  1. Probably "put their feet to the fire". I doubt I'd do better with Swedish slang. If we are going to empty our purses to save her future I hope her generations turn in the barrel is a bit more impressive in job interviews than the GenXer's and Millennials.
  2. It was a PT6 engine leasing company. I provided various PT6 models to Pratt & Whitney designated overhaul facilities, primarily Standard Aero in Winnipeg and Vector Aerospace in PEI. My inventory was sourced direct from Pratt so it was an all Canadien gig. I simply wanted to ease into semi retirement so I killed it and my jump aircraft leasing company.
  3. Brent, it's called humor and I know you got some.
  4. You aren't, and I would never say you are, but there are people who can be absolute insufferable asses, but not you. Thank you for providing that low level brain dead video so I can see positively what you are not. For my part I have no idea what you guys are talking about even though I ran a company the did 100% of it business in Canada between 2009 and 2015 and made bank. Thanks for the heads up.
  5. Teuge in Holland. Jumps are free because the DZ get's paid by windmills which are just like propellers so it's the same. Why other DZ's need money to pay for maintenance, pilots, manifester's , groundskeepers, riggers, lawn mowers, garbage dumpers and the people who unclog the stopped up shitters is a mystery. I think they also have free rides to free places to stay.
  6. Yes. But unfortunately it seems forced, even planned, in stark contrast to the genuine passion in her TEDx and Cop 25 presentations. Watch the videos. Compare the texts. Is it truly a wonder that the right calls her an actress? I'm not saying she is acting. I am saying that we need to be able to call ourselves out too.
  7. From the mouths of babes.
  8. If you were following her before her trip to America then you have the advantage on me. Since I was called out by Skydekker over my apparent ignorance of ASD I've been making an effort to become more familiar with the subject. That includes not only Aspergers but OCD and Selective Mutism. Needless to say, these are very complex areas individually and become more so when examined together. Not everyone is equally afflicted. Interestingly, some businesses are interested in hiring employees with ASD for their focused, get it done attitudes. I won't say I yet have any understanding worth sharing. I will say that unless someone has a degree, focused personal study, clinical experience or significant personal experience in these areas they might want to go easy with the definitions and recriminations. For context I watched three high profile speeches Greta has given. Maybe you've seen them all. TEDx Stockholm November 24, 2018 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAmmUIEsN9A UN New York September 23, 2019 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KAJsdgTPJpU Cop25 December 11, 2019 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11FCyUB81rI In each case the speech was read from paper or a prompter. Also in each case the words read matched the style of presentation. As I've indicated, her UN presentation left me unimpressed. Had I only seen the TEDx and COP 25 presentations I would have seen only an articulate, knowledgable, passionate and impressive young woman.
  9. Come on, man. Open your eyes, Jesus is in control. Q is in control. SHTF. We must wait for the rapture. We must wait for next Wednesday. Have faith. Believe. Drown out the naysayers. Dude, your brain is overly predisposed to blind acceptance. When you're driving at night and you are looking at headlights that means you're in the wrong lane not that the world is mysterious. Stop accepting things, question things.
  10. Close enough. You can organize distribution of the free cans of Old Milwaukie.
  11. Kiosks staffed by cute young atheists in front of every Chick-fil-A.
  12. I accept the scolding as deserved for characterizing Greta that way. Before responding further I'll do some more research but it is my understanding that the autism spectrum is just that, not black and white.
  13. There it is Ron. I made no mention of explaining how they should vote. I said patiently explain the truth.
  14. No more or less than every post like yours, John. We're just a collection of nobody's posting on an obscure forum. I really doubt we're moving our own needle much less any media needles. Maybe I wasn't paying attention but I didn't notice anyone giving a crap about her until some of her parents rich friends gave her a hop to the USA on their $5 Million IMOCA 60' World Circumnavigation racing yacht, truly a once in a lifetime opportunity. I don't self identify as a right winger and I'm no climate change denier by a long shot. I simply think she's a construct and a damn rude young woman; certainly I think, by her behavior, she makes a poor role model for kids.
  15. I agree. The whole "never underestimate the power of angry kids" schtick is more worthy of a two week grounding than media accolades. Let's just empower kids everywhere to be disrespectful to adults. Great idea.
  16. Of course they do. Sadly, they do not have the right to have truth patiently explained. Instead they are seen as manipulatable, easy to get votes by a callous, self serving right wing machine.
  17. Damn well said. Until someone can improve on Glenfarclas 40 or a great Austrian Dry Riesling peace must prevail.
  18. Why not? It worked for you.
  19. Last year I had this silly asshole show up with a group to do Tandems packing a Glock on one hip and a Crocodile Dundee battle knife on the other. Already nervous first timers were everywhere in the viewing area. Even the densest second amendment hypno boy should have recognized that was a dumb thing to do. Fortunately we are private property. More fortunately I have cops on staff who are happy to deal with that lame shit. But it shouldn't even be a possibility, that's the problem.
  20. Easy buddy, you start waving pins around and you might pop a few balloons.
  21. Only 30.28 million ding dongs to go.
