How to Improve my Skills Without Paying for Coaching?
JoeWeber replied to Bkleven7's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
With a fresh "A" license as your entry card, and temporary intentions, you'll not likely be seen as a great DZ building investment by the locals in the next county much less another country. If it's just a few months, buy a few coach jumps, or not, in between your solos and practice those skills until you get home. Then, after having had a taste of $37 jumps, $10 pack jobs and, if needed, $28 gear rental at Empuriabrava, coached jumps in the US will seem quite reasonable. Back in the day has come and gone. Fun it was, but it's a different sport now. A whole lot of what seems so magical in the air these days came from a lot of hard work and a hell of a lot of money spent by talented jumpers who themselves spent a lot of money on coaching or in tunnels. If getting better in the air, being on the good loads, invitationals or competition are your goals then you'll quickly learn that good, solid coaching is an invaluable part of your progression. It is money well spent and a lot cheaper than breaking bad habits. If just being a self satisfied, happy camper weekend jumper is your goal, and there is no reason it shouldn't be, then you are in luck. Just be a decent sort and be at the DZ as frequently as everyone else and you'll certainly be included, helped along and made better. But even then a little solid coaching can be a huge help. (and re-read Wendy's post) With $8500 new rigs, $1200 jump suits, $300 helmets etc.. etc.. I'm often amused at how much money some folks will spend to look good on the ground but not in the air. Don't break the bank and choose your coaches wisely but in the big scheme of an already cash intensive sport good coaching can be great value. -
Tax the rich, feed the poor, 'til there are no rich no more

I know. An explanation of how that makes any sense is what I'm after. -

And still there are those who claim the system isn't working. -

So by that you mean that everyone and all forms of income should be taxed at the same rate regardless of amounts? That is, on an annual basis, $10,000 is taxed at the same rate as $1 billion be it hourly wages or dividends or capital gains? -

Well, according to the pervy, lurk feature he's been enjoying our repartee vicariously, lately. So, was he doing the old "I stepped on my dick barking conservative memes" so I'll ghost thing? What's your guess, Coreece? -
Fucking Obama. Meddling away in the FAA, as if it's O.K, and I just gotta say, it's a whole new day, and it makes me say yay, cause it's our turn to play!

Goddamn, I'm topical! And, I guess, quite possibly an ointment. -

People are saying HOA means something else, I think they're saying Horny Old Asshole, but I don't know. It's just what people are saying. -

A classic example of over regulation by the nanny state. The HOA members should have just beat the shit out of the little bastards until the word got around. It takes a village. -

People are saying that's what I said, you'll need to ask them, I don't know. -

Assuming you aren't opposed to taxation that provides for whatever you consider to be essential services, what constitutes "Tax the Rich"? For example, are you opposed to a graduated income tax where the highest earners pay a higher percentage of their income than the kid with a lemonade stand? Of course, I'm assuming he's a liberal kid from California who cheerfully pay's whatever tax his Mom levies. But also, what do you consider rich? You made no qualification or set parameters in the OP so I'd like to know what you consider "rich" such that additional tax will collapse the system. -
Your explanation was describing how onerous and time consuming it was to buy a gun in CA, a process you feel makes CA a joke. So yes, I responded to the drift not the original non-problem. Still, so what if it takes a few weeks to get another gun? So what if there are address requirements or other hoops that are inconvenient for some? And, in particular, so what if ammo gets harder and harder to get on demand. Something is coming and, thanks to Heller, and that's likely it.

So what's the problem? Ex-wife after his ass with an AR-15? Gophers by the hundreds advancing on his organic asparagus patch? What in the holy fuck requires that someone wake up one day and just know that if they don't have another pistol like right fucking now the entire world will come to a screeching halt? Fuck it. Move to Texas.

You're a stoic, that's a fact. It's all bullshit and theres no reason that handguns shouldn't be sold in vending machines. Citizens of East Jesus who live at the end of dirt roads are being discriminated against in violation of the 14th amendment; which is second in importance to the second amendment which should have been the first amendment.

I'm not so self aggrandizing that I'd borrow money for my statue. But I would print money for the purpose. Another 2 Trillion only pushes up your share of the debt up another 20 Grand to $200K. Why be such a cheapskate? You don't want fast internet in Appalachia? It's only money, and it's not yours.

Yo's, we be banging away at that Paris thing so you ain't be falling down dead cause it's hot. Like I tell you, stay chilly. That's what I'm talkin' about. Oh, and don't forget to Maga Jama in Bama fo' sister Sessions! And wear your ears! -
Sure thing, he's ideal. We just picked the wrong Billionaire last go around. Seriously, I welcome it because the entire field of DNC hopefuls are just people we hope will win if they get the nod. Also, I think he's unlikely to take any grade school bullshit from Trump, especially on a debate stage. Biden, I'm afraid doesn't present as very durable these day's and I fear the rest are all wishful thinking. I think we need some more steam to get this thing moving.

But I specifically included future income potential. I've seen a lot of players go away looking at equity only.
-
Not unlimited. A few Trillion against 22 Trillion. Leverage is what makes wealth creation possible, you know, like your home mortgage. As long as it's an investment that increases the value of your holdings and your future income potential it can be a smart play. I think that is where we are today. I am not advocating profligate spending on currently popular stuff. I'm talking about modernizing the building, buying some new gear, upgrading the aircraft and establishing ourselves as market leaders. If we do it right, and smart, we'll make the money to service the debt.
-
He's a jackass. But, I'm still of the mind that with borrowed money as next to free as it gets adding to the National Debt by a few Trillion to effect infrastructure repairs and upgrades like modern high speed transportation, fully upgradeable advanced digital networks to every corner of the nation (think 6G, or whatever is next, hotspots at every rural post office) and free graduate school educations for high performing students whose socioeconomic circumstances would otherwise have made those advantages impossible to attain. That sort of thing; all things that we need and are blind to the race, color, sex, sexuality and the religion of the beneficiaries. Not on climate change, not on robotic recycling bins that go to the curb on their own, not on increasing habitat for the Fluffy Bellied Danderhooie. Just simple big solutions that can get traction. Of course a few million to put BillVon in a room until he figures out a better way to distribute power would be well spent, I think.

Don't let the technical jargon discombobulate you. It's the same thing as, but only different, than factoring in Algebra (and a big SHOUT OUT to Mrs. Fenster at Pioneer High) Start with (network configuration files) + (routing configuration) = (network files) + (routing) = (network files routing) where network = internet; files = email and routing = send button. So it's just a fancy way of saying send an email. Why they make a simple thing so complicated is a mystery.

Sure, if you like. And you just keep screaming "look at me, look at me!' and someday you'll get a cookie, too.
