I hope Jess does better tomorrow than last night. Geez...she called it quits after a tiny margarita and two beers. These Texans can't seem to hang. Jess, We've already discussed this and my thoughts are the same. You have the tenacity and knowledge that the job requires. Your attitude is kick ass. Now, make that your motto as well. Storm into that interview tomorrow, and impress the hell out of the boss lady like I know you can. By this time next Wednesday, we'll be plastered on margarita's in celebration while I'm visiting. Yup, same here. I'm an IAD instructor and I use AFF hand signals with freefall students once they get to the latter part of their progression. My job is not to hang out in freefall and just watch or take the ocassional dock. My job is to help and encourage as needed. If that requires me to throw a "legs", "arch", or "pull" signal at an IAD student, so be it. Kris Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Wing Loading Restrictions? (Skydive Kansas)

Well my exit weight is a bit above the 254 pound limit. I've also got a 170 on the way so there's a wing-loading over 1.5. Looks like I'm not jumping at their DZ any time soon. I teach them to cutaway then go for silver. I don't want a low jump number student screaming through freefall trying to decide which procedure goes with what. One procedure is much simpler for them to deal with given the amount of sensory overload they have to contend with as a new jumper. Once they get more experience and awareness, then we can talk about other possible techniques for dealing with different emergency situations. You should also have a box for container size as well. My rig is a Mirage G3, the size is an M4. If I want to see what kind of fitment other M4 sized Mirage owners have this would make things much easier. Kris Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

If the Stiletto has been recently relined, and the canopy has been reasonably well taken care of, there is no reason why it wouldn't be a good canopy with a couple of thousand jumps left to give. I've seen a Sabre with over 3K jumps on it and it looked almost new except for the labels and dingy trim tape on the nose. Now, it being a good canopy for his experience level, that's a different story. Kris Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

I won't be getting a direct copy of the pic, I just want to use it to explain to the artist what I want. If anyone can help I would be eternally grateful! A PC in tow isn't a total, it's a partial because you have material (in this case, the PC & bridle) out. A total would be something like a missing handle or a hard pull preventing extraction of the PC. With a PC in tow, you still have the possibility of the main coming out due to either the shock of the reserve opening or because the main container isn't being compressed by the now-deployed reserve, possibly allowing the pin to now be pulled by the exposed PC. I use one, but I did my first 100 jumps off student status without one, and I have no problems making a jump without it turned on. However, the added insurance of it allowing me to possibly un-fuck myself at some future date made it an easy decision to get one.
