a vengeance can and will feel doggier than a stilleto at the same size in loading. it is very stable in brakes and lightly loaded (a buddy jumped my 135 at 1.4ish) it is not too radical. My exit weight is 225 and it seems less radical than stilletos, crossfires, cobalts with toggles. However it will out swoop the crap out of a stilleto only due to the fact that it will dive much longer and build up more speed and it has a higher aspect ratio. and it is easy to fly well. But will it outswoop a Cobalt or a crossfire... now we are talking pilot finesse and wind conditions as all of the canopies are superior swoopers, but I'll place my bets on a Cobalt or an Alpha at the same wingloading to be tops. ramon

This is comparable to the XAOS except I believe the XAOS has lighter riser pressure and I have heard that it is trimmed a little flatter (less ground hungry than FX although still steep) My friends were jumping my FX 109 at 1.5 and1.6. the friend who was loading higher (1.6) didn't like it because it 'was not fast enough', however he surfed it longer than his samurai. My female friend who was previously jumping a stilleto at 1.2 and jedei at 1.3 really liked the FX at 1.5...she jumped it about a week and thought the flare was powerful, but she quickly realized it could bite you as it was fairly fast. right now she is really liking a velocity 103 (it opens softer than an FX...and I have heard the xaos does also), but she will not downsize anymore. the thing to remember is that they are more efficient airfoils when loaded at 1.4-1.5 and higher and so they will have less drag/distortion/ and will maintain speed longer than a comparable non cross braced parachute. So a xaos loaded at 1.4-1.5 can probably be expected to be able to come in a little faster than a regular chute, but at 1.3 it might be that the additional drag from cross bracing and material bulk may not increase performance. bloo skies ramon

you should be scared. it is very easy to get in a mess of shit in this sport. Complacency causes lots of accidents (ignoring the spot), and usually the only ones we read about are the fatalities. Just think, that scare probably gave you some extra vigilance that will be around a long time.

Do everyone a favor and go straight to your gear dealer with a Javelin problem (hopefully you won't have one) and do not relent. I suspect that they are so busy that they are not inspecting new containers well before shipping. The past three new Javelins (two Odysseys) I have seen, have come from the shop with problems. 1. incorrect sewn leg strap. 2. RS sized D bag on an NJ container (the main flaps are too short and appear to be for an RS so it looks crappy, b15 harness in stead of C-16, and the riser covers that extend down the size of the reserve container are open when the rig is closed and you can see the toggles. it was ordered in May and arrived 2 days ago). It looks and fits the owner like crap. 3. Same color and order for different person...wrong size harness, but not as bad, but the riser covers extending down this one after the rigs is packe really expose the risers and toggles....looks like shit . Glad I bought a vector even though the Odyssey was very comfortalbe when I demoed one. This sport is too expensive to treat customers like that. ramon

We had 11 people in the attempt (Pammi, Merrick and Zennie) which is probably a record (11 dz.comers in one skydive). and we had at least 15-16 dz.comers present on the DZ by sunset (Cyberskydive, AirAnn, and Tammi and I suspect one or two others......SLAPPIE!!!

Wow, that is even fast for head down....and Zennie ain't no slouch either. Aggie, D Save your money and get a little baggier jump suit. Actually with a little practice you should be able to slow down a little more. Them big Galoot arms and legs you have will help give you a little more range and make up for your weight. . bloo skies ramon PS. if you are going to start freeflying get a really baggy suit .

Unless you are rich and have your own airport and plane legally modified for skydiving no instructor will come to your freaking house to teach you. You have to go to an established dropzone. ramon
