Exactly. After my hard opening last year, and looking at the gouges my risers left on the side of my helmet, my sunglasses, and the laceration on my forehead...well, there is no doubt in my mind I would be missing an ear right now if it hadn't been for my Mindwarp. I've been running the 1.21 code on mine since it came out and I've been nothing but happy with my neptune over the last few months.

Luckily, those were on the cell that got replaced after it blew out. Hmm....maybe we're onto something here. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

The $2 should be subtracted from, not added to, the $27 to get $25 paid for the room. There is no missing dollar. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Check out the specs on your router. If it's intelligent enough you may be able to allocate usage with it on a per-connection basis.

Skydiving....one of the only sports where one man can turn to another and say, "Damn, bubba....that's a nice sewing machine you've got there!" Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Solid advice, Kirk. PD makes some amazing products. I love my Stiletto a little more than a man really should. But...now that I'm ready to get rid of my 190 and go to a 170 I decided to try several other canopies before blindly settling on a Stiletto or Vengeance 170. Tried the Vengeance. Fun canopy, but I didn't like the openings. I really liked the Samurai as an all-around performer....then I tried the Crossfire2 at Rantoul. Wowza, I was blown away by it. I'm ordering it in a few more weeks. I would really have liked to have tried a Katana, but the biggest they're making is a 150. Sigh... Frankie, like Kirk stated, the point is, demo, demo, demo. Don't get hung up on brand. There are a lot of other manufacturer's out there with solid products. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

And if only Mary's e-mail was listed on that page.... The FAQ on the page is a good place to start, and I'm sure if you contact the number on the Programs & Pricing page they can answer any other questions you may have. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

No, that's HeatherB you're thinking of. Way to take care of business, Keith. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Agreed. I won't say which DZ I saw it happen at, but I watched an AFF level 1 go out solo out of a Cessna. The student froze on the count and had both hands locked to the strut. The instructors were left holding onto his grippers. One fell off immediately, the other a few seconds later. The student then waited another few seconds and left on his own, but too late for the instructors to float back up to him. Luckily, the ground-training was good enough for the student to hold a stable arch (barely even a mild spin that we could see from the ground) and the student deployed a little under 3K. I was certain I was going to see a Cypres fire that day. I know both AFF instructors and they aren't slackers, they simply got caught off guard. BS. If you were told that then you were told wrong. YOU and only you are responsible for your life during a skydive. Not the JM, not the other people on the load....you! Of course, tandem is an exception. Any student that believes that their instructor will definitely pull for them is living a dangerous fantasy. A good instructor will definitely try their best to help you un-fuck yourself if it comes to it, and 95% of the time they are able to do it, but a good instructor will also know when to give up and hope for the best. No skydiver (even instructors) should have any friends below 2000 feet. I was taught that even while getting my IAD-instructor rating. And I don't have any friends below 2K. First-generation Sabre's are known for their quick, and sometimes brutal, openings. I'll testify on the brutal part, I used to own one. However, a friend who had a 190 never got anything but sweet, soft openings out of his. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

I'm impressed, Bonnie. I checked 8 or 9 different dealers and got the same answer every time. *adding Gravity Gear to my speed dial* Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

From Mirage. Nobody stocks them. They're custom made to order. I lost my PC & RB-24 sized freebag after it was damaged by landing on a freshly tarred road in Sept. Luckily, the DZO had an extra freebag & PC lying about from a cutaway. It sat in a field for a couple of weeks before it was found. It was only one size larger, and it works, but it's not quite the same in my rig. Mirage's quoted turn-around to me at the time was about 2 weeks, not too shabby. Their price on the freebag & bridle is $70 and the reserve PC is $95. I'm ordering an exact replacement next month since I'm going to a smaller reserve, and I'll keep the one I have as a 'just in case" spare. Not necessarily. A smaller slider could also slow down the openings as it can reef the canopy more at the appropriate size. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

I've run into Mat a couple of times in the last few years at the Indian restaurant I go to for lunch occasionally. Really nice, laid back guy.

How many of you DON'T wear altimeters?
Kris replied to dkf1979's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I've forgotten mine one and given it to other jumpers who have forgotten theirs twice. I'm comfortable eye-balling if I'm current and familiar with the DZ. It'll be a little harder to forget my alti now though, I just attached my Neptune to my left glove for the winter. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™ -
Bitter, much? This is the part where I add that the cop that let me go was a Texas DPS officer outside of Sherman. I was doing 82 in a 70 on my way to Skydive Dallas. Respect them and they'll respect you.

Damn....I clicked on the wrong thread. I'm gonna put my Bauhaus CD in now and slowly back away to the goth thread. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Exactly, Conway. It's called courtesy. I always pull all the way over, roll down both windows (I have tint), and by the time the officer walks up my wallet & keys are sitting on the dash with my hands on the wheel. One officer was so impressed he just looked at me & said, "Get back on the road & slow down." Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
