You're talking materials, and when you trade one for another, there are going to be trade-off's. Sure, you could have it relined with Dacron and possibly get 1500+ jumps out of it, but you're increasing drag and pack volume. And, truth be told, why jump a canopy that high-performance if you're going to add that much drag to it? HMA seems to be the way to go, with 800-ish jumps quite common, excellent dimensional stability, and incredibly low profile drag. However, it's trickier to work with and you really can't cascade it. If you're replacing a cascaded line-set, it's going to be pricy and you'd better be damn good at math, especially geometry. Vectran and Spectra have their own quirks as well, but all of them are likely going to have to be replaced before 1000 jumps, especially Vectran. Considering some of the rigging work that Derek has done, I'll go with his views on this one. I've also heard from another rigger in my area about double-stows potentially causing bag lock as it has happened to him As for me, I use the right size stows, and hell, given the choice, I'd rather free-stow my lines anyway. I use my iPod at work as an external drive all the time with no issues. Plug it in and it shows up. Your own MP3 files are stored as MP3 format. They're just copied to the iPod. As for iTunes, it sucks worse than anything that has ever sucked before! I use EphPod to manage my iPod. It's free, it's fast, and doing playlists is incredibly simplified.
