Boom car? Yes, I hate those too, I also hate that phrase. Yes, my stereo will get loud. Yes, my stereo will pretty much flex the windows in my car. No, I don't crank it, or even have it moderately loud at stop signs, traffic lights, neighborhoods, or public areas. My stereo will however recreate every nuance of Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture...right down to the cannon fire. And every single specific wood or wind instrument can easily be discerned along with that. Being able to hear every detail in a piece of music, whether it be Motzart, Tori Amos, The Ramones, or Public Enemy is very important to me. I love my music and it's a necessary part of what I need to get through the day whether I'm indoors or out in my car. You wouldn't bat an eyelash if someone told you they dropped $850 for a new PD reserve, but I'll bet a non-skydiver would say something. If I were to tell you that the 6 1/2" component speakers in my door cost almost $700 you'd probably react the same as the non-skydiver. Some people 'waste' money on home theatre, some on car audio, and some would say that we waste money jumping out of airplanes. You know...I got to see that video a few months back. I decided to bail on going to the hangar to watch the actual event last year in order to make a load at WFFC, and I'm glad I did. I used a Sabre 210 for my first hundred jumps off of student status. The deal with Sabres is that you either get a good one or you don't. Mine had a pocket slider that merely changed the openings from *WHACK* to snivel, snivel, *WHACK*. Another soul I know with a 210 can't get theirs to open hard if they try. When I was between rigs, Merrick was kind enough to loan me his Dolphin with a Sabre 190...the openings were like buttah! Maybe a larger slider would have helped. Mine was 24" IIRC. I didn't keep it long enough to find out if a larger slider would have helped. The person who ended up buying my rig from me had acceptable openings so it could have been a combination of the slider and my deployment speed since I'm an anvil of a guy. Back then, my openings were at around 130-135mph. Now I'm around 125 in my new FF suit so who knows? Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

I carry one on the left hip of my Mirage (metal knife), one on my chest strap (metal), and there is one on the right leg of my Bird-Man GTi (Jack the Ripper). I'm thinking about having the pocket on my GTi moved though. The right-leg of my GTi is a pretty busy place for it to be because the loop for it is right by the loops for the wing and LQRS handles.
