You shouldn't have to wait too long. Electric will always have the potential to generate gobs more torque than a gas engine ever will. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Kris and Sunny are getting married ? Nah, we can't. There won't be a hot air balloon there. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

How angry would you be if you went in?

Sorry, But I'd hope that I'd be too busy yanking handles, weilding my hook knife, or clawing the flaps of my container until my Oakley's filled with blood to think about it. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™ -

IIRC, you have to be loaded at about 1.6 or higher to really be able to pull off that maneuver. I've tried it on my Stiletto at 1.4 after front-risering it to build up speed and I just don't have enough juice to do it. When the lines start to go slack on you during the attempt though...well, it definitely gets your heart going. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Thank goodness! That's one less thing we have to worry about. That woman is a menace on the road! Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

It should take about 12 pounds of force to undo your locking stows. Don't double-stow your locking stows. The other stows just need to be snug, no need to overdo them. They're just there to keep the lines organized. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

BAWAAAAAHAAAAA!!!!!! Yes, Remi....it's true. Unlike you I'm just a pretender. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

I agree with sunny, fuck work dude, BE THERE!!! Well, considering that Wingi's boss can have him thrown in jail if he doesn't show up, I'll cut him a little slack. But not too much, dammit! Don't make me call your Commanding Officer and pretend to be your manwhore lover just to get you some time off. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

No kidding. Leave my rig at the DZ or in my car? Fuck that! I just make sure that if I ever need to have a case of "Blue Flu" that I have it early enough to swing by the house to pick up my baby. When my rig is at my house I know what she's up to.

I'm just her "Sexy Messicano". Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Definitely looks like you.

I thought it was up to the assembling rigger to determine compatibility between components? I have PD reserve slinks installed on my Tempo and I've yet to run into a rigger who has an issue packing my rig. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

No, you read it correctly the first time. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Woot! Now we just have to hide the couches so that you don't spend all day sleeping like at Rantoul last year. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

I've often wondered that myself and I've come up with two possible answers: Cost and liability. It takes a lot of money to develop, test, and certify to a standard, and who's standard are they going to go with? DOT? I doubt it. Snell? Possibly. Now comes liability...in a sport where everyone stays uninsured, and no warranties are issued on most of our gear, finding someone to step forward and say that "Yes, our helmet will protect you!" is a pretty big challenge. My helmet (Mindwarp) saved me from some pretty serious possible damage during a nasty opening on my Stiletto last year. I would buy a helmet offering more protection were it available.
-
Eh. So I was off on the Protec. Thanks for the knowledge. I would be curious as to how many DZ's replace their student Protec helmets after they've taken an impact. But it doesn't change the fact that a Bonehead, Gath, Oxygn, or Z1 isn't going to provide any 'real' protection in the case of a large impact. They're great for smaller knocks and scrapes, but that's about it. They have saved some peoples bacon before in rare cases, but they're not designed for it. Yeah, fast is nice, but my car went 395 miles on Friday on 12 gallons of gas. If I want fast I'll get another crotch rocket or go skydiving, especially with the price of gas today. But I do miss the older fast cars I used to own (IROC, Stang, Pacifica). Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Yeah, maybe, but telling everyone we hung out and studied bible verse just doesn't have the same zing, yanno'? Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Reserve PC's have hung up on things (such as a main) before and killed people. The problem Mick was trying to solve with the catapult does indeed exist. The jury was out though on whether the possible problems the catapult brought to the table outweighed the positives. The catapult had one or two saves IIRC. I'd buy it. In fact I'm thinking about trying to find a 170 or 190 to throw in a second rig dedicated to BirdMan.
-
Again, if the patch was done properly, not an issue. The Hornets are solid canopies, and I have jumped one a few times in the 190 size. If you have a choice between the two, personally I'd go for the Hornet. More consistant openings (as far as speed) and it flies and flares a lot like a Sabre2. Wrong. Skydiving helmets aren't designed for real impact protection, unlike a motorcycle helmet to which you are referring. As long as the helmet isn't cracked it's okay to use again. I've dropped my Mindwarp and it came through like a tank. The ONLY skydiving helmet that will protect your noggin in an impact is a Protec, and it's a polycarbonate single-layer shell. If it isn't cracked it's good to go as well. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

It was probably just snagged at some point and repaired. As long as it was properly patched you've got nothing to worry about. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
