    long funnies

A wooden chair is flammable and has legs.
  3. I think most of the criticism is about NewClears way of thinking. As he said himself, he wanted to provoke with his subject header. It worked. He is now just digging a deeper hole for himself by making wrong comparisons and giving bad reasons why he is jumping what he's jumping. Dave Edited to spell criticism correctly

  5. Skydiving is not cool! It's like all things that are fun, highly addictive, costs loads of money and can eventually lead to your death! Now, where am I going to jump this weekend
  6. Are you saying the web page is wrong? At 232' we are back to birdman speeds, hey Brains, better get your cell phone and beer back from sunshine
  7. Ok, I've found this on the internet, but I don't know for sure how he landed. http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/index.asp?id=50600 This guy must have been at terminal right? Forget the birdman suit, let's go bigger. Anyone for the first 4-way to land with out a parachute? Edited to provide the link
  8. but first, does anyone know from how high a stunt man can fall into those piles of cardboard boxes and mattresses and survive?
  9. I had one TM that was very thoughtfull, he put his hands in front of the passengers face to lessen the pain. Made for a great video
  10. Learn to float, and float like hell or Pull immediately, then chop once the tandem catches up. Reserves can be really useful Probaly would have been a crap video anyway, what with all that sleet covering up the lense.
  11. : Engines broke on our Cessna 1st weekend without a jump this year To make matters worse I now have a sore back Could this be due to not jumping?
  12. This is probaly due to your eyeballs popping out when you see how close you are to the ground This has never happened to my girlfriend who wears contacts. She has used both the disposable and the normal hard ones. Her disposable's seemed to be larger than the standard lenses. I would have this would make them even less likely to fall out.
  13. I would not have though the wind (tail or head) would make any difference. As for wether it sould have deployed, I will let someone with more knowledge than me answer.
  14. Married men do not live longer than single men. If feels longer
  15. I was not referring to the bungee wearing out, I was referring to the material from which the pilot chute is made.
  16. 75 I would be happier if my score was lower
  17. Maybe I should be a bit more precise. Depending on exit speed, and the moment when you deploy, with a bungee system, you may experience a slight delay. A bungee system does work on hop n pops. I have seen them work with no problem at an exit altitude of 1400 ft. Even being more precise, I could still be wrong, in that by the time you have lost your forward throw speed you have always gained enough vertical speed for the bungee to inflate immediately. However, as I said in another part of my post, pilot chutes do not last forever, if it is worn the speed required to inflate it may be higher, resulting in a slight delay.
  18. Gut feeling says no, don't do it. But, alas ticket money is ticket money. I guess, thats the key to the matter, wearing one does not make you a skydiver, so you ask. Hey Tonto, if you are homeless and drunk in Germany again, give me call!
  19. If you have a bungy kill line the delay will be very noticable on a hop and pop. Also, how many jumps has your pilot chute got? They don't last forever, I have heard that some should be replaced after 500 jumps. They still work but just get slower and slower at deploying the main. A slight delay on a hop 'n pop doesn't worry me to much, it's the delays I'm getting at terminal that worry me. As Quade said, sometimes a very short amount of time can seem ages, but I checked one of them out on video and there was a 3 second delay . Still trying to figure out what exactly is causing this.
  20. Maybe Kramer ( not jmpnkramer) used the words stupid and dumb because as a student he hears these words being used all the time. "Kramer! how could you so stupid as to turn that low" "Kramer! That was a pretty dumb thing to do..." I have heard many times students being called stupid and dumb when the real problem is.... well may some are stupid and dumb Don't forget, a lot of people think we are stupid and dumb even when it all goes right!

    KKK Initiation

Seems pretty steep to me, after all, he only killed a KKK member. May if he had shot 2 more bail would have been reduced to 1,000
  22. You get a hug from me! 5:4 A total of 8 jumps on my new Velocity 90. All from 5000ft. Canopy flight is great fun. One guy had a bummer of a jump though. Had a reserve and lost the following. 1) A cutaway pad 2) A d-ring 3) A free bag 4) A shoe As of this morning his main was still stuck on top of an enormous tree. It should have been rescued by now though.
