  1. What's the difference between a Humvee and a rental car? There's just some places you won't take a Humvee.
  2. Exactly, Mary. If it's the Allen I'm thinking of I've never had a problem with him either. He had thrown some words of advice my way that I still appreciate to this day. This troll definitely needs to back up his info or STFU. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
  3. Shibby. Now that you're allowing wingsuits at the DZ I'll have to make it a point to make a visit soon once you get your suits in. It'll be nice to have some others to flock with. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
  4. I'm going to take a wild guess that you have less than a couple of hundred jumps and less then a couple of years in the sport. If you really believe that skydiving is safe you need to quit the sport right now. Skydiving IS dangerous. You can do everything right and still die. Risk DOES equal danger in this definition. If you're going to compare it to driving, make it a fair comparison. Take a car with no brakes, a driver with at least a .10 alcohol level and a swinging case of narcolepsy, and a twisty mountain road. Now you're starting to get close. I've seen people get maimed for life and I've had friends die. I've only had one friend I've known killed in a car accident and I've been driving a lot longer than I've been skydiving. *muttering something about 'youngsters' under my breath* Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
  5. 'Otto Maddox, The Repo Man' played by Emilio Estevez. Followed closely by Kevin Smith as 'Silent Bob' for his monologue in 'Chasing Amy' as the coolest. Sexiest? It's a tie between 'Violet' and 'Corky', the characters played by Jennifer Tilley and Gina Gershon in the Wachowski flick, 'Bound'. *hubba hubba* Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
  6. You know....with specs like that, I could really be convinced to try one out before buying a Crossfire2, just because I want something swoopy but also something I won't have to stress over on BM jumps. I saw the $1999 price on the BigAir site, please tell me that's MSRP and that the street price is different. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

    Deep Thoughts

One day, we all laughed at Bob as he was trying to land and fell on his behind. But then I thought, "What if I was an ant, and he fell on me?" Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
  13. That's a list of amenities...not attitude. Some of the best DZ's I've ever been to have been Cessna DZ's. Now, as for the original poster's question...during the summer I hit two DZ's...my "home" DZ is Skydive Hinton and we're a Cessna operation, running a 206. Great people, good BBQ's, everyone looking out for one-another. Our student's aren't allowed to fall through the cracks, and we don't gouge them on coach fees. everyone has a "can-do" attitude and it carries over even to our students. I also spend time at Skydive Dallas, it's a turbine DZ running an Otter and a Caravan. It has a good vibe, too, even for a DZ its size. It can be cliquish at first, but there's a good group of people there in all disciplines who are willing to help others out. Excellent night life, too. Attitude is more of a "how you make it" kind of thing, bring some of your own attitude to the DZ with you and you'll infect others. Whether it's good or bad is up to you.
  14. I think Chuckie has an issue, every time I'm around that fucker he's sick and can't party. It's a front, he's a wussy-chimp who gets scared when he's near me...he fears my inherent Messican mastery over tequila. As for those whom I have not met in person but hope to party like a rock star with soon...the short list includes: Stacy

  16. I'v been in hiding...apparently this psycho chick I knew, who used to live in San Antonio, moved to Dallas. I fear for my safetly knowing she's so close, but I'm not that fearful, considering that she's such a wussy-chimp that she never even calls. *why yes, I am a master of subtlety.* Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
  17. Clay, how about if I tell you that a cat dies a horrible, yet sadistically funny, death in the movie? Now will you go see it? *BAM* "I can't believe that just fuckin' happened!!" "Is it dead?" Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
  18. It's all fun & games until some kid grabs one of those jets and lowers it, sticks it on 17's, puts a huge aluminum wing on the back, and covers it with yellow Type-R stickers. Sigh. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

  20. dominos pizza delivers... another blow to the apponents midsection leaving a mark... hamilton does not look like george... of the jungle was filmed partly at the Bay Bridge in Oakland... raiders didn't do to well this year... whoa. 21. And one other thing...if you do it yourself and you have a kill-line PC, make sure you don't trap the kill-line with a stitch when you're sewing the new velcro on the bridle. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
  22. This brings up another point...why aren't people controlling their canopy after they land on windy days? No matter how windy it is when I jump, as soon as I'm down I pivot and start reeling in a toggle. The canopy dives into the ground and collapses. I've even done that with a demo canopy with airlocks. Hell, I was taught that maneuver in my first jump course and I teach it to my students. Here in OK, it's a necessity. Almost everyone I've ever seen get knocked down & drug due to winds simply wasn't controlling their canopy. I've watched people do that time and time again. The exceptions were people who had mistimed their flare and didn't stand-up, but I watched one person in 27+ winds not get dragged because they dropped one toggle and reeled the other in. Just my $0.02, Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
  23. Yeah, I think I've got that part figured out. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
  24. [replyNext time it's really windy I'm doing a test. Bill, Winds here are forecasted to be 30+ this weekend. I'm due for a repack and will gladly use my Mirage for this one as I don't think it will work either. I'll be sure to get video. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
  25. I got mine in just under 3 weeks. It fits great and it's built very well. I'd order another again in a heartbeat.
