The PC109 has to be in the docking station to use the firewire port, IIRC. Your best bet is to contact Sony Parts to see what the price would be to order it. However, knowing how expensive their parts are, by the time you add it and the price of the camera together, you're probably going to be better off getting a new camera. You do remember correctly. And it needs to be done while the canopy is being constructed. Graphics can easily double (or more) the price of a canopy.
