16 lap race. Due to engine problems he can only average 90 mph for the first eight laps. Then magically the problem repairs itself. How fast will he have to drive for the next 8 laps so his average during the whole race is 180 mph?

I told you a millions times, don't exagerate!

There was a report in the newspaper today. It concerned the confusion over the 200 votes for "Ja" that were entered during the night. Now.... I wonder who bothers to vote in the middle of the night Thanks guys/gals, you're doing great
-
Because they don't want an Airport near where they live. These are the same people that moan when they have to drive hundreds of miles to catch their holiday flight. Get this... we have even had complaints about the noise that the canopies make when opening
-
But... if someone plans to make 25,000 skydives, and 1 in 25,000 end with a double-mal, they only have a 63% chance of having a double-mal in those 25,000 jumps. That does not change the fact that in each single jump the chances are the same, namely 1 in 25,000. Dave

No real name... Who exactly is it complaining?
-
Hey thanks for the tip! I have removed the link but I guess someone will make it clicky for me again Dave
-
I don't think it will really make any difference but... We want buy the airport where we jump otherwise it may be shut down. On this web page http://www.waz.de/waz/waz.forum3.startseite.php you can vote as to whether it can be sold. Help for those that can't understand German... On the part with the title "Voting" select "Ja" and click on "GO". Support your fellow skydivers Edited to Removed the link

It's the AFF instructors that need to be worried! Look what happened to Saddam H. after he tried to kill Bush Snr. Before you know it, all AFF instructors will belong to the axis of evil and Colin Powel will persuade Tony Blair that they have WMD. (Ways of Manipulating Deployment). Dave

1st Second hand Springo 160 (Came with the rig) 2nd New Stiletto 135 (had loads of cash) 3rd Used Vengeance 120 (it was cheap) 4th New Velocity 90 (Wanted to choose the colors) Also jumped loads of canopies on loan or as demo's. If you find getting a canopy in the D-bag difficult, do not buy new Reasons to buy new are: 1. You want to choose the colors 2. You can't find a suitable second hand one 3. you are rich If you buy second hand, always make you someone with the relevant experience checks it out for you. Dave Dave

1. Buy a UV filter for a normal camera where the glass is the same size as the end of you wide angle lens (the larger end). 2. Removed the surrounding metal on the filter. 3. Place the glasss filter on the end of the wide angle lense and fix it in place using some insulation tape. Some have tried to glue the filter but insultaion tape is really all you need. This will not only prevent the condensation forming, it will also protect the glass on your wide angle lense. Should the filter become scratched, you can replace the filter far cheaper than the lense. Dave

I apologise if I put things in the wrong perpective ... but So again... At some point (after 3 Tandems) they land their canopy themselves for the first time. What type of canopy is this? If it is not an elliptical then what is it? And then what is the decision criteria to go on to an elliptical? And again I am not criticising! I am after the thinking behind a program that brings students onto ellipticals so quickly. Dave
